I start orientation on the 25th in Atlanta. I’m really excited. I love how meticulous you are with your inspections. That’s a fantastic trait for this industry. Stay safe!
Why's your right side hood mirror so far to the right? It should be more to the left. Also that red lug cover under the hood on passenger right side of the engine should be put over the positive lug..dot will get you on that
Great video. Thanks for it. I’m going to Schneider next month for the apprentice program. Looking so forward to this career change. The showing of how to couple was what I wanted to see. Thanks.
Damn you remind me of my home girl back home 💯💯 .. I look forward to watching more of your videos might see you on the road one day . I start with Schneider Next month on the 24th. Little nervous but it shouldn’t be to bad i drove OTR Box trucks for 3 years so hopefully it’s somewhat the same!! Good luck and be safe out there !!
Thanks for the support Dee! Good luck on the 24th, I think you’ll like it here. And wow OTR box trucks? Never heard of that. Good for you man, welcome to the team!
Fly out for the CAT program Monday! Im excited and Love your orientation videos, really helped put everything in perspective for me 💪🏿 Good Luck out there Driver. stay safe, Im up next 🥳🥳 #RookieSeason
I like watching your vid up dates, don't ever get tired of checking that kingpin lock,!seriously your ever away from your truck your young n healthy check that someone hasn't pulled your 5 th wheel lock, and do a tug test, good habits never die, check that oil,it tells a lot about you, your engine especially,.color, smell, chk for milky tone to it your doin it 👍 right.you must have had good training and were paying attention most drivrs talk about weight and sliding the trailer on the tandems by now😉When your next tswift don't let any of it ruboff on ya,...ya handled that runroundbs with style grace.!
I didn't check the engine area at night either. I always checked underneath for leaks though. Checking oil or tryna fill fluids in the dark was never my strong suit. 😂 The mornings were all about the engine in an anal manner. 🤭 The dipstick in a 4-wheeler gets wiped off for accuracy. Why wouldn't a tractor be done the same way? I've found oil way above the full line when first pulling it out. Upon wiping and reinserting, it was just under half and needed more. If I had left it... wiping only takes a second. Whoever said that... I feel sorry for that truck they're driving. 😢 I love that driving. All the preparation to ensure the truck is good and safe to drive is part of the enjoyment. I used to love knowing I was legal and safe when those wheels began to turn. 😅 Love the videos! I appreciate you sharing your journey. I hope to run into you someplace one day to thank you in-person. It definitely has helped me to get my nerves in-order before restarting in this profession. Much love from northern MN. 😁 Note: I was shown how to find satellite pictures of unknown stops. There you can mentally prepare where to pull in and see the hut, layout beforehand. I found that helped immensely.
I once forget to check the lights, turn out one was dead. Luckily it was an old trailer and I just said screw it and popped it out and took another from a different trailer.
@@rookierodrigo1481 2017, that's a little older than I would of expected from Schneider. btw, I'm heading to Wilmer the end of this month for orientation. I'm scheduled for a regional route when done.
TODAY IS 2-5-2022 are you still driving for SCHNEIDER? I am thinking of driving for them. Let me know if I should run away . I love your videos. THANK YOU
Of course. It’s a learning curve. You’re going to run into situations that school can’t prepare you for. But you will learn the best that way! Don’t be afraid to ask for help and GET OUT AND LOOK! we can only learn by doing. You’ll be a pro in a month
Yes I got paid. But I’m paid by the day. I don’t get paid by the hour or mileage. If I show up for work that day I get paid. Whether it’s 30 minutes or 12 hours.

I know I’m sorry lol! I’ve been so busy that the only time I have to make videos is while I’m driving! 😂 I took a dedicated account doing regional. I only been solo for about a month. I’ll be making tons of videos to catch you guys up!
Not sure if you will see this, but after you completed the third week with the TE, did you return home and have downtime? Or were you ready with your own assigned truck right away? Thank you for the videos!

I didn't have a roommate and I knew some guys who lived in the area and had their girlfriends come visit or stay the night. If you dont have a roommate it should be fine
I run a dedicated account so the customers we drop the loads for allow us to park there, if I don’t feel like staying there for the night. I drive back to my car and go home. We have very few truck stops in Massachusetts/ New England so they fill up quick.
@@rookierodrigo1481 I'm subbing just because your response was epic, I'll have to remember that one 🤣 about to start my journey as a trucker and your vids have been helpful. Keep it up
Rookie, I love and respect the LGBT but you look and sound like a cute 15 year old boy to the old folk in management. Stick with Schneider until your skin thickens with leathery wrinkles, and your voice grows out of puberty. Maybe then you'll get the respect you deserve.

@@rookierodrigo1481 BTW, I am a new hire at Schneider. I will be doing the Western Region starting Monday, 1/17/22. I chose Schneider for the following reasons; (1) It's one of the few major trucking firms that hire newbie Class A truckers, (2) Schneider has a GREAT safety training program, and (3) Schneider treats it's new recruits like we really matter. Another great thing, for me, is their focus on the trucking FUNDAMENTALS. I COULD have made more money at other companies but I wanted to start with a great FOUNDATION. Schneider is providing me with that foundation. One thing Schneider is NOT known for is HIGH SALARIES. If, after 6 months, I find I'm making peanuts RELATIVE to what other trucking companies pay, I will move on; I have Old Dominion LTL dialed in because the terminal is just a few miles from my home and drivers there are being paid more for their labors. I want to thank you for all the great info you are dishing out to the newby trucker community.
