Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world. 10% of the territory is occupied by mountains, 3% by forests.
The rest is steppes (more than 60%), semi-deserts and deserts.
There is no access to the sea or the world's oceans.
But there is more corruption in the country than water in any ocean.
This year, 7 billion tenge were allocated for flood control work.
Nothing has been done. There was a lot of snow and almost the entire republic is now drowning.
Thousands of villages remained under water. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of domestic animals and wild animals died.
For the first four days, people themselves helped each other.
Four days after the disaster began - on March 30 - the president held a meeting and apologized to citizens and promised to punish those responsible.
However, everyone is sure that these are just words and nothing good will happen.
Fortunately, Kazakhs are cheerful people, even at such moments they joke and laugh.
