Great video! LG refrigerator, loud grinding noise, like motor being jammed. Stops when doors opened

Thanks for watching. It's possible that the evaporator fan is faulty. In certain models the fan will stop running when the door is open. ua-cam.com/video/bFnRDnNU388/v-deo.html

GE fridge making intermittent whining noise. Driving me nuts. Sounds loudest when I open the freezer drawer below.

Thanks for watching. If the sound gets louder when you open the freezer drawer then it's likely an issue with the evaporator fan: ua-cam.com/video/bFnRDnNU388/v-deo.htmlsi=HWZV0CzPbav_TPrg

@@AmreSupply Thank you. I suspected the evap fan. But I stumbled into something else. I had shut off the water to the icemaker, but forgot to turn the icemaker off. Flipped it off and it stopped whining. If it comes back the evap fan will be next......well it lasted 2 hours and now its whining loud again.

@@arnoldfrackenmeyer8157 If the whining is from the evaporator fan, then it will correspond to the compressor running. Every time the compressor runs, the fans will run as well.
Following the steps in the video you fan access the freezer by removing the panel. One way of testing would be to disconnect the evaporator fan, and then let the unit run. If the compressor runs, and there is no whining, then it was the evaporator fan.

Brand new fridge 1of2 identical makes rattling noises whenever motor runs. Dreading lugging it back to Costco. Other fridge running smoothly. Any suggestions?

Thanks for watching. It is likely the condenser fan or the evaporator fan but it could be a loose screw or a plastic panel that is vibrating. If you slide the refrigerator out, try to listen to where the sound is coming from.
If it is under warranty then it's best to not remove or replace any parts this can sometimes void the warranty but it can still be good to see what is the actual problem is. If you decide to repair it we have more videos on this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLCo9SMjkdWBxXf2GEiSiunxAlN3ENxXGq.html

    Intense grinding noise

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  23 дні тому +1

If it's coming from behind the refrigerator down low then it's likely the condenser fan. If it's coming from within the freezer then it's likely the evaporator fan.

@AmreSupply luckily it's under warranty so I don't have to spend a dime on this, but at least it's good to know for future reference.

How about loud clanging noises? I have a samsung fridge and ever since it's been repaired by a third party it started having this clanging noise

Thanks for watching. Are you able to narrow down where that sound is coming from?
      Is it an intermittent sound?
Does it happen anytime a fan runs?
Listen carefully and see if you can make out any patterns, that will help you determine what could be the cause.

I have a French door styled Samsung refrigerator and I am getting a sharp quick burst humming sound at different intervals...seems to be coming from the door...hard to detect because this sound is not consistent and only lasts for seconds.

@@claytonmitchell4502 Thanks for watching. It's worth trying to lookup your model to see what components are in the door. www.amresupply.com/lookup
If you have an ice maker or water dispenser then it's worth taking a look that. As well a control board in the board might cause some buzzing.
Is the refrigerator still working properly or have you noticed a change in function?

@@AmreSupply Thanks for responding...however I actually got the situation remedied. I realized that the ice maker was on and this device is not hooked up to any water source. I later turned off the ice maker and the sound was no more.

My fridge makes a whining sound off and on. The compressor is working and it stays cold pretty well. I think it's coming from the freezer but I'm not sure.

We're glad the video was able to help explain the context a bit better! The sizzling noise is definitely a bit odd at first!
