Foxing is an indie band whose mature slow-burner “Dealer” reflects a conscious, experimental step forward. It’s a sonically adventurous release and stands in stark contrast to the style of “The Albatross,” their debut, which became a flagship for the so-called “emo-revival.” Foxing focused this time on ambient, nebulous instrumental work that’s chock full of effected noise. Loose, ambling song structures supported by a gargantuan bottom end form the perfect channel for the album’s intimate, despondent lyrical themes. “Dealer” dissects the narrator’s darkest times, allowing listeners insight into the kind of experiences that can lay undisclosed for years. Watch the performance here on Audiotree Live and witness a band putting the final touches on the formation of their unique identity in a vast musical landscape.

THANK YOU FOR THIS
King!
the lighting of this session is so beautiful
titlefgt you're beautiful
The music is beautiful
everyone is beautiful....
Been listening to Foxing for a few years and only got to see them play in person this year. Not saying this to be a fan boy but they were the best sounding band I have ever heard. They blew me away with just how talented they all are. You feel every note and change in the song. If you haven't caught them yet. 100% advise you get a ticket.
if I die tomorrow this band has made my life richer.
honestIy who the FUCK hit the disIike button
its rare these days to see an incredible band like this with such a smooth interviewer.
Asking questions that are more interesting than "where'd you get your name" and "which one of you plays the best pranks on tour!?" was a big bonus.
I'm just watching through a bunch of sessions and I really love the guy who interviews here! He seems very nice and friendly and gets along great with the bands. If you're reading this, you are awesome!

@Blake Norris Agree with OP, you are great at this. What do you do these days, man? If you're still out there interviewing bands, I'd be keen to check out your work.
I have been waiting for this day for so long
i cant believe foxing invented music
🤯
u fr ???
mannnnn this was peak Audiotree for me - 2015, 2016, 2017 - some good years in my books and Audiotree been there with these sessions.
Ugh yes
The lighting, the music, the questions
It's all perfect
I just saw these guys while they were opening for Coheed. These dudes were amazing and I've been ingesting everything I can from them since.
While I love and appreciate all the comments here, there is one common view point reoccurring that I disagree with. Dealer is by far leagues beyond the albatross. Lyrically and sonically Foxing produce more than a record. They provided us with an experience. A raw and humble look into the psyche of these artists. When is the last time you heard an "emo" band tackle adult topics. Dealer plays like the soundtrack of a person who has really stepped back and reflected on there choices and regrets. The story within deal is that of "the quiet things that no one ever knows"
Darsel Polite The Albatross was just as much an experience as Dealer. Both records are phenomenal but I will always prefer The Albatross.
Darsel Polite ....completely agreed.....Dealer may be my favorite album of all time....1000× more intricate, ambient, powerful, emotional, and evolved than Albatross and or basically any other bands out there right now...Don't get me wrong, Albatross is great, but Dealer is a masterpiece in every way....like, it's not even fair....they fucking killed it...I'm just worried that their next album won't be able to possibly live up to the new heights that they have escalated themselves to.
Darsel Polite I prefer the albatross just because of nostalgia, but I feel like Dealer is more consistent sonically. Definitely a more refined record.
great comment dude!
Agree so hard with this, they didn't make Albatross 2.0 but instead made something completely different and the risk payed off because its a fucking amazing album
Their live performance is far better than listening to in not in-person, it's how I found them by accident while going to see another band, they're now my favorite, love how life goes like that
The people who disliked the video probably hated conor cutting off his moustache
Foxing is an excellent band. If you have the chance to see them now, please do. If these guys can stay consistent, stay together and continue producing quality music, they are going to be REALLY big.
Carlos Alvarado seeing them tomorrow in Boston!!!
I doubt they will be REALLY big. Bands like this are simply just not comercial. People don't like even remotely challenging listens.
Just saw them in philly for the first time. My god if you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. The feels are unreal
Truly grateful for audiotree
God, i don't know why I had this feeling everytime I hear their music. It makes me feel like, flying, and. Damn I don't know I'm just so into their music. I like this kind of bands, and the lyrics, it is so deep. I like to hear them more, and also hear them live.
