Bro at 2:18 you’ve already caught 2, switched poles, came up with a strategy, pull two off the hook, and sent a lure back out again….that’s insane man! You get my subscription!
What really impressed me apart from your skills is you not saying "oh my God" like so many are doing all the time in videos like these. Thanks Brother.
It’s amazing to me to See so many people Think that they are catching post spawn fish. Most of them have eggs. Especially the skinny ones that are all mouth. They have eggs too.
Awesome video. Fishing a tournament on Tenkiller next weekend. Totally different structure, but definitely think the same principles apply. Hope to put this to work!
Always look forward to seeing your videos I always write down a important method to use in my fishing very informative and I bought a couple Max x reels tomorrow first time using them !
Start in a small pocket - such good advice Jonny - so obvious when you think about it. Debating getting the Deep Dive app here in Africa - I’m sure it would still help a lot. Maybe one day you can expand your geographic footprint 👍
Thanks Jonny, great video! Especially enjoyed learning more about the swim jig in grass and muddy water. This sets up just like a local lake and I’ve never dove into using the swim jig. Going to now! Thanks again.
Really great video Jonny. You got the RC style machine gun cast going on. That fishing app looks great. I would upgrade to it but I just can't use my boat anymore. I love watching though.
The Spro little fat John is one of my favorite lures. But I need to get that color next. And a trick I use is after making several cast I switch to my wacky rig and then back to the crankbait especially when I see fish following but not taking the lure.
Cool seeing you fishing closer to shallow areas. Just fished a tournament yesterday and during my practice i found a ton of 16 inch fish that would kill a frog behind the grass. Also found that later in the day bigger bass were crushing a Rattle Trap on the outside deeper edge of the grass. The morning frog bite never happened in the tournament. We caught a bunch of short fish on Zoom trick worms. Put one 3 lb bass in the boat punching mats. Then in the last 15 minutes of the tournament, the rattle trap bite happened. Caught 5 fish in 10 minutes, largest was 4.62 lbs. Lost another that was over 3lbs ( that one would have gotten us a top 5 and some $$
The casting right then switching hands and reeling right would drive me nuts. My son does the same and it makes no sense. I wana be on the handle right when it hits the water so I cast right and reel left, way more efficient. Just my preference.
I just started fishing. I literally know nothing I live out here in Oklahoma City where would be some good starting places for me to get going I just got my lifetime fishing license and a rod and reel so I’m ready to go.
Dirty Jigs California Swimjig will never bend out those hooks again. I horse em on 80lb braid through heavy Lilly Pads and caught an 8lber last year doing that
Hoping to get my boat next week but I just know I’m gonna step on my rods laying like that. Maybe I can make something that protests them a bit from getting stepped on.
i was thinking that lol, he's casting and reeling so fast like he's on a tournament clock hahaha. No offense to him, its just funny. He can't catch his breath
I’m trying a few right now. Haven’t used them enough to have a strong opinion on if they’re worth the extra money. I’ll only switch if I see a major difference.
I run GoPros and DJI Osmos. I have a ton of small batteries and switch them out. I used to connect them to a power bank, but as you mentioned, they would overheat and I would lose footage. It’s kind of a hassle change batteries every hour, but it’s better than missing a key fish catch.
@@FishtheMoment Thanks Johnny! Which gen go pro are you using? I used to have a Hero 4 black that works like a champ. It gave up a few weeks ago and the new Hero 10 is just giving me all kinds of headache.
On september we and a group of friends will be fishing at Lake Hamilton in Arkansas. Any advice in lures, or areas recommended to fish will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I couldn’t really tell where the edge was exactly because the water was dirty. You could see a few tall strands here and there out in front of the more visible bank grass. I just made a guess and casted 5-10ft in front of the visible grass and started hitting grass with my crankbait.
Help me understand. Said you switch to 20# test from 50# test to keep from straightening the hook. Couldn't you just loosen the drag to the 20# setting and get the same effect??
50lb braided line has practically zero stretch due to how it’s constructed. 20lb fluorocarbon has more stretch and will have some give when you set the hook. I always tighten down my drag to the tightest setting when fishing a jig on heavy line to avoid the drag slipping on hooksets. This can cause you to lose fish.
So if you have a reel set up for 20# line and you put 50# line on it the spool is still going to slip at 20# of tension. "50# braid has zero stretch" Fun fact, neither does 40#, 30#, 20#, 10#, etc.
I’m not concerned about the line strength. It’s more about the line diameter and material. My main point in the video is that I changed from Braided Line to Fluorocarbon line for the extra stretch. There are a lot of different ways to set up your gear and I’m not saying my way is the best or only way. It’s just what I do personally and it works for me.
This dude talks a lot but EVERY single word is important and informative. Awesome.

Best what where why and how to find fish I’ve seen in 3 years! Quick, nice and precise. I don’t arched it twice already this morning
This water inflow addition is amazing! The only thing you're missing is water temp, Omnia just added this to their maps and it's great!
My favorite lake in oklahoma, also met you there a few years back. Been following you ever since.
This one is gonna help me on a new lake next week. Thanks Johnny !
Johnny= the most jazzed fisherman in bass land. Fun watching him fish.
excellent information, very informative!!! i feel like a better fisherman already
That was a clinic man well done!!!!
Strong strategy. Need to update app to utilize the inflow points. How do you find the time to fish. Appreciate your wisdom and sharing.

I caught a 5lber on Claremore a couple days ago killing a chatter bait after grass.

What’s the most versatile year round for freshwater would you guys say? Weightless senkos and jigs like a swimming jig?
Awesome vid. What’s the best time of the day for bass? Early morning, afternoon or evening?

Hey Johnny got a camera related question: which cameras are you using? Are you using power bank or battery and do you experience over heat issue?
I run GoPros and DJI Osmos. I have a ton of small batteries and switch them out. I used to connect them to a power bank, but as you mentioned, they would overheat and I would lose footage. It’s kind of a hassle change batteries every hour, but it’s better than missing a key fish catch.

I use Hero 7's. The newer gopros have all given me issues. That's why I'm slowly switching to the DJI Osmos

Are you picking weeds off your lure every other cast?
how can you tell where the edge of the grass is on those flatter banks when not all of it came out of the water?
I couldn’t really tell where the edge was exactly because the water was dirty. You could see a few tall strands here and there out in front of the more visible bank grass. I just made a guess and casted 5-10ft in front of the visible grass and started hitting grass with my crankbait.
