I think of it that way:
    1. Find your passions by emotional thinking
    2. Fund your passions by logical thinking
Money spending without knowledge of your passions is often wasted, although it can lead you to a passion if you're lucky.
Dream chasing without the money to support those dreams will result in slow progress and frustration, although you can get lucky that way aswell.

I say chase money simply because it's how this world currently functions and therefore you NEED money.
When you have excess money you'll typically be able to truly afford your passions.

After watching more than a couple of videos on Passion Vs Career and Money, I realised that passion has been in most cases categorised as LOVE of one's INTERESTS. But interests petty much fluctuate as we go through life and may not always become a source of income, but a career that brings in money can, hence careers or jobs are needed .
I will like to point out another factor, which In my opinion, is the senior to "Passion" and it's PURPOSE. Purpose for me is the intersection between "Love for Interest"(Passion) and Love for PEOPLE.
Purpose for me is something that can hunt you if left undone in one's life time

I’ve made great money at jobs I was miserable at, I’ve made peanuts on jobs I’ve loved. The ONE thing I’ve learned in my life from these experiences is that PASSION FOLLOWS YOU, not the other way around. Every position or career I’ve held all around the USA has always influenced my passion(s). Where you know it or not you can’t look for your passion left or right, it will always be right in front of your face, all you have to do is look up…

I have coached people in choosing a career path. these are the two options:
    1. Do what you love. -This may or may not provide you with the luxuries of life, but the mandatory 8 hours we give in exchange for "living" is consumed by what you love doing the most. Go for it.
    2. Do what affords you the luxury to do what you love. - This means doing that grind, day after day so that on your days off, you can afford to do whatever you want. Go for it.
No two people are the same. everyone has their own ideas on what they would rather do with their time. Two facts remain. You have to afford to live, day-by-day and there are things you want to do with your time. Each person if free to choose one or the other. (Some, though very few, get to do both.) So sit back and use your logic/passion matrix to figure out how to achieve what it is you want to do. Then... Go for it! Make YOUR life happen!

I would say: instead of chasing a job where you work for someone else, or a passion that is probably unrealistic. Chase becoming your own boss and find a way to become an entrepreneur. Let me tell u guys, I got the job I always wanted, and I’m not any happier, in fact I’m under more stress, more pressure, feel like I’m a never ending hamster wheel where you give up your most important commodity and this commodity cannot be replaced, and that is YOUR TIME. Instead of working to make others rich, work to make your self rich, if you can find a way. Fock working for another man.

Hideo Kojima is one of the world's best game designers. He may even be the best game designer in the world. He is passionate about game design and films. He also has a degree in economics. He more or less knows how to make his passion profitable. He more or less knows how to do so without compromising his vision. He has faced incredible odds and he was able to overcome them all because of his passion.
A business mentor once told me, "Before you make the money, you need to become the man."
How does one become "the man". How does one do so while facing incredible odds? How? The answer is passion. Your passion is your drive. It is the force behind your actions. However, force is not enough. You also need strategy and this is where logic comes in.
My father once told me, "You can be anything you want, except ignorant in business and money."

I can make it work but Im just looking towards weekends and end of workdays, not seeing any purpose or true value in the work I do. It stems from my childhood where I was steered away from my creative tendencies to just excell at school and get to a good uni and the traditional stuff. There are compromises to be made but once you focus on being the greatest at what you're already good at, without money in mind, the money will come and will fund your passions. Great insight. Regarding being passionate about art, as a musician let me say there are 2 kinds of people: People who can CHOOSE not to do it, and people who have no choice BUT to do it. If you're not the latter, put down the guitar or the paintbrush. You can't do it. Enjoy it as a hobby, at the most. But stop playing rockstar. It's unsightly.
p.s. It is logical to say that you will get the culture you pay for. If you take the product for free, you will eviscerate the livelihoods of thousands of real artists, and create a climate in which people have to supplicate themselves to a hyper-corporate, agenda-pushing, centralized platform of artless control freaks in order to survive at all. This is why "music sucks today." You got what you paid for. A culture of amateurs who think that rappers are musicians. Take heed. You're next.

I still battle a lot with myself on this. i'm not yet that successful has i want to be because of this. No work really fulfills me. But with my passion (sports) i'm so passionate, i feel a sense of freedom and belonging that is hard to express on words.
I'm competent on my work, but at the of day i'm wondering "what the hell i'm i doing?" , "Am i wasting my life?"
And it got me pondering about this.
I know it in my core that if "found" the thing that drives has much has i drive from sports and playing it, and apply it to some business, oh man... i really feel i can conquer the world, so much that it frightens me.
Thank for your great work Patrick, maybe when i find my way, possible we will meet.

You said you're passionate about baseball just because you aren't the athlete that doesn't mean you can't follow your passion look at the owners, coaches, trainers, scouts and general managers it's different positions you can take while following your passion that's what I'm doing with my passion (music) I know how to be an artist but I'll rather be behind the scenes because that's what my heart & mindset is on the entrepreneur side of it.

I think it's wise to do that which is best for you in your circumstances. For some that will be making money, for some it will be following their passion, for some it will be both, for others it might be striving towards some achievement that just needs to happen, etc.

@@jrose1999 That's not as bad as it may seem, as it may help you to realize that YOU should be the navigator of your life, not me.
Of course if you need someone to talk to so you can arrange your thoughts I can chat with you somewhere, or if you happen to be one of those rare people who genuinely want others to determine their life, then I'm sure someone will choose for you. Just be very wise in picking that person then! ;)
