Its always so amazing for me when you have such a stark contrast in the care you take on an old tree such as this versus starter material. So much more precision and detailing needed on old trees. Well done Jason 😁
I love your videos, you work on such incredible trees & update previously shown trees your channel is just fantastic thank you for your dedication & content.!
What an honor (and responsibility) to have been asked work on this particular 300 year old bonsai!! An acknowledgement and appreciation of your talent and skills. You were so very calm and collected as you worked. It seems you had worked on this tree before. How long ago?Several other questions please: 1.) When was the tree's first styling and potting? Was that the pot Mr. Naka chose? 2.) Will you fertilize? 3.) Is there anything that can be done to highlight and almost make the live veins look as if they were polished? 4.) Are there any pictures or drawings of how Mr. Naka last styled this tree? Such a wonderful posting. Thank you.
hello Jason, nicely updated! I like the new front side, but it's a John Naka tree so personally leave the original side! that's my opinion good work on the tree.
I'd give anything to be able to see a collection of John's works live, in person. I've never actually been up close and personal with a true Bonsai work. My trees are not Bonsai, ( maybe someday a real artist will take them to that level, ) so I haven't ever been close to serious works of art. Beautifully done.
New front looks good! Love that it’s up to his family to decide. Respect to him, the family, and the tree! Nicely done!
You’ve given another great review of how you can redesign/reshape any bonsai - from young to very aged. Simple and straight forward. Keep them coming.
Stunning!!!!!! Just stunning! An art form that is awe inspiring and miraculous! Such a joy to watch, and the tree is absolutely magical!

I think you are right about the new front!!
Indeed, better angle, the original is too static
I liked it better too.
Would you keep this 300 year old bonsai indoors?
hello Jason, nicely updated! I like the new front side, but it's a John Naka tree so personally leave the original side! that's my opinion good work on the tree.
I'd like to know why his tree looks like that , if other masters have been taking care of it?
Oh the days of searching for California Junipers. Where is John’s trees.
