We make 1000's of things out of oil that can't be derived from anything else. From the plastic that seals your food, to the dye that colors your clothes, to the coating that is used on all electrical wiring. All of it requires oil, so thinking we can "just stop oil" is pure idiocy.
I guess everyone would agree that we need to reduce and eventually phase out fossil fuels, for the simple reason that we are now using it faster than it's being regenerated. So eventually it will run out, although arguable it will still take a while. These folks instead of screaming and shouting and stating the obvious, they would better spend their time actively working on alternatives. I wonder if any of these folks are off grid for their energy, it's perfectly doable, and 9 times cheaper than grid energy if you can believe them they should lead by example. I would be interested what PhD this gentlemen has, maybe a PhD in blahblahblah from the well known University of Thunberg.
So what happens when our oil runs dry in 8 years' time. What will we use for constructing and repairing roads, what will we use for solvents and adhesives, clothes manufacturing, transportation, cleaning products, medical treatment etc etc. This list goes on. Its not just about sticking some wind turbines up and spreading the land with solar panels, (That all have to be replaced in time due to efficiency drops). and all will be well when we stop eating meat and rewild our land. They all live is a dreamland. How about asking the question about the mining of colbolt and lithium for battery production? How ethical is this and are they worried about the people in Congo, or it because its not on our doorstep it doesn't affect us.

Renewable energy is not cheaper than fossil fuel energy. If massive government grants were not available, no company would touch it as it so unprofitable.
The reason why thousands are going to die in the Winter is because the pandemic economic shutdowns and the Russia/ Ukraine War have driven up prices and exposed domestic energy insecurity that renewables CANNOT make up the baseload for, and there are NO viable surplus energy storage solutions for renewables either. So this guy is literally supporting blackouts to occur

If they must protest, why not block goods arriving from countries that are increasing levels of pollution and demand that these goods have import duties applied to counter the pollution and transport involved in making them and bringing them to our shores? We make 1000's of things out of oil that can't be derived from anything else. From the plastic that seals your food, to the dye that colors your clothes, to the coating that is used on all electrical wiring. All of it requires oil, so thinking we can "just stop oil" is pure idiocy.
Why are you giving these people air time?
why dont we just have a just stop his universal credit payment .
No, more oil please, extra and more than now.
I wonder how these people would react if a new group was set up to protest outside their homes and prevent them and their families free movement?
The myth that it's cheaper with wind is total bollocks. Wait till its taxed
There is, NO CLIMATE CRISIS, end of!
"My paramedic friend ...the number of times he has picked up someone who has died from the cold ". Hmm hottest summer on record allegedly and they died of cold. Perhaps the home has the air con too low and therefore its corporate manslaughter. Also, Winters aren't harsh in the UK by any stretch. They used to be back in the "rose tinted glasses days". Perhaps these old people are dying of despair once they've realised how awful this country is after they sacrificed so much whilst fighting for the future freedoms of these people.
Exactly maybe embarrassment by what the human race is becoming .
Renewable energy is not cheaper than fossil fuel energy. If massive government grants were not available, no company would touch it as it so unprofitable.
Jeremy vile
Embarrassed he's Scottish, as am I.
Is that Neil from the Inbetweeners?🤣
What a waste of time and money on his “Education”
The reason why thousands are going to die in the Winter is because the pandemic economic shutdowns and the Russia/ Ukraine War have driven up prices and exposed domestic energy insecurity that renewables CANNOT make up the baseload for, and there are NO viable surplus energy storage solutions for renewables either. So this guy is literally supporting blackouts to occur
Energy bills reducing to £400 due to renewable energy 😂😂😂😂
What delusional planet is this guy on? There’s not enough supply to meet that kind of demand
Paramedics don’t go to the dead, that’s the coroner
He actually sniggered and laughed when Jeremy said police are too soft to do anything… that is surely a sign to the police to take a tougher line as they are making fun out of the police
20\20 hindsight there mate, they were walking alongside them on the pavement yesterday they may as well have been holding the banners
@@scotty87ablehaha so true yeah go on police grab a banner , there doing nothing else 😂
Never argue with an idiot. He,ll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. Mark Twain
Ask him the obvious question Jeremy, how did he get to the studio, I bet he didn't walk.
If they must protest, why not block goods arriving from countries that are increasing levels of pollution and demand that these goods have import duties applied to counter the pollution and transport involved in making them and bringing them to our shores? That money could be reinvested in local manufacturing (avoids pollution from shipping), insulation and renewable energy schemes.
Ah, but then other countries would start to put import duties on our Exports (OBVIOUSLY)
Just Stop Jeremy Kyle.
If we stop JK who will berate the useless eaters?
Police are offering pizza and a cup of tea? From across the pond someone over there please tell me this isn't true.
Just stop oil have made me want to run every possible thing I can on an old gas guzzling v8 . My lawnmower, skateboard, everything
These people are receiving far too much publicity.
Ever wondered why the tv stations that are supposedly 'debating' them are always having them on? The only reason they are on is to soften up the public to their dogma.
It's like the good old days when throwing a sickie from the office, isn't it?
Will he do shifts in a warehouse for minimal wage ?
Nooo😂
PHD in mental idiocy!
Some of the least intelligent people that I know halve PhD's.
It doesn’t matter how cheap the Uk makes renewable energy we still have to pay the global prices!
