I cannot believe I was not arrested for stopping on the hard shoulder, numerous times, because I couldn't stop laughing. Once. there was 3 of us in a row, all at the same time laughing uncontrollably. Especially when Terry and deadly lost it. Pure joy.
"Those were the days my friend, we thought they'ed never end." God Bless Sir Terry, thank you for being a constant entertainer in our lives. You will be in our hearts and minds forever. My sincere condolences to your family.
I miss Terry in the mornings, we miss his adult sense of humour and laughing. I try and listen on Sundays but sometimes have to work. Love you always Terr.xx
A true master I will miss him so much -he has been such a large part of my life and is responsible for a lot of my laughter over the years. Rest in peace Sir Terry
I was quite upset on hearing the news of Terry's passing, all the lovely tributes and reminiscences that have poured out over the last few days just seem to accentuate the sense of loss. Listening to these whimsical tales about "poor John" and his wife, however, somehow lift the spirit, the tears of sadness giving way to tears of laughter and the gladness of remembering those mornings we were lucky enough to spend in his company. I'm sure that this is how Terry would want us to remember him.
Hellen Back and all the TOGs, Thank you, thank you for making the CDs available as a download. In the wake of Sir Terry's sad passing, some people tried to cash in (hopefully UNsucessfully) by putting the CDs on an internet auction website for VAST amounts of money, which I suspect would only go into their pockets. With the downloads, the money is going where it should- Children in Need.
These are Fantastic storys every time I hear them I'm in tears when driving on the M25 & i'm not alone i can tell you I have seen others too. Sir Terry & his team are the best.
RIP Sir Terry brought laughter to everyone on wake up to Wogan and blanket blank and on euro viewish but be most remmebered doing children in need year after year you where missed last year be more sadly missed this year you will be sadly missed by all the TOGs and no one did it better then you god bless
I love Janet n John stories, gives you a right good laugh just before going into work in the morning. In fact if I'm in early enough we all listen to it and it gets the office off to a really good start for the day, puts everyone in a really good mood. The stories are even better when you hear Terry and gang begin to lose it when they start to laugh at what's coming. Good old "double entendre" it's what us brits are great at damn political correctness and all it's absurdities!!
terry I loved Janet and John even do i near crashed a few times over the years over Janet and John a class entertainer it JUST shows even at the YOUNG tender age of ohoh you still have it good luck and all the best
Top quality video - good to see what Sir Tel & Boggy are like when they corpse during a J&J story. Love the outfit Boggy - he really is a Fopp and a Dandy. Thanks to Hellenbach (for posting this) and Mick Strurbs for his fantastic & very very funny stories. Steve,a TYG/TOG!!
I bought the first two of the three Janet & John CDs - absolutely fantastic, I nearly wet myself with laughter. Listening to these stories on the radio is what keeps me going on my way to work in the mornings. Well done Mr. Strubs, Terry and John! One thing:- if John Marsh is only interjecting, or heard laughing, as part of the script, why is he dressed in character and not Terry? Just a thought!
I can remember a T.Vshow.on rte when all the regular tv personalites got a day off and varied performers were brought in to entertain them. margie and i plus milo o shea and charlie byrne were part of the gang who had to entertain among others terry wogan, long before he left ireland.and even at this time he was good, very good. regards tony sadar.
His accent is from Limerick, Ireland, isn't it? I'm very interested in British, Irish, & European accents, although I'm Korean who learns American English in school
