This is giving me Shadow Warrior vibes, and that's a good thing. Devs are from Poland and worked on Painkiller, so maybe there are ex-Flying Wild Hog staff working on this?
Maybe, I don´t know. But I will send them an interview request, I have some other interviews already scheduled for Everspace 2 and Humanitz, maybe the Witchfire devs are also interested in an interview. I would love to know more about there backgrounds and ideas.
This type of game it always comes down to is the death loop fun, ive read their timeline they are adding a LOT of content in 2025 , its full release is in end of 2025
A quick logistical question: do you lose gear when you die? I know you mentioned crafting material, but I'm wondering if you have an out of game stash to manage. You said it was an extract, and that's usually what that means. Just trying to get clarification.
It is not that harsh, you loose XP and some stuff that is useful on your runs, like keys to open chests and feathers to unlock more temporary buffs. But there is no "gear fear", you keep all your equipment. And you can run back to your corpse to pick up the other stuff.
Yep, the initial 10% discount will end on Oct. 7th and the roadmap expects one more year of EA with the next bigger update this December. It is certainly not cheap an I would say you get a solid 20-30hours out of it right now...very good hours I would say. But holding on a bit longer and waiting for a more fleshed out endgame loop and the other Islands/Weapons is very reasonable.
Nice! Got this video recommended to me and I think this is a great review, I'll have to check this game out soon. Also, have you ever played Deep Rock Galactic? I feel like based on your opinions shared in this vid, you'd enjoy DRG.
Thanks man! I tried DRG a while ago, but it did not click with me...can´t complain atm though...Satisfactory, Remnant 2, Witchfire...I rarely had so many games at once I really wanted to play. And Stalker 2 is not that far away.
Games look great but I had never played a souls game before so I didn’t wanna be disappointed and seen that this game is short which would suck if I liked it so i got remnant 2 instead and now I can say this game is probably what I should’ve gotten remnants great but this being first person just puts the icing on the cake. I’ll be getting it next week
It is at least 20-30h pure fun atm, and the next big update is scheduled for December. R2 and Witchfire are both really, really great games and having the option to play both is just "chefs kiss".
@@krazykuz13cmc imo deadlink and roboquest are pretty fun for roguelike this looks like an overly pretty one tbh, if it was faster pace I think I’d like it more
I've been hooked on this all weekend, it's a blast to play. Grinding that doesn't feel like grinding, no busywork, inventory management, boring dialog to skip through, just pure adrenaline ffueled gaming.
yeah i hate grinding and this feels like it should fall under grinding but it honestly doesn't since it's more like dark souls where even if you die, theh time you spend improving your skills, both strategy and actual gameplay, is a reward in itself (plus there is a ton to do each run)
It falls in the same category difficulty-wise. I don´t think it is harder, the game flow is certainly different, but overall both games fall somewhat into the same category.
Well, it is different...FPS vs. 3rd person and the art-style is very good and different from R2. But Remnant 2 is one of the best looking Unreal 5 games at the moment and certainly has a higher visual fidelity, superior lighting and better texture quality. But Witchfire does look great and a higher visual fidelity will have diminishing returns at some point.

Looks like a poor man doom dark ages to me but with silly number coming out of the enemies will you kill them i hate that in game so i wont be playing it at least let us the option to turn them of just because its a RPG shooter doesn't mean its has to have numbers its just nonsense pointless bloat that ruins the immersion
You can literally turn everything off in the game options...damage numbers, health bars, Icons, minimap, interaction prompts, spells, ammo count...if you want full immersion you can play without any kind of HUD-elements, Icons and prompts.
@@wholesomegamer OH that's a good thing shame you didn't say that when you was doing your gameplay lol it got my interest now. Well, in terms of how the gunplay and movement feels it is really close to Destiny. If you don´t like that particular FPS-style, then Witchfire will be a hard sell for you. I get that not everyone enjoys the specific FPS-style of Destiny, but a lot of people do and praise it for that. If you prefer a slower, more "weighty" combat, then Remnant 1 + 2 might be for you, even though the are 3rd-person shooter. If you want it more tactical with very short TTK, then the Tarkov SPT mod can give you that.
Destiny might be one of the worst mmo fps to you but one thing u can't deny is gunplay is great in that game its like a faster paced halo or is that bad to you too? While you can say everything bad about destiny gunplay is not one of them. Maybe you've played too much fortnite.
