Just a quick theory I have for anchor beings.
So an anchor being is a being that basically holds down a universe so it doesn’t collapse. My theory is this only applies to outside timelines. I think the sacred timeline doesn’t have an anchor being, but other timelines that diverge from it do because they’re less stable, they’re not able to support themselves as easily so they need a singular being to serve as a central point to control it.
Just a quick thought I had.

    • @itskashkashi

Maybe this theory could apply to the sacred timeline as well, ik Deadpool’s whole plot is to be meta, but it’d be interesting to see the anchor being be either spider-man or ironman since the whole idea is worlds are dying from pre marvel films and the only way to save them is to regenerate them with a new variant that can live a new life

They 💯 did not touch the story of Logan. They extended Logan PAST his death. It didn't change a single thing about Logan. Now, the film was Absolutely fantastic movie. I can't remember ab half of it, bc there was SOOO much going on. But it was awesome. I wish it had oicked up a little quicker, and one could tell that it didnt get many rewrites due to the writers strike (i would have ad libbed and got them on a loophole that talking is not writing, writing requires putting writing instrument to writable media like paper or vellum) but it was still a very solid film. The bus fight was fkng epic and ended with a comic accurate wolverine, elbows to the sky, jumping out the windshield with Deadpool, it was fkng amazing. Gambit was the MVP too

Deadpool & Wolverine is delightful entertainment. An over the top spectacle, a marvellous rollercoaster but an endearing experience that focuses on character and emotion when it needs to. The script keeps a fine balance between humour and drama. It never feels like it’s leaning too far to one side. There’s jokes and gags aplenty, with Reynolds delivering his best performance yet as the “merc with the mouth.” Ryan’s respect and passion for the source material pays off in spades. It’s testament to his dedication to the role because Deadpool finally evolves past the wisecracks and into something more tangible and sympathetic. He’s still Deadpool but he’s all grown up and he’s back with a new companion in wolverine. If I had doubts about Jackman returning to the role, all concerns are effectively dismissed. This is perhaps his best performance, outshining his performance in Logan by a small margin. Jackman is magnificent here adding depth and nuance to wolverine with such distinction, it has to be seen, to be believed. The oddball bromance between these two is the central focus of the film, both carrying the narrative with finesse. It’s clear this film was made with compassion and dignity because the film has heart. The emphasis on making Wade and Logan two broken, dysfunctional men, both on a path of redemption, both heroes at their core, is what makes Deadpool & Wolverine a classic entry in the superhero genre . It’s pure unadulterated fun, that packs many surprises, is hyper-violent, stylistically glorious but most importantly it’s emotionally driven. The film does enough to keep a smile on your face throughout its runtime. Deadpool and wolverine reminds us that comicbook movies can be fun and poignant at the same time, in my opinion that’s the best kind. Go see it. You’ll have a great time.

Because he spends a good portion of this movie making jokes about having queer hanky-panky, but when I've suggested that he *is* queer (pan in the comics), I've gotten a lot of pushback from men. Why is that?

I also wished there were some flashbacks of the carnage Wolverine unleashed that turned the world against him. It was really confusing trying to piece that together during the film. They never explicitly say what he did, so all the "What I did" talk didn't hit as hard as it should've. I honestly thought he just got drunk and the X-men happened to get slaughtered by humans while he was at the bar. I eventually figured out Wolverine killed a shitload of humans in retaliation. lol
I also would've liked to have seen more backstory for Casandra Nova, especially given her connection to Xavier. Her character was much cooler than expected.

First off, as you said, it doesn't really upend the emotional gravitas of the ending of Logan, you can still enjoy it and pretend Deadpool is fanfiction. Second, People who are angry that they essentially brought back Wolverine from the dead apparently have never read a comic book. Characters are killed off and brought back all the time, the main "issue" in this movie is comic accurate.

I understand it would be creatively challenging to have her be with deadpool since the beginning but how about have her see deadpool digging the grave, have like one quick scene together, but immediately TVA shows up and prunes her, so that she can show up later in the movie.

