- In this Project Video, I am making a Leather Stock Shell Sleeve for the stock of a gun in an old west cowboy style.
This style can be set up to hold many different cartridge sizes depending on what it's going on.
We offer a pattern pack with a variety of floral carving patterns for this project that you can purchase in a PRINTED or DIGITAL version. This is a Large Format Print so if you are in the United States we recommend the PRINTED version that we mail out to you.

Thanks!
That’s a great idea! I’ll have to make one
I've made a few stock sleeves, yours better. Thanks for the tips and know how.
Baseball stitch? Thanks for this one!
Beautiful job, Don. Although I'd make the loops taller, at least an inch and a half for 2 3/4" shells....
.45-70 rounds would use the same spacing as .410 shot shells.
Do you do any variants for monty carlo style stocks (raised cheeks)? A lot of O/U and SxS shotguns have them. And hunting rifles
You could probably wet mold them. I require firearm in hand when I make these because stocks can vary slightly. I have done a Monty carlo...yet
What knife is he using at the beginning? Anyone?
Woodsum knives started making them. Not sure when they will have more available
