Yes, Master Leong's lingo is a classic local flavour (Singlish) which most true blue local born are comfortable with. Most importantly, his style is unpretentious, informative and useful... 😊

I'm in my late twenties. My current portfolio 20% in MSCI World, 10% in higher risk bonds (5-6% yield), 20% in SG REITs, 10% in Chinese ETFs, 40% in Alibaba. Currently all of them are in green except REITs.
Every month I'm still DCA-ing into REITs and Chinese ETFs. My plan for this year is to DCA more heavily into REITs, even though I think Chinese ETFs/stock picking can give higher long-term returns and I can take more risk given my profile.
Been bagholding BABA for 4 years, average price DCA-ed from $200+ to $90 lol. Although I never lost confidence, but I learned the importance of diversification. Now that they are finally in the green, I want to focus more on REITs. Now my passive income from REITs/bonds can cover my food and transport expenses. See if it can cover my annual flight tickets in the coming year!
nice! i like your portfolio!
Hey ML, awesome sharing! I can attest to that! Wife and I are retired on dividends at 38 and 42 respectively. Best wishes from Naples, Italy 🇮🇹
wow nice!
Wah now u going international liao. @@MasterLeong888
Dividend investing helps to 'realise' the gains rather than selling the shares. You still have original amount of shares to compound and can choose when to reinvest the div.
@@temasekb yes in a way u are correct. But the problem is… most people end up selling at the wrong time 🤣 when it crashes.
@ You are correct... But to many, protection of their capital is their top priority consideration, which is better than holding and holding in a DOWNTREND... 🙂
Thank you Leong 师傅 for the great advice
Glad I found your video, Master. Really informative...can you share which brokerage do you usually use for your portfolio? Do pardon my ignorance... hope can share some tips on which one is good for DCA 🙏. Cos I have concern on whether to have the custodian account or have shares in CDP better (via poems)
i using discount brokers like tiger moo webull longbridge cause the share custodiandize so i spread my holdings into these 4 discount brokers
put in CDP is safer but commission higher so got pros and cons
the core bulk of portfolio can keep in CDP
fresh funds just use discount broker to DCA lor, do not keep too big amount can already maybe max 20k or 50k in the discount broker
big sum say 100k to 1 mil keep in main CDP account lor, example a portfolio of reits
Many thanks for your advice, Master. Really appreciate it 😊
Excellent idea! My clones will now go out to work while I'll spend time looking for cats to play with.
nice! that is the idea wahahha
@@singaporehifiblog haha it’s quite an analogy! I like it! dividends as ur clones
Master.. what is the best Hang Seng index ETF fund to buy?
2800 www.trahk.com.hk/en-hk/trahk-fund/
lowest fees just 8bps
For younger folks, pls focus on your earned income. Get that up so that you have spare cash to move into dividend stocks !
Hi master leong , my dividend investing is in the US Stock ,but they got 30% witholding tax on dividends. Any suggestion ?
US got 30% dividend tax, US market is go for capital gains
SG/HK market no dividend tax that's why i like reits
Because I bought SCHD , there is stock growth and dividend growth . My only problem is the 30% tax
@@g8-aden891its not worth it SCHD only have 3.8% dividend yield and on top of the 30% tax SG reits alone have a good 6% yield
Thanks
thank you so much for the support huat ah!
I agree with dividend investing. But so far for me, it’s the bank stocks that deliver. I only see REITs dropping in principal value from when I bought them. So the ‘dividends’ they give are not enough to cover my losses. I’ve let quite a few REITs go to cut loss.
reits down 40% from peak already, actually now is best time to buy reits haha
The power of dividends can be greatly enhanced through the compounding effect.just reinvest your dividend gain…Let the snowball roll😊
yes collect dividends then use dividends buy more reits wahahaha
I believe in a basket of income ETFs, Reits, BDCs and dividend stocks.
Master i have about 300k spare cash? Already have 20k CFA reits, what other good reits with 5% dividend can i buy to build a dividend portfolio 😅
300k u can spread among the top 10 blue chip reits lor including my 5 tiger generals mpact mlt fct cict keppel reit
u can also go for ascendas MIT industrial reits
Good topic ML,.
Do you have any strategy to capture dividend.
Or have to buy n hold to collect dividend.
there is no strategy to capture dividends ah
just buy and hold forever
think like a landlord
the NAV per share of the reit increases over time
start of the year NAV 1.00 every month collect rents the NAV keeps going up
5 cents rents collect over 12 months NAV year end becomes 1.05
5 cents dividends declared and paid out
NAV falls to 1.00
you cannot capture the dividends, just hold long term and the chicken will keep laying eggs for u
Tcss very good dividend portfolio enjoy sayang the cats hehe
Hi ML, im actually new to hk market. May i know which should i invest?
Growth - Baba?
Dividends - Link reits?
Im actually 90% on Sg reits (including your 5 tiger general)
10% on S&P500 (Cspx) - im still deciding whether to continue dca as the price is pretty high atm. 😅
Seek for your advice 🙏🏻
see what u want from HK market it has many choices
since u new to HK market to get your feet wet can just buy the index HSI 2800
inside is 30% tech 30% financials 10% property 10% consumer, very diversify
i previously did a guide to HK market here
ua-cam.com/users/liveWmpnxDa-x1s?si=dNjgnXyDLo4FOjtC
so what if the workers in the company that give dividends all got clone. nobody works where the dividend come from?
if everyone has 1 million dollar nobody works wahahaha just kidding
i believe only the top 10% to 20% will be able to do this
the bottom 80% will have to continue working, that's life gg
Master Leong is becoming more and more tokong... 😊
Master, what do you think of CLR etf?
CLR is pure SG reits, can ownself use discount broker buy the top 10 blue chip reits done already no need to use this etf lol
master pls show list of your stocks so we can have guide in building our portfolio
if u got follow my live streams i often show my portfolios in different parts
like reits, financials, tech
last night i got update on my reit portfolio ah

