I get very nostalgic when I see this footage. Yelena Naimushina's death is very sad and unfortunate. She embodied artistic qualities that are now completely ignored by the new generation of gymnasts.

Excellent exercise! That it should be Olympic champion in the voluntary and not Nelli Kim and Nadia Comaneci. Previous achievements of former champions, their big name outweighed the scales of the judges in their direction. What a pity! Estimates have not put a former merits.
Even Nastia, although she is a beautiful gymnast, still workd the floor quite robotic too. No smiles, no joy. Some gymnasts were able to that decades ago.
Fantastic! Correct me if im wrong but i saw 3 one handed flic flacs on her 2nd tumbling round? It was so fast anyway! On floor for me she was better than the rest if her teammates. Kim did not deserve the gold honestly, she was always overscored, even in 76. For me this was the routine of the olympics

nice dance, and expressivity, but i'm glad gymnastics has evolved away from that. when i feel like seeing beautiful dance, i go see dancers. gymnastics is for gymnasts
70's and 80's gymnastics is the best. The gymnasts had their own individual style, this made it very exciting to watch.
