I watched this film recently on Netflix. I have read the biography of Stalin and the events after his death. Although a thoroughly entertaining satirical comment, and putting aside typical poetic licence, it was pretty accurate to events. However I found the dialogue between the characters so riveting and absorbing that I watched the movie 4 times in the course of a week. Never come close to this before. Incredibly well composed and acted.

All the UK had been able to do was hold the line. Had Germany not opened up the eastern front, the troops and equipment available to defend the territories they took in the west would have at the very least, made the war drag on for many more years at a cost of millions more deaths and potentially given them enough time to develop their own nuke, and had Stalin have sided with the Axis in such a scenario, the results would have been unthinkable.