What happens when leases are not being renewed?
then becomes empty the occupancy rate drops
@MasterLeong888 oh. Would it not affect the dividend investment yield bro?
What about capital loss? CFA reit etf is down almost 20% since start of 2023
CFA down 40% from peak
ua-cam.com/users/livet15gnj-U4lM?si=Rj0896S9u2s6BbmC
reits now trading at 20% discount to book which is a very attractive valuations
historically u get 5% to 8% returns from investing in blue chip reits even after this 40% crash
not for those buying now. it's almost unlikely to drop another 20% so the dividend is more or less safe.
yes limited down side for sure hehehe
If US market is overvalue, itsin sg property even more overvalue? Still worth buying?
Something I don't understand, if stock give 10% dividend means the stock price drop 10% right? If stock don't give dividend, you can choose to sell 10% every year, it's like getting 10% dividend isn't it (and skipping the 30% dividend tax for US stocks)? Got big difference meh? 🤔
Example I have 1 dollar NAV which is 100% in shopping mall property
it collects rentals worth 5 cents
by year end the NAV will become 1.05
it pays out the 5 cents dividends
NAV falls back fro 1.05 to 1.00
instead of paying out the rental as dividends the company can retain it to acquire more assets
REITS the structure is that they must pay 90%-100% of rentals collect out as dividends
Nowadays not many knows about portfolio management. All they knows is buy low and sell high. A balance portfolio should contain growth stock, dividend stock n bond or any defensive investment. For younger investors, they should put more in growth and slowly grow the dividend side using the gain from growth stock. Then slowly move heavy in dividend or defensive investment.
yeah well said
Power of dividend! 🎉
Must have a lot of cash first
slowly build lor
i also just started buying my dividend portfolio last year
everything month i throw 2k whack reits its like feeding the baby, eventually it can become my clone lol
for me in my younger self, I think will put more on growth company instead on dividend. But will still buy both
Yeah when young can go for growth later stage then shift towards dividend also can
In my 30s i was 100% growth
Now in my 40s i trying to be half growth half dividends 😂😂😂
Hi Master, will there be or is there already a video on OCBC FY 2024 result?