Connor with facial hair looks like bob from bobs burgers
Love this band so much, saw them in November of last year and omg. Such a feelsy show that man I was just speechless. Love these guys so much.
0:47 The Magdalene
8:27 Redwoods
12:31 Glass Coughs
17:30 Three on a Match
25:44 Night Channels
30:55 Indica
I miss this era so much
Gosh dang. This band is so good.
This is the only thing that calms my girlfriend lately, thank you dearly
Band snaps
I was supposed to see them live in Austin Texas around November but I missed it because of work and i didn't have a ride
How aren't these guys big yet, I mean like really big. I don't listen to the charts anymore because I see shit like One Direction at number one, like what the actual fuck man! You're telling me that One Direction are better than Foxing!? Foxing are making real music, One Direction and most artists in the charts nowadays make un-original crap that all sounds the same, it's bollocks. When I listen to Foxing it reminds me of the golden age of music (60s, 70s, bit of the 80s) everything has its own identity in song form and represent the band/artist perfectly, none of this fake shit that will only make money. Foxing put real thought into their music. Foxing make real music!
It's just the difference between artists and trend-followers
IntiRaymii that's the corrupted music industry😔
Oh yeah btw I just broke my nose last night, no biggie
I've watched this so many times, and this is the first time I realised that's what he's saying. And he says it so casually! Amazing.
shout out to the drummer and his The Ground Is Lava band tee. If you've never heard of them, they are an old Cleveland band worth checking out
What's that gorgeous melody in the beginning, an actual song by them or just soundcheck?!? It's so fucking pretty.
haha that's "Someday" by Sugar Ray! Must have been playing it for their soundcheck
Hahah oh holy shit man, thank you so much!! I even arranged it acoustically with the same original harmonization and put on my Instagram and tagged them (Foxing), had no clue it could be a song like this ahahah.
Like 98778 views are mine alone.
Didn’t know Tom segura could play drums like that 🤯
young jeff goldblum
16:30
What kind of ride is Jon using?!
+Wilhelm Olsson Or cymbals overall, they sound great!
Wilhelm Olsson Don't know if you were still wondering but he posted a pic on Instagram and it was a Paiste 2002 15" sound edge hats, Paiste 2002 20" Medium crash, and don't know about the ride, just know it was also a 2002 series
lol i'm in STL and i'm from chicago only takes me 4 hours hahaha
De arrepiar muito foda!!
Play Ocelot
We need foxing in audiotree in 2019
just not their newest album with the horses oh man :\
@@Blindside23 you mean their masterpiece?
ResistReact agreed! Wtf! All I want is a third audiotree live with their best album yet.
@@operationfreeworld we've got their amazing tiny desk in the meantime at least!
2020
That sugar ray intro though
Who’s covering it though?
Where’s the full video of that tho?
dude... this slowed down indica is the most beautiful thing I have listened to in a while.
It's technically called Indica Two, Redwoods Two is also stunning.
Honestly I can't choose which album is better. Every time i play foxing im always starting off with bloodhound and ending on three on a march. Albatross gets me fired up while dealer brings me back down and mellows me back out. And on both albums all songs makes me feel what they're trying to project. I love it
Jimmy Fallon's new band is sick
I was looking through the comments to see if anybody else noticed the resemblance!! XD
Can we get them on again for Nearer my God
They seemed to have grown so much, i love this band with a passion.
Still so amazing. Dealer was innovative in the musical cannon of the emo genre but also for the band in general which led them to Nearer My God which again recreated the band's vision and sound and it just is amazing to see their progression and to hold each album so high in their own individual regard. Just a great band that continues to get it right every time. Thank u for ur music :')
watching this while stoned is an experience
Feel that brother
It took me like 20 minutes of humming the song that plays in the intro (before Foxing plays). It was fucking killing me but I finally figured out it's Someday by Sugar Ray.