@dannyrank123 I've seen that movie, and it's great, but I do wish we could have gotten a live action fight in the movie, but probably because of the budget, they just had to teaser it, but hopefully they'll be a live action Hulk vs Wolverine movie one day.

What I loved about the cameos was that they were repping each of their own universes inside fox and not inside fox with Wolverine and X-23 for fox x-men. Johnny for F4, Elecktra for the DD and her movie tie in (I never saw hers, but saw DD) Gambit to see a comic accurate Gambit to honor how hard Channing fought to get his movie, I'm not a Channing fan but bless Ryan for giving the man his dream and letting Channing do what Channing does, that bro is seriously funny. Then our man Blade just yes took my bestie who is a Blade girlie through and through.
It was spoiled for me, so I rushed her to the theatre asap so it wouldn't be spoiled for her. She went through all the emotions ending with her just silently crying from joy. She never though he would never show up as Blade again short of that one scene WWditS tv series XDDD
If I had money I would go again, also in my part of the world we got no popcorn buckets and I'm gutted. I live in the middle of the south island in NZ T___T but I wasn't gunna jump on a plane to Sydney for a popcorn bucket (which is my 2nd home) but if I can't afford a second ticket rn I can't afford a flight lol

Funny enough, days after the movie, we actually find out that Ryan and the rest wanted to make the movie about 3 hours long with a lot of Logan-centered scene on his life before the X-men got killed, like the X-men Origins-esque WWII scene where he kills German soldiers but Disney executives prevented that. Now there's a big discussion with adding those scenes back in the director's cut or at least release them online which Disney is still saying NO

Something made a theory that it's also in a way referencing Doctor strange. Since Deadpool the idea of is that he might be experiencing that as a dream of a Deadpool variant experiencing that in some way I don't know but it was a very interesting theory.

Saw it in theaters Saturday and then on UA-cam Monday night before it got taken down Tuesday morning. Mr Paradox’s motivation is weak, how does he plan on getting away with his scheme and for how long? Also the reason they eventually reveal for this Logan being the “worst Wolverine” in the multiverse is sooooooo underwhelming. And the 4 Purged heroes fight vs like 60 purged bad guys at the end was unbelievable

I saw this movie 3 weeks ago in cinema and it was great! Fun action scenes, good humor, excellent music, funny cameos and everyone had a role in the story, Cassandra was intimidating and had cool powers. I had a fantastic time with the movie!
My only issue is Vanessa braking up with Wade. Why she did it? She was ready to have a family with him then suddenly leave him? That doesn't make sense 🤨I was also dissapointed that Domino wasn't here! She could be as a cameo when Wade celebrate his birthday. Wonder why she wasn't here!
The rest was fun! It's a 8|10 and i will definitely rewatch it again!

Controversial hot take, this was the only time I liked Wolverine in movies. I love Hugh Jackman but when he started as Wolverine in the X-Men movies I thought he was too pretty, too unencumbered emotionally, and the black leather costume was lame. The last movie, Logan, I thought was too derivative; I felt it blatantly ripped off the tone and story beats of Children of Men and it’s yet another sad-sack “life has been hard and now my powers are failing” superhero story which had already been done half a dozen times.
The Wolverine in this movie was pitch-perfect, I felt Jackman had aged into the role, didn’t have the bizarre and inconsistent baggage of 9 previous “tragic backstory” movies, and felt like the writers actually understood the task of portraying the character with a fresh restart. Loved it.

8/10 for cameos and respect for old franchises alone. And Deadpool with Wolverine were very fun duo. As for plotline I don't see much problem, beyond anchor thing and how in the hell could Blade not be an anchor in his respective timeline. However .. I think I understand now how to look at whole 'anchor' thing and I find it .. touching what happened to Blade here. You can tell this movie was made with love and care for these characters. All of them. And that's precious. You don't get this that often in Hollywood, even with cameos. And these were NOT mere cameos too .. which I am grateful for.