nooo age 36 no need to go study and get cert already, you can learn everything you need online for free on youtube! lol
u see me age 40 to age 42 i learn new skills and became a full time youtuber
u like financial and investment analysis go library read books lor on this topic u read a few weeks see u really can understand or not

i also got cover other SGX consumer stocks like ThaiBev and Kimly Coffee Shop
原来你是用 复制自己 这个概念,good idea。 😄
thanks for support, glad u like my this idea
so growing our dividend portfolio from 10k to 1million is like growing a baby into an adult
every month we DCA put money in to feed the baby
once the clone becomes completed it works for us
gives us 5k monthly passive income wahahahaha
My current portfolio is 46k on dividend, 2k in growth in HK. Lack of budget to catch up to the China and HK train. Sad.....
everyone the portfolio size different de, the key thing is to keep growing it
some people can save 10k a month some people can only save 1k a month
just consistently putting in 1k a month over a few years and compounding at a good return you will see 6 or even 7 figures soon
@MasterLeong888 Thanks Master for your advise.
Master leong you are right, I'm now starting to invest in reits, my clone now not even baby, its an infant so hard, but u give me motivation I will raise it to be stronger than meow meow hahahaha
from meow meow become power mewtwo pokemon hehehe
Hi ML, u achieved early retirement thanks to your dividends ?
I am on barista FIRE
my 3 source of income is UA-cam, Property Rental, Stock Dividends
Hi ML is it too greedy if invest $10k on CFA reit?
no ah, i last year bought 25,000 shares of CFA reit etf at 77 cents using CPF OA
6% yields beat the CPF OA 2.5% ma
If Dividend stock price is volatile, does that mean my dividend payout varies too? 😅
If that stock price is volatile then it is not a dividend stock
stock price = capital gains or losses
dividends is stable and consistent, you have to pick the right dividend blue chip lol
My portfolio now 60% dividend, 40% growth. Tho still young haha. Coz dividend less volatile than growth. If it is down, can wait while collecting dividend. Growth wise, mostly in hk market 😅
wow your power of dividends very heavy leh, u so young can go for more growth but yeah do what we more comfortable safer
power of CD huat ah!
@ now everything pumped up except baba. I very heavy at baba alr haha. So dk wat to buy, then buy reits more. Wait till got other opportunities for growth 😅
I love the idea of creating a clone.
glad u like my idea and sharing kekekeke
Dividend = Capital. Everytime ex-date the stock price drop accordingly
Example I have 1 dollar NAV which is 100% in shopping mall property
it collects rentals worth 5 cents
by year end the NAV will become 1.05
it then pays out the 5 cents dividends
NAV falls back fro 1.05 to 1.00
REITS the structure is that they must pay 90%-100% of rentals collect out as dividends
All in yzj shipbuilding . Sure huat.

My former remiser told me buy sussuer, netlink, citc, ireit. All underwater.
wah all these sounds like sampan reits leh... oh noooo
think u follow us buy solid blue chip reits safer, sleep well at night
CICT and Netlink I feel still ok
Ireit and Sasseur reit these 2 really is super sampan gg
Bought 5 years ago sold off in 2024 and bought Pltr at least in the green now.
Heard your background sound... maybe to get a DJI bluetooth mic to achieve best sound effect.
thanks for suggestion
halfway through the video hor
opposite me got the bangala using machine cutting grass hahaha
My opinion is, dividend is not always guaranteed. The business can do badly sometimes hence impacting the dividend payout
That is why some effort is still needed to learn finances and manage your portfolio.
yes that's why avoid sampan reits only go for the most solid boats that will not sink haha
Hence, u have to be diversified, unlikely for all companies to do badly all the time.
Today is Alibaba earning ?
nope they have not announced the date yet
