- EDIT: After trying it on a few soiled hats it does NOT wash or clean the hat. It is good fpr sterilizing and taking out the wrinkles but will not remove dirt or stains. It will remove sweat stains.
Testing out the INNOPAW automatic cap cleaner
Now, the first cap/hat cleaning and drying machine is on the market -- Multi-functional cap/hat care machine. With automatic 248℉ steam washing and drying, the hats can be flat, clean and fresh.

At $130 it's a tough one for me. I have about 5 different hats that I like to wear for different purposes such as work, gym, outdoor/casual and summertime heat and while they don't get dirty they do get some wrinkles and the plastic mesh material on the back of some of them start to loosen up and crinkle after a few months of wearing them. I tried the plastic washable hat cages and while it removed some stains it didn't undo the wrinkles like this machine does supposedly. If it were less than $100 I could probably justify splurging on it. I've never seen this device before so it probably just came out recently. Thanks for posting a video on it.
When I bought it the price was $119 it went up a few days later. I agree it is pretty price for what it does. I made this video hoping it might save somebody from laying down that kind of money hoping it would clean the hat. It does good for sterilizing and taking out the creases but it does not clean any dirt away. It does remove sweat stains from what I have seen. I think it must be new on the market, I could not find any other information on it on-line. I sell a lot of hats so it will work for me because many of the hats I find are pretty smashed. It is to bad it does not actually wash out the dirt. Thanks for watching.
Ok I just got it honestly I was thinking about returning it but just read what you comment bill and now I'm at 98% of not returning it lol
It’s 179 now, smh fucking inflation🤬
I just heard about this now and was looking for a video your video was ehh because you didn't show enough hat but it did help somewhat I appreciate your time
I am thinking about making a new video to include the suggestions from the comments on this video.
@@BillStonerdid you make a new video ?
I must have the newer version, but it does a pretty good job! I wear hats to work and they get dusty and sweaty. I clean my work hat in this once a week or two weeks and it doesn’t seem do damage them at all. I wish there was and easy way to get the water out after because I assume you don’t wanna reused the dirty water but the instructions are no well written
I see they have a newer version out for $50 more than I paid for mine.
Would've been cooler if you showed us the hat after it was done
The first hat I did is the one sitting next to the machine.
I have a question, you have the machine but I think the washing cycle was deprogrammed, do you know how to reset it?
I'm not sure if it has a reset, the machine does not do a very good job on washing hats it is more of a steam cleaning.
Could've shown close up shots of before and after of that hat after it was done.
Yeah, I don't do a lot of product testing but based on comments I have received I think I may do another video on this product and use the suggestions I have received on this video.
Se puede ajustar a todas las medidas? Tengo solo snap back y 7¼
Debe encajar, donde pones el sombrero tiene un resorte y se desliza juntos.
Hello, can you put some flavoring soap in the machine for a best Result
I would not put any kind of soap in the machine.
Have you descaled the machine yet
Yes I just run a cycle or 2 with white vinegar. I use distilled water in it so I have only had to do it once after a lot of use.
I lost my manual how do you descale again
I have a million hats I think this would be a good to just refresh them to keep them liking nice. Understanding it’s not Made for deep dirty \ extreme spot issues. Thank you 🥂
I think this would work great for that use. I use it to keep mine in shape and to refresh them.
how is it cleaning the sweatband if its pressed up against the solid plastic?
I always do a preclean before putting the hat in the machine. I like to use a stain pre treatment then the steam cleaner
So basically, this is a hat steam ironing machine? Sounds cool but if it were $24.99 I'd consider buying it. Not at that ridiculous price.
I agree, it is not worth the money for what it does. But it does do a good job of steaming them and sanitizing.
Thank for showing us. This confirms the one I bought is going back. It does not give me good results and the manual is of no use at all. for $!30.00 plus for it cost. It should at least have included some good manual. They did not deliver the product as advertised!
It's a shame they do not include a good manual and it does not deliver as advertised!
Can you put starch inside of the steamer to firm up the hat?
I would not do that it will mess up the whole inside. When I use starch, I use the spray kind and put it on after the cleaning cycle and before the drying cycle. I take the hat out, spray it and then put it back in for drying. I also hand wash some hats and put them in the machine to dry them.
Wonder how it does with nicotine stains?
Depending on how bad it is it might come out looking tie dyed.
@@BillStoner oh jeez...the newer Facebook videos on these make it look so good.... but prob too good to be true. They probably blow out bought amazons stock no one wanted and are now asking 40 bucks for it
Im waiting for mine from korea, just wondering is the size can be adjusted?
The dome part is 2 halves that are spring loaded and move together to accommodate different sizes.
Do you think
Adding soap to the reservoir will be harmful
I would not do that, this is a steamer not a washing machine it won't use the detergent. Probably just plug it up.
Can you put soap on it ?
You would not want to put soap in the machine but you could pre wash the hat and then use the machine
Thanks bill so basically it just straightened and drys it huh?
