His breath control is breathtaking, his phrasing beyond words, his color blue but dark, his pitch 'another ballgame' & his expression celestial... what can I say.....
OMG. THIS GENTLEMAN IS EXQUISITE.SUPERB. GORGEOUS BEAUTIFUL VOICE. PLUS HE IS HANDSOME. I WILL LOOK HIM UP TO BUY HIS STUFF ON CD'S. STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL.
I'm a big appreciator of Scott Walker and the Walker Bros. I love ON YOUR OWN AGAIN (my favorite song of all time) but I somehow never paid attention to his rendition of this classic. Another NEW fave in my book! Damn...
I've never heard of this guy (I've never been into pop music), but this is a fine performance of one of my favorite songs! You had to be selling a lot of records or putting a lot of bodies in seats to get an orchestra like this (and with a very nice chart) behind you for a recording session.
..this track of performance by Scott Walker, is .Brilliantly sung, orchestrated...this is one m/fing track.......I tip my head to you...kindly, Danny Barrett
Scott Walker was an amazing performer. He hated all the adulation he recieved. He wasn't really a pop singer, although he had hit records. He had his own idea of where his music was going. It wasn't in a commercial direction but he was happy with what he was doing.
I hate to read 'was' in your comment, but sadly it is true. We will never hear his beautiful voice on new recordings. Although he was a pop singer and idol in the 60's/70's I still found his more recent music very interesting ... and I still love his voice so much. I'll never tire of listening to him ever ..........
Christine Scott Scott still sings Christine . Yes he is more into the jazz, perhaps country and different side of things but he is still working as hard and well as ever. Bless him ❤️👍
I've got practically everything he ever did on vinyl and cd but didn't like bisch bosch . After his death bbc 4 did a documentary and it showed the making of that album and seeing him in the studio it made sense. As you say he walked a different path
Roxana Castro True! My late husband would have appreciated Scott if only he could have hidden his jealous loathing of Scott. I believe they would have got on very well, so many similarities.
I think one reason that Scott stands above his peers is his deep, baritone voice. His handsome, youthful appearance combined with this beautiful, deep voice give him a special quaility.
Bob Francis He had no peers. He did and does stand alone. He was 21 when he sang lead on their no 1’s. the Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Any more and Make it Easy on Yourself. Prior to those, John had been lead singer. Scott is now 75 years old and still has a youthfulness about him.
Almost certainly in the arrangement of Wally Stott (Angela Morley). I think I know why this didn't make the final cut. It is fractionally too slow; the pulse is in danger of being lost. A slight up-tempo move (perhaps closer to Sinatra's legendary version) would definitely have put it as a contender.
Lovely song and photo 💯👍🤗❤️👏👏👏👏👏

And he still is David Walsh.

@@christinecronje4704 why would Scott walker care about your husband

I wish he had a bigger career he is on the same level as Sinatra Bennett Williams and Monro
Wenn nicht besser
als diese😮
Sinatra wurde doch eh überschätzt.
some man
does anybody know if this was unreleased? i didn't see this song on any of his solo albums online, thanks.
Outtake from “Scott” in 1967 i think

I feel it's perfect. He wouldn't have wanted it like Sinatra
That's interesting, I would take this over the others but that's just me though...
This is "authentic", matches the lyrics. Up the tempo and it loses it's unique quality.
Anyone have a link to a higher quality version of this track?
