In premiere pro, make a color matte, scale it to an appropriate size, animate it going from left to right. At text, by pressing T, and type what you want. Next go to effects and type “crop” in the effects box. Then drag it on the text layer, and keyframe it as the same speed of the color matte.

Dont make sense at marker 1.30 when you say you are going down to zero and then put a 2 in the scale horizontal?
Is it possible to do a text reveal like Animal Crossing in AE?
Here is a quicker way to do it.
1. Create text.
2. Create a rectangular shape layer on top of text.
3. Create a white solid on top of the shape layer. (white line in this video)
4. On the Text layer, turn on Inverted Alpha Matte to the Rectangular shape.
5. On the Rectangular shape, link it to the white line.
There you go!

There is much simpler way to do it. Make not a mask but shape square above the text, then alpha matte, then bind (parent) the white line to it.

for anyone wondering where the text mask is, you have to choose the text layer then Layer > New > Mask
The sooner you accept that this is all clients will ever want, the easier your life will get. I don't even do the line anymore and they don't notice.

Couldve used linear wipe instead of rectanglr mask. Good video anyway
Please show the entire screen in your next video so newer users can see everything you are doing. When you zoom in it is difficult to know where you are at on the screen. 👍

how did you click on the mask to adjust it?
Click the selection tool, Try holding shift, and with the mouse left click on the corners of the side you want to move.

It would be nice to see what you're doing in the timeline instead of just describing it. Hard to keep up with "make a keypoint here...then here...and then back here." when you're just showing the layers panel. Or maybe that's my newbie brain not being able to keep up lol