Foxing are SERIOUS, such love for this band. Too bad Connor broke his nose, I enjoy his trumpet carry on.
I don't listen to the regular album versions of these songs. This is so good.
Production/mixing on this whole thing is perfect.
It's weird to see Conor clean shaven.
Here in 2021 ☝️ forever one of my favorite bands
Will always stick with me as one of the most impactful bands of my youth. These guys are so fucking talented, I can only hope to be at their level someday.
A fan accidentally kicked him and broke his nose the night before this recording. That's what he's showing @ 0:24. Most metal thing I've ever seen was at an emo show. He just got a rag for the blood and finished the set list. So much respect for this band
Singer reminds me of Jeff Goldblum in looks.
don't forget the charm too
@@dyafox7921 absolutely 😉
watched this thinking it was new maybe itll suck but that first song alone was like whattttttt haha
this band is everything
Just a different type band that we need. A cleaner and more fan esque band than Radiohead. They have that potential...
You guys have definitively the best youtube channel, so many band we've discovered through it... simply amazing!
cheers from Switzerland!
Glass Coughs
these dudes are for real
i love every single tiny little thing about this band and i’m so glad they found me, even if it took 4 or 5 years too long ❤️
this is the best audio tree session I've seen yet
I've never really appreciated this album for what is it until today. The band has matured since the albatross. They really pushed themselves with this one. Both in meaning and the overall sound.
love the mix on this
Seen em live. Greatest and most passionate performance I've seen so far
They perform live similar to grizzly bear. Got that good raw emotion 🔥
amazing shit their guitarist is on drugs lol "heady"... "far out" lmaoooo
They have really made some great improvement from their first session, wow!
Make session 3 with NMG stuff happen
Damn.. Logan is always so smooth with what he does.
She must mean Conor, and yes he is smooth
+Sherbert The destroyer Actually. I was making a joke about a Audio Tree member. his name is Logan and you can see him at 36:49
Claytone ohhh that's his name, damn I never paid attention to that guy,
can we get a Balance and Composure session#2 to happen?
I back this 100%
please? 😣
yessss
how has tigers jaw never been on here??
I love Conor 36:29
Hey Audiotree, you guys are cool and so is Foxing :)
love them eternally
Damn congrats on securing the midwestemo username before anyone else!
I know I'm late to this comment, but I also love them eternally. I may have an AJJ profile pic, but Foxing is my favorite band. I keep coming back to this video and just decided to scroll through the comments.
@@migitri haha!! same, my friend!💫
I love everything about this band.
Floxing is best girl
Ok no one is asking what that cover of "someday" by sugar ray is by and I need to know!
these are awesome! you gotta get appleseed cast on here for a session!
5:29 haha awh
Get em back on to do a set from the new album
Anyone here in 2024?
soo goood
Fucking Sugar Ray intro.
no ocelot :/
Fuck, I love you dudes
I don't know how many times I've listened to this, but now's the first time I've noticed that Conor is ripping off paper towel to keep his nose from bleeding. I think I assumed the ripping sound was a cymbal of some sort.
This was pretty fucking fantastic. Hella feeling, but mellow and powerful energy at the same time. I adore it!
Scars. Chest scars. Can’t looking at anything else. Hanging meat hooks?
Just saw these guys play in portland they were incredible
I'm sad there was no french horn in Three On Match
He is so adorable. I just want to give him a hug
I want a sugar ray cover
Superb in every way
In love with min 5:25
the singer looks amazing without facial hair
not sure how i feel about connor's vocals. they sound slightly lazy, and i don't expect pitch-perfection from a live performance anywhere but many times it deviates from what sounds pleasant and blends in with the sound.. don't get me wrong, I love this band so much but.. the lazy sound i hear in connor's vocals turns me off at times, especially with Glass Coughs which is the first song I listened to and is my favorite off Dealer. :/
He broke his nose though man!
He literally broke his nose the day before. I saw them perform a few days later, and he was sounding better. I give him major props for pulling this off, despite the pain he must have been in.
