Elliot, You should be proud of yourself and I'm sure many British people are proud of you being an ambassador of British English and English culture. I can't stop watching your videos and forwarding them to my friends and students. Your clarity in pronunciation, your pace of delivery, your word choice are all so appropriate for second/foreign language learners to follow. Without a doubt, I subscribed your channel when I first watched it. Definitely I learn a lot from you and will show them to my students. Pls keep up your good work!!! I have become your big fan. Lots of appreciation and support from Hong Kong.
For a 15-year-old adolescent. Every time as I’m watching your video instrumental, it should be a very enjoyable and elated process since I could hear and feel the most authentic and received British pronunciation, which benefits me too much. Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the video, it's very useful, but this time it's very difficult. It's quiet easy to understand and hear the difference between each syllable stress but when you speak "in the real life" you don't have the time to think about this ! The key : Practise, Practise, Practise !
Thank you for addressing this...it’s exactly what I noticed about speaking with different accents...intonation, syllable & sentence stress, emphasis, etc...For this kind of thing, you’re undoubtedly the best teacher out there :)🇨🇦😊👍🏼
Thank you for your lesson explaining the difference and rule between noun and verb with two syllable words. It's extremely useful to listen and pronounce them correctly.
Hi Elliott!!I am so happy that you made this video. I wanted this a few days ago actually and when I checked your UA-cam channel surprisingly I found it so THANK YOU SO MUCH
Hello dude, I'm from Indonesia. 🇲🇨Thanks for your video. This is really useful for improve my skill English. Highly appreciated and respectful for you. 🙏
I love English so much! The funny thing is that I probably use the right stresses without thinking. But when you said there was a difference, I suddenly got very worried :D anyway, a great video. Very informative, it's great to see "behind the scene" of a language, it makes me understand the small notions that make it up even better.
Hi Elliot 🙋🏼♀️ Great as always The word ( addict ) coming in my mind now . ADDict and addICT ( the stress here limited whether if it was verb or noun )
Great content to work on. I'm an English teacher and often face these pronunciation intonations that I work on with pupils learning English as a second language. Their own dialects are so set, that it's quite difficult getting pupils to change their syllable pronunciation to a more British "way of speaking"....Thanks...
Absolutely brilliant content and delivery. Serious skills here! Thank you for your valuable contribution. I'm etching ever closer to a British English accent thanks to you.
I'm honestly happy and enjoy listening your lesson, I found out very interesting to learn with you, even though it's not so easy to speak like a British accent.. Have a very gud day Elliott
@John SmithHello there, perhaps you right but I really love to speak like Elliott, instead of to speak wt a clear pronunciation. BTW John thanks for your advice, hv a pleasant day
Hello teacher. Thanks for the update. Hope you always in a good shape so that you can keep updating us on how to pronounce English British correctly ✌🏻
Hi! Elliott You're the great in making the videos which are more interesting than educational , i appreciate. But i want you to make it more fascinating them just, you've to to tell the layout of the video in the start . for example " today I'm going to talk about this words or sentence "signpost" do mentioned them how to pronounce and how to use them in sentences , then it'll have a positive impact on audience. Just like the BBC programme "BBC Learning English". and you're the best and i love watching and learning from yours videos.
saya indonesian, english saya tidak bagus, tapi melihat kamu memberikan pelajaran englsh, saya suka dan mudah memahami apa yang anda ucapkan, terimakasih ETJ
Love your work dear teacher. Would you opine why English actors can do quite a good America accent while American actors do a horrid English accent example Captain Jack Sparrow and Lara croft. Jacklyn Bisset said all an English actor has to do to pull off an American accent is to say been instead of bean! Hope you will answer this one??
Was almost fooled by Blake Lively in her latest movie The Rhythm Section not only does she look British her accent was 90 percent accurate some of her last words in a sentence were American not British, looked her up she is American! But Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie could not fool anyone #American.
Hey Elliott! It is really awesome for me to found you and so much helpful to bring me in London "hopefully soon" actually I have been looking for British accent for many years so yeah thank you so much for always here for me LOL😊 appreciate you Elliott👍
Hey Elliott! I had a pronunciation test today and your videos have helped me a lot already. But apparently I still have to work on my o-sounds (abroad, bought, lawn...) and apparently office clerk is pronounced “office clark”, and Berkshire is “Barksje”. Would you mind making a video about that? (The o and a sounds) I love your videos! Love, a language student studying British English 😁
Hello Eliot👋🏻could you please make a video about the TONE? Because I find that if I speak english word by word,it's sounds like British. But if i say it in sentense,it just boom...and please keep making videos,I love your channel so much❤️keep it up
Is it possible to talk about the phrase ‘take it for granted’? I have googled it but still doesn’t make much sense to me. I listen to your videos regularly and they are really helpful. Thank you very much.
Hey from Algeria! Your videos are awesome The only problem I have is that because my teacher is American I find it really difficult not to switch to her accent 😩 Thank you Sir
How come I never even heard about this before? Seriously...this is not a minor point, it should be mentioned very early. Thanks Elliott! interesting that I often hear 'objection' in court (in movies of course) stressing 'ject(ion)' - I guess it's because the suffix tells us it's a noun but the pronunciation "adjusts" to the original word (which is a verb)
English is just like any other language very easy to learn if you are sorrounded by pple speaking that particular language ...like i have learnt arabic and spanish just by listening
If I got it right, basically in a noun we stress the first syllable, whist for a verb that usually occurs in the second syllable. Is it correct? I'd like to see a video about the use of "for" and "to". I still get confused when using prepositions. Thank you for the video, keep up the good work!!!
thanks again Elliot.....but is australian and new zealand english considered british english? some times they seem to be quite similar in sounds....I'll be glad to get an answer from you....cheers...regards from Brazil....
Elliot, I enjoy your lessons so much. You are the best regarding british pronnounciation. Could you tell me how to pronounce "cherry tomatoes"? I have heard so many times as "sherry tomatoes". Thank you in advance.