@@johnnyarana1876 yes it doesn't really do much cleaning besides removing sweat stains
Will this machine take a hat that is so flat and wrinkled and bring it back completely stiff like brand new again?
It will make it look a lot better but it may take a little work to get it perfect.
How is with sweat stains?
I have had really good luck with it removing sweat stains as long as they are not greasy or dirty
Hi! Do you have any contacts of manufacturers of this cap cleaning machine, rather then on amazon? I would like to buy this in bulk, but I'm located in Russia.
The only place I was able to find it was on Amazon
@@BillStoner ok, thanks for your reply
THANKS FOR THE CLIP 👌🏻☑️🙌🏻
Your welcome
Hey thanks for the video, I recently got into restoring hats from garage sales and thrifts. I have a question, have you tried a SnapBack style hat for the full 30 min cycle? Did it damage the snaps in any way? Thanks again!
I have used it on a lot of snapback hats with no problem.
@@BillStoner does it adjust to hat different sizes or is it one size fits all?
@@yahinicv there is a little adjustment to it by way of movement from front to back. Kind of spring loaded. Some hats fit on more snug than others but so far all have fit on it.
I was gifted one of these and I'm trying to figure the best way to use it
Would it be better to throw the hat in the washer and then use this bad boy to 'restore' it
That is what I usually do if they are really dirty. I will spot clean them and then wash them and then finish them up in the steamer machine sometimes with a little starch afterwards.
Solo se utiliza agua no se le agrega jabon o suavitel 🤔
Yet to try mine
Does it take the smell out?
It will remove some smells but the machine recycles the water to some extent so if you send a smelly hat through I would suggest changing the water tank before running another hat. I wash dirty hats by hand before running them through the machine.
Awesome video, I just stumbled on the machine on Amazon and was wondering if it would work for me. I wash my caps in the washing machine, but I want something that would reshape them afterwards. Hopefully a question you could answer for me is how big of a cap can you have in the machine. My caps range from 7 5/8 to 8.
You can do all sizes of hats in the machine, it is adjustable.
@@BillStoner Thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it. $130.00 is a small price to pay to keep my 100+ caps looking good!
So actually prevents from being unstraightened right?
Will it remove the wrinkles on very wrinkled fitted hats after you soak in water and clean them?
It should remove any wrinkles from the hat. I have had a few where I had to steam it with a piece of cloth or foam inside to get the desired effect.
@Bill Stoner Are you using something specific to shape the caps? Just got my machine, and I’m trying to learn how to optimize the shaping on my older fitted caps
@@robertcardenas9130 I use a little spray starch on some and have foam crown inserts to help hold the shape.
@@robertcardenas9130 Also I forgot to add sometimes I will use a cloth like a thin washcloth to pad or fill in some areas under the hat.
Awesome! Thanks for the tips. Having a large cap size plus wearing high crown caps, I need to take the extra steps. The machine has definitely surprised me though as far as the cleaning and ease of use. As long as it holds up to my constant usage, I think it was a great purchase.
Just purchased one, am really liking it so far but typically after I do a hat there’s a fair amount of water left pooled on the top surface. Has yours had this issue? Any way to make it so the water doesn’t pool as much?
I haven't noticed an excessive amount of water are you running the drying cycle after steaming the hat? I have water collect on the lid after the steam cycle but that's just the condensation it goes away when I run the drying cycle. I noticed I do get water on the inside if it's not setting level when it runs the steam cycle.
I have also noticed when I overfilled the tank the other day there was a lot of water inside. I forgot I had water in it and tried to fill it twice.
@@BillStoner Interestng, I’ve actually been using less & less water and it’s still been leaving water so idk. It’s not terrible I just have to dry it between each hat
@@xrip394 Are you running the full cycle or just the steam? and are you measuring the water with the cup? It sounds like maybe yours isn't working the same as mine. I haven't heard anyone else having this issue.
@@BillStoner I just run the standard 30 minute cycle. I started off measuring the water but have slowly lowered the amount to try to stop the excess water but so far it hasn’t changed anything. The machine is still doing an excellent job, so I don’t mind it too much.
Would be better to use a brighter light and show the hat
Thank you for the input, I may make another video with the suggestions from the comments on this video.
I’m too cheap maybe if it was cheaper 😂 I’ll stick with my brush and dawn. I have my methods I’ve been using for years. Thanks though at least I know that it’s not for me 👍🏼
Yep I still clean them the old fashion way before I run them through the machine to press them. It don't do much for cleaning and now the price is higher than when I bought mine.
There are some after there done maybe not here
Don't know dude ! Just use a hat buddy an wash an put my hat on my hat fitter to reshape my hat's
I still do some of my hats that way but for regular ones I sell this is much faster.
@@BillStoner ya seen the video an it does look faster even some time when that time comes round to wash my hat's I dread it 😨😨😨😨
No offense taken. Found your vid looking for reviews of this machine before I decide to purchase one
It is great for steaming the has, not so much for cleaning.
A little too steep for me.
And the price went up after I bought mine. Kind of a luxury item.
I'll stick to hand washing
To get them clean hand washing them would do a much better job than this machine.
