I remember one time in Boston I asked where the men's room was, and you should have seen the guys face. The look he gave me, you would have thought I had said the most bigoted statement in the world. Apparently, it's either mixed or women's in many areas in Boston
Santa Cruz, California should be on here too. They always talk about how enclusive and welcoming they are till you actually go there and get verbally attacked by all the "welcoming" locals.
I do notice one characteristic they all seem to have in common, a history of and current conditions of a wide wealth gap between the richest and the poorest residents. They are not the only places in the US like that by a long shot, but perhaps that with those added other pressures make people...well, more irritable.
I've personally visited and agree with Boston and Las Vegas. Don't agree with Houston as I've visited and didn't experience any rudeness. Surprised New Orleans didn't make the list as I almost got into a fist fight on Bourbon ST because some random guy wanted to say slick things to my wife. Surprised New York City isn't #1 on the list. When I think of Memphis, I don't think of rudeness. Haven't been to Philly, but meet a lot of people from Philly and agree with them being rude.
People from Philadelphia will brag about how bad Philly is, and then get angry when you agree with them. 😂
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
NYC has to be tops.
There is a difference between bluntness and rudeness.
NYC people think being mean is an olympic sport.
"NYC people think being mean is an olympic sport." 😂😂
