I totally missed the fact Saito alternated between being fluent and not fluent in English. Things like this is why I love this channel. Can’t wait to see more!
Just started watching Black Mirror out of order and just just finished this episode. Very glad to find your channel especially since you’re starting covering this series.
the whole montage of pictures in the beginning of the episode seemed very dreamlike to me, i thought immediately that this was either a hallucination or (maybe more likely) a staged scene, like hte intro to a video game.
Along with "White Christmas", and "Nosedive": "Playtest" sets the bar early on in the series for me; to the extent that, along w/several other favs from the 1st three seasons, keeps me actively watching the series in hopes for more.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the similarities to "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge". It's a short story from the 1890s with basically, for the time, the same plot.
God, I thought he was sooooo annoying!! The actor overplayed the part and towards the end I just wanted him to stfu! Way too much messing around done by a grown man, I couldn't take it seriously. Not enough mood was set, just watching a really annoying j erk. Shame really
Amazing thoughts and work as always. Whenever I see you do an analysis of an episode or movie I always go to watch it first, sometimes twice before watching your analysis. You should be a detective or something!
Suppose level 1 is the real world. Then, the real Saito looks exactly like the Saito in Cooper's imagination. But when Katie took Cooper in the white room, he hadn't met or seen Saito, had he? Then, how could he know about his aspect? Or am I wrong?
Edit: this is entirely possible. He knows his face, and we can't say that his imagination produced the exact same Saito as in the real world. In the real world, he wears a black polo, whereas in his imagination he wears a white T-shirt.
I wish more people knew this but the ai was the one who called his phone and led to his demise. the ai was his mom in his brain calling right before he woke up
Hopefully by the end of this year 😁 I’ve been working on two HUGE video projects (one on history, the other geography) hence the lack of content in the channel. More Black Mirror analysis videos next year.
As you've said that Cooper only met de game designer in his fantasy, how come that same game designer looks exactly the same in the real world after Cooper had died?
One thing doesn't stick to the theory. Cooper died before the whack a mole game and he imagined everything afterwords.Which means he imagined Saito( being the stereotypical game designer) but he never met him in real life, so at the end when Cooper is dead and Saito walks in to ask Katie about the experience he looks exactly the way Cooper had imagined him. I hope this makes sense and sorry for bothering
Thank you ... I don’t have TikTok but I do have a vlog channel ... just search ‘Simantha.’ I also recently gave birth to my first child so that’s why no videos. I’ll be back once my maternity leave is over - so later in 2021 😁
You’re right. Though this one is quite easy to understand. Mulholland just confuses you straight up , you need to watch it multiple times to fully comprehend it.
I totally didn't know this episode existed. I thought I watched all of that season Edit: Looking at the form and it said "cause of crash- phone interference" and "observation-called mom" I think he died on the plane and he never turned off his phone in the first place. During the turbulence and realizing the possibility of the plane crashing he regrets pushing away his mom and tries to call her so say his peace or his goodbyes. Causing the plane to malfunction totally and crash
i like the way you think but "test duration - 0.04s" does not make sense for a plane crash. it is more likely that him being in the plane turning his phone off serves as a hint or give more awareness on phone interference to the viewers to understand the ending
I don’t know why you should feel so threatened about race playing an element in people’s experiences and outlook in life. It was not a criticism of the protagonist. Race is a part of life and although it may make you uncomfortable to acknowledge that different races and in fact different people from different countries have a different lived experience and approach to the world, it’s a fact.
Oh and the same goes for gender. People don’t choose what they are born into so just highlighting the fact that his race, gender and nationality may have made him more susceptible in this scenario is not an attack on him. It’s silly to pretend everyone is the same - we don’t live in some imagined utopia.
One of the more basic and disliked by gamers episodes from the less complex later series (unattractive lead didn't help). Still, appreciate these and am waiting for your analysis on the more relevant Smithereens. The best one of series five imo.
Didn't really like this one. Lead was annoying af, all that constant silly jabber have way to shouting and more manic shouting....I just wanted to yell stfu! That immuture jabber that flowed constantly failed to set the scene. This could have been an eerie dark episode but the leads incessant childlike talking ........cor I was glad it was over. Still a mind fk but in a bad way

I was hesitant for this one but you really captured this episode well. Someone got a new subscription 🤙🏼
Welcome aboard! 😉

This was the most Complex Inception ever
Also,
When Katie said "would you kindly open the door"
That feels like an Easter egg to Bioshock
No gods or kings, only men 🤙🏼
I jumped off my couch when I heard that for the first time. I was like “don’t trust you bitch” after that lol.
@@A5H_01Haha same. I was like "Oh... No...."
Damn. Your production has gone up to a 10! Keep it up, LCG!

God, I thought he was sooooo annoying!! The actor overplayed the part and towards the end I just wanted him to stfu! Way too much messing around done by a grown man, I couldn't take it seriously. Not enough mood was set, just watching a really annoying j erk. Shame really

This was brilliant! I didn't like this episode when I saw it, But all these little Easter eggs. They did a good job.
I wish more people knew this but the ai was the one who called his phone and led to his demise. the ai was his mom in his brain calling right before he woke up
Favorite episode BY FAR
Trips like this make you question reality.

Hello @LondonCityGirl
I hope you are safe.
I am desperately waiting for your Tenet in delatiled explained video. I hope you already watched it, TIA xx
Having just texted that chick, and with how she texted back immediately, you'd think he'd have muted it at least.
Wouldn't have mattered if he had.
As you've said that Cooper only met de game designer in his fantasy, how come that same game designer looks exactly the same in the real world after Cooper had died?
Copper, saw a picture of him on the magazine at, Sonia's.
@@jamienealscott Those details though. Black Mirror really nails these things.

This actor was so annoying!! Talk about over played, felt half way through "Gees just stfu aahhhhhhh"
Just couldn't resist the white male sjw comment.
Annoying.