"we have many working class people" yeah like one guy, it is mostly childless men, 18year old girls and retired people who are bored.
I like it when he refers to we like they rule the world.he isn't talking about the homeless who are dying on the street
10 years in prison each.. they'd soon stop
"I ask you to consider that we had used, in our agitation, only peaceful means until we saw clearly that peaceful means were absolutely of no avail, and then for years we had used only the mildest militancy, until we were taunted by Cabinet Ministers, and told that we should never get the vote until we employed the same violence that men had used in their agitation for suffrage." - Emmeline Pankhurst.
The granting of the vote hasn't improved matters really has it. They are just as stupid and credulous as men. Petticoat politics has resulted merely in a bigger mess.
Cover them in 🍅 soup? Hhmm. Not my idea 😂
Cant Wait Till One Of These Things Actully Stops Stealing Air? Time Will Come When Someone Who Has A Job, Does What The Inept Police Cant Do,, Public Justice,,,,,
Stop giving them media attention....
Could someone explain why, if there is no climate emergency and the lives of our children and grandchildren are not threatened, the high number of medics, scientists, lawyers in so many countries are getting arrested for protesting?
Links plz ? Facts plz
If they like orange so much they should try Agent Orange. That would sort them. Remember Vietnam!!
or an orange jump suit in a supermax prison
Where are these organisations getting their money from?
Well, I think the couple of tins of soup cost about a fiver at TESCOS and the Milk a fiver too...
@@davideldred.campingwilder6481 it's not the soup, it's the organisational costs, the signs, clothing and who is posting their bail?
@@neil4920 It's a group of volunteers and I'm sure they have various people behind the scenes with vested interests. Alternative powering companies, etc...
@@davideldred.campingwilder6481 it's funny that all these ecoterrorist groups popped up roughly at the same time, follow the money.
@@neil4920 sorry, but it's the war in Ukraine and Russia. That's what hastened this. If you are unaware that 200.000 people have died in the current Ethiopian war. It's because it's unimportant to the WEST...
They should go to Pakistan and protest there!!
Welcome to the Jeremy Kyle show.
Like how Jeremys chair is higher up so he's looking down on the guy
Art of war 😂
Vile Kyle.
I thought that was Andy Murray 🤣😂🤣
They make me want to use more fossil fuels
Bullies, bullies.
why don't they (Just stop oil, insulate Britain, etc) get training on how to insulate houses and then use their daddy's money to install insulation on pensioners houses free of charge? If they started to do that it would snowball and people would start giving them money to do more of it. Would I make a donation to help keep pensioners warm? Yes and a most people would. That's meaningful change in the direction they require.
They could follow this with solar systems combined with electric boilers. That would help the electric boiler industry to develop to the point where it would become the obvious choice for your next boiler replacement (boiler and solar panels kit).
I assume you mean solar energy systems and not the stars
Oh and they are going to freeze when you shut off the gas. And sorry to tell you but our power goes out to often in the winter with -40 degree weather to depend solely on renewable. And electricity is only cheaper NOW, until oil is removed and then they increase the cost due to demand .
Give this man his own show back
Increasing the support for the oil companies, working as intended.
Time for the sane public to police these vandals....
Met police not fit for purpose.
If renewables are so cheap, why has my electricity bill gone up by 54%??
Another middle class Hooray Henry telling us how to live our lives before he's even encountered living a normal life himself. Oil is wonderfull and increase the fracking 💯
Mate, you have a massive chip on your shoulder. You should get it fried in oil...
@@davideldred.campingwilder6481 no chip on my shoulder mate, I've raised a family, paying a mortgage, paying my taxes so I'm entitled to my opinion on how I should live my life, what someone with a chip on there shoulder does is tell other people how to live theirs! Oil is in plentiful supply, as is natural gas. Let's use it and live our lives. If you don't like it then opt out 😃
That guy has a bit of paper that might say he's intelligent, but is his PhD worth the paper it's written on.
Jeremy says that this guy with a phd is an intelligent human being but from my experience intelligent people have absolutely no common sense!!
Majority of people who go to university to get higher education normally have less sense then people who don't go
Who's paying to insulate every home in the country?
Why don't these people get a job and insulate their own homes, tax payers already working have to pay for their own insulation. The only people the government should pay for, is pensioners, people working for a low income, people unable to work because of illness, not for people that have nothing else to do but to disrupt everyone else's life
Change is needed, but not like this. Change can only happen over time and not with the spontaneity that these eco zealots expect to happen.
In fairness… this was actually a pretty calm debate 😊
Someone died from cold
It’s not been below 10° yet 😂
All Pantomime. Why keep having them on and publicising them?
This is becoming a most particularly boring topic and Talk TV are equally as guilty as the protesters by giving them air time. When they glue themselves to the floor/tarmac, redirect traffic and leave them…..especially when it rains. Block off the road, redirect traffic using temporary traffic lights where possible, as you would when road works are taking place and leave them. When the pubs shut, let the drunks use them as urinals. Let these people look after their own, provide them with food and drink, toilets etc, create inconvenience for them, as they do for the rest of us.
Alternatively, take 3 litres of used engine oil in a jug and pour it over half of those that have glued themselves to the road and then comply with their wishes and STOP.
Importantly however……STOP giving these selfish terrorists air time. Have respect for the viewers.
Follow the money
