Quantum-mechanical analysis of the MO method and VB method from the position of PQS. The MO method and the VB method are analyzed using the principle of quantum superposition (PQS) and the method of describing a quantum system consisting of several parts. It is shown that the main assumption of the molecular orbitals method (namely, that the molecular orbital can be represented like a linear combination of overlapping atomic orbitals) enters into an insurmountable contradiction with the principle of quantum superposition. It is also shown that the description of a quantum system consisting of several parts (adopted in quantum mechanics) actually prohibits ascribe in VB method to members of equation corresponding canonical structures. Using the quantum superposition principle, the MO method and the VB method were analyzed and it is shown that they are in contradiction with quantum mechanics. Also, using the quantum-mechanical description of a system consisting of several parts, it is shown that the attribution of canonical structures to the members of the equation is incorrect. Therefore, both the MO method and the VB method did not describe molecules with chemical bonds but actually, a lot of atoms (of which the described molecules consisted). That is, in the quantum chemical calculations, the chemical bond was "lost". Therefore, in order to "introduce" a chemical bond into calculations and avoid conflict with quantum mechanics, it is suggested to postulate the existence of MO as a new fundamental quality that describes a specific chemical bond and is not derived from simpler structural elements. Such a fantastic video giving the clear and distinctive information by the experienced teachers. Must watch!! to increase the knowlegde about this topic.
Sir wrote -1/2 for clockwise spin and +1/2 for anticlockwise spin. But in MH Board book it is given that -1/2 for anticlockwise and +1/2 for clockwise also but in diagram -1/2 for clockwise and +1/2 for anticlockwise pg.no 64. What is right?

Anushka Dandawate Yeah she is right it is our choice to take clockwise +1/2 or -1/2 and samw for anti clockwise. But remember if one is taken +1/2 other will always be -1/2.

Sir √m(m+1)h/2π or mh/2π are same things or not??
“Interesting and completely different to most other modules. Useful lecture
notes with many useful diagrams”
CLlockwise and anticlockwise spin ur explaining oppositely...plz recheck..
Team m learning and it's lecture are so awesome 👌👌
Great teaching and Great platform.
sir, in previous video you said z-component of angular momentum is given by √m(m+1). but now you said m.h/2π
Is both are same thing.
According to my calculation their is a difference of 0.5
The Invincible -Ajeet yadav
I also noticed the same so was searching for this comment only
I also have the same confusion.
Brilliantly explained topic sir
Wonderful. Very simple to
Very knowledgeable and helpful video
A very nice and helpful video
Awesome video! All the best ,keep doing!!
It really cleared my all doubts
Incredible lecture...
excellent teaching faculty
What is the property of aximotal q,n number it's why not has perfect statement once you say that statement
gained a lot from you sir
wesome video! All the best ,keep doing!!
Wow sir greater than others
Great Explanation
there is mistake i think(27.00) ,,,,for any orbit n there are (2n-1) orbitals not 2n.square orbitals
Amazing concept
Very useful for class 11th students
your videos are amazing. i just luv your way of teaching. but plz make ur videos free
Very helpful and useful for exams
Adorable vedio
Amazing!
best explanation sir
very well explained
thank you for helping

Well taken the class
sir i have a doubt that
clockwise spin is 1/2 or -1/2 ? As in your lecture i think it os wrong
so plz reply me.
it is totally on us which direction v take as positive or negative
yes u r right,,,,, it is positive when clockwise,,,,,
there are many mistakes in video dont follow him

Very useful
loved it
very good
Amazing
Nice one
clear cut explanation