Hmm I understood timelines being franchises .. but now that you say it I think I understand Blade's situation more. Before that with whole "Wolverine was your timeline anchor, as nobody cared about any X-men besides him" didn't worked for me in Blade's case because in Blade's universe .. who was more popular, more beloved then he was ? He was the star of that universe and he alive. Alone. "There can be only one Blade" so to speak.
But now you speak how the company the suit evil guy is like CEO's of companies. Just thrashing entire franchise for one flop or discarding characters for one flop ... and I think I understand a nudge of what happened to Blade in this movie. The company removed his timeline as Trinity bombed his franchise due to sabotage from thrice cursed Goyer .. but Blade is still here. I feel like some characters were saved by rogue people within company from complete destruction.
It would certainly be accurate to Blade fanbase. Marvel doesn't care about IP. It pretends it never existed. Hell Stan Lee in interview had to correct a full fledged journalist that Iron Man did NOT start MCU. Blade did. Suits do not care about Blade's franchise, but fanbase cares about Blade himself. In as sense Blade being here in this void is as if his fanbase just skirted him away to save him from being forgotten and destroyed as is his franchise by Marvel's own intent. I find it accurate and .. touching.
I think Reboot of Blade is cancelled. It's stuck in development hell, Marshala Ali deleted all his posts about it and his agent said he took more projects which further confirms he gave up. Plus Ryan Reynolds is really trying to convince Marvel to just give final Blade movie to Snipes. Also their 'beef' was a joke, according to them both. Only person Snipes had urge to beat to pulp was Goyer and rightfully so. And in ending .. I do feel like when Deadpool says about saving others ... yeah while I don't expect Electra and Gambit .. I think he spoke mostly about Blade. Which makes sense, since he personally was asking Snipes to get to this movie.
PS: And yes, I went to this movie solely because I heard Wesley Snipes is there as Blade. I almost choked and spit cola when I heard from another youtuber that he is there. I waited so long, others even longer, to finally get some justice for Blade. And yes if I was in this crazy metaverse in position of the bad guys company, I would be the rogue employee who would skirt Blade away from corporate mandate destruction of his franchise for as long as they can. That's exactly what Blade fan would do, because that's what we've been doing for all these years that Marvel tried to erase from memory existance of this character.
And my disgust to Marvel is mostly based on how they treated Blade, both the character and the actor.

Well talking about closure to fox films, I fundamentally disagree with that direction. Sure alot of ppl might have worked on it, but theresa reason why those films didnt work. Thtats the nature of the industry and storyteling. It was embroiled with controversies and disconnectivity. So once Marvel finally got their hands onto these characters, they finally had a chance to do these characters properly. Build them up from the ground up respecting their lore. Sure, we got some pretty irreplaceabl cast in terms of performances, but you have got to move forward with new guys and tell fresh stories with a strong direction.
But I guess they wanna rermain fixated on these characters for longer. One thing I really loved though was the clarity that is now established thru this movie with regards to the multiverse. Ppl keep on saying 'MCU', and although that is still the primwe timeline, we now have 2 timelines to focus our attention and investements on: MCU-616 and MCU-100005

This movie didnt suck, but it wasnt a good movie. It had scenes that were good, but the bulk of the movie were just gimmicks to put butts in seats ,and we all know they needed that, but the plot was lame, all the cameos were ridiculously over used. Hugh jackman gave a good performance mostly, but reynolds suffered from the same thing hemsworth did in love and thunder,it was too much goofiness .,,even for wade wilsons character. By using cassandra nova as the villain, she comes off as not quite fitting the movie without writing in a charles xavier to cameo opposing her. Its almost as if they al set down and said,we want to being characters back that didnt get a good ending,so they wrote around that to make a plot, cassandra nova was shoved in there and instead of fighting xavier oh look, she wants to destroy the timelines,so many wolverine variants/cameos,so many deadpool cameos, but they couldnt find room for xavier? Yeah, not impressed by this at all.
