This is excellent! Thank you! I’m exploring getting into this hobby with zero previous experience and it can feel overwhelming! My kids are also extremely interested so I was trying to wrestle with the scaling problem; how could I scale files down to fit my kids… and you’ve presented a solution! Thank you for your great videos and hard work!
Sir Knight 3d printing is great! A suggestion is to do a couple small prints first because the printer will often have problems that you don’t want to have mess up your 4 day print
This is absolutely INCREDIBLE - a couple friends and I are going to do some clone cosplay later this year - the only problem is, I’m a female; how would I go about shaping the armor differently so it fits comfortably? Would I have to make a design myself from scratch?
Thank you! With 3d printing you can actually scale the files up or down depending on your body style. I have really big thighs so I scaled them up 20% or so and they fit a lot better
started my phase 1 clone finally after a year of practicing model making and 3d print finishing. just got my cr10s 2 days ago and been sizing up the etsy files parts. Sadly i wont have money for Armorsmith for about a month so kinda jumping the gun and trying to test it out by printing the hand and for arm and resizing it after testing it. im 5'10" and it looks like its parts are printed at 112.5%ish. Both yourself @Galactic Armory and Ace Cosplay are the inspiration to actually create this costume and fulfill my love of star wars.
TheOverConfidentBroadcast so far 100% though 105% might have been better. Me neither a mate did a redid the hand to be more movie accurate...printing first one now.. And that's and the original is at 112% and same for forarms as that means I can put hand through the holes...can't get mine through the 100%.... Best idea is to use mesh, oxen and cut a bit off of the ends and print them to give idea of scale you want for parts
TheOverConfidentBroadcast also the back plates gribblies are rotated 180 inside it so you need to separate shells I'm mesh mixer and use boulian difference to cut holes into the back so you can print all the bits and slot them in later
Just stumbled across your series...INSTANTLY SUBSCRIBED!! I just started my Stormtrooper armor build with my CR-10s. Forearms fit, but I can't squeeze my hand through the ends!! Hoping to see some tips here, so I don't have to completely reprint the thing! ;-)
I recently bought a 3D printer after watching some of your videos, and looking through your store I saw the Clone Commando helmet, but I did not find a commando armor set. Is there any armor sets that you can recommend?
I purchased your Phase 2 clone armor and the Back Plate is Manifold per meshmixer and I am unable to plane cut it to fit on my printer bed since it is not solid . Please fix or advice
Never knew of Armorsmith until you mentioned it. Going to buy it cheers. So you print all your cosplay from PLA? How do you find it, does it not warp in hot climates? Oh and what thickness do you print at? Is something along the lines of 6mm ok with 3 walls and an infill of maybe 20%?
It's a very useful program, definitely recommended! Yes all my parts are printed in PLA. ABS might be better but you need an enclosure. Unless you leave your armor in a hot car in summer you should be okay with PLA though. I typically do 3 outer layer walls and only 5% infill to cut down on weight
Thank you very mutch for these informations because i am only 13 years old and need a special produced armor and thought about to buy a 3d printer.i had in my mind that i need some sort of software and because if you i found the softwares that i needed.thank you very very mutch
Man, i just cant wait until 3D printers will become affordable, like normal ones. When you live in poorer country equivalent od 400 bucks is just too much to just buy random stuff. I know there are cheaper ones, but when it comes to this kind of stuff you want at least good quality.
trooper12345 6 You can get basically a smaller version of the printer he is using for $200. It can do almost everything it can except you will have to do some stuff in multiple parts then put them together due to the size difference (the one in the vid is bigger than most printers)
I'm curious about the boots/shoes. on the model page in the video, it looks like the boots/shoes are also 3D printed parts, but I can't imagine how wearing that would be. How do we get or make those boots properly?
In my opinion, yes. I usually have a lot more problems with my cr10's than my CR10S's. Plus you can flash the firmware on the Cr10s to have much better software than what cones standard
@@GalacticArmory how long did the chest take in hours though im considering getting a 3d printer for all my cosplay and wanted a rough estimate the machine im getting is 120-150 mm/s and has a bed of 300x300x400
There’s a UA-camr called Ryzer, he created a Clone Trooper armor made out of foam. Search for his videos, the final armor looks awesome, but i think it looks a bit like the clone wars show.
Hello I'm totally new to this I found a 3d printer longer lk4? For $159.00, 220 x 220x 240 I want to print stormtrooper armor can this size print that if the sections are broken up I cannot afford the bigger printers and saw this , one video shows using a similar printer and printer a helmet in several pieces just wondering if this would be a good buy or a just wait moment
It would depend on the printer but you can definitely print anything on any sized printer. You might just need to cut the model into more pieces. That's a pretty good price for a printer though
@@GalacticArmory thanks like I said I'm new to this been watching all your videos was trying to do an Eva foam armor not happy with how clean it's turning out and saw Amazon sale has a printer for 159 with a print size of 220x 220 but I don't want to waste time or money
Blasters are a lot more straight forward because they have one absolute size. Armor has a lot more measurements to account for. I'll definitely be making a blaster as part of my armor though.
Hey i would like to ask you something, i will buy a clone trooper set from internet but i need to make it more tough and rescale for my body bcz of i will use it with motocycle could u help me pls ?
Mert Adem Ali hey mate I’m with the 501st legion and I’m just going to say it if your 3D Printing clone arm for a motorcycle you will probably kill yourself it will not keep you safe mate best to just go get Custom motorbike gear made it will cost more but It will keep you alive
Those armors are usually just one single peace (the model) so to use it you would need to by hand in blender or some other program separate all the pieces and whatnot. Also, game models are not going to be the same level of detail that armor IRL would have so you could, but you would need to put a ton of work into it anyhow and it wouldn't look as good as armor made from scratch for this purpose.
the emotion when you just order exactly THIS 3d printer to do starwar cosplay for the first time and few minutes later you find this video.. priceless
Tom's Reef I wonder if it is going well for him.
And? How far have you got?
Wait you mean good emotion right?

Prusaslicer with the correct drivers

I would recommend the anycubic mega zero 2.0, it’s what I’m going to be getting, it’s only a quarter of a thousand dollars
If I had the money to buy 4 3d printers I could buy a premade and pre-painted clone armour on Etsy
Or you could just get one and wait a little longer
