When I saw the thumbnail for this, I genuinely thought it was Ephemeral Rift doing another character.
This comment should be pinned
For real
LOL
SAME!!
Ephemeral Rift a lot older haha
This is funny bc Im subscribed to numberphile already and I used to watch this video specifically when I wanted to sleep
literally same
"damn why is this familiar?"
I must admit I've done this several times as well. Good to know I'm not crazy.
Same
Same here too
Me before this video: math is so hard
Me after the video: math is so hard
😂😂😂😂
Taci 93 😂😂😂
That was what I though before I aprove Diferential Calculos, Integral Caluculos, Vectorial Calculos, Differential Equations, lineal Algebra, numeric analysis, and other pshysics subjects in the university
This guy is spitting straight facts ngl
Fher Gómez damn you're fucking smart huh
Falling asleep in Math class hasent changed, and i love it.
xD
Lol!..that’s a good one!.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Bob Ross of math.
Yes! My gauntlet is almost complete!
Bob math
Haha
@@juliomaldonado2142 yes to your sense of humor!!! Hahah i was going to say something similar

Many of us have been traumatized by math in school and I hope this video doesn't trigger your PTSD... but I feel if I had teachers like this lovely Professor (David Eisenbud), I'd enjoy learning more about math! The older I get, the more I appreciate mathematicians, it seems they're not only highly intelligent, but also often the kind of people (a bit nerdy and quirky) that I like best:)
Actually there is two more really satisfying videos in him - that is he explaining intermediate value theorem and fundamental theorem of algebra. I suggest you make it out part 2 video on it! Here is the link;

Numberphile is a treasure trove for these unintentional type videos, they're definitely what got me searching for asmr at first!
Finally able to comment on a recent upload. Is there anywhere to submit reccomended videos for your channels or get in contact with recommendation links? Great channel by the way and love the content :)
@@nyroysa or just you know
watch the original video
which you have linked right there
@Grant Fox no it's not because it's not his work
Felt like as if he was my grandpa wanting to show me something cool he knows, which he is passionate about. It was really calming and comforting, thanks.
Normal person: does math with a pencil
Person good at math: does math in pen
This freaking guy: screw it ima use a sharpie
wait, people don’t use pen for everything that is connected to writing?
You’re actually never supposed to do math in pen.
@@michaelterrell5061 it’s not like half of the world does that
@@nekopushyo Well if they do they aren’t supposed to.
@@michaelterrell5061 pencils have only one good side anyway, you can erase them. But so can some other pens
The only time I’ve found anything Math class related enjoyable
Numberphile is amazing
Watch Numberphile (where this video is from), it will change your mind
Great Big Story did a video on mathematicians hoarding a specific brand of chalk that is popular among their community, this guy was one of them.
haaahahaha ya i saw both videos before here
@@skydragon3857 same
@@alexthekobster3085 you have good taste then hahaha
I just realized that
Before I knew what ASMR was (probably 2005ish) I would turn on local access tv before bed because they always had a math program on where a lady did math just like this every night and it was help me go to sleep.
The fact that is unintentional makes better. (The intentional ASMR is creepy for me).
I bet you are a math expert now
What a small world I used to do the same thing, but they had this man showing how to crochet and him explaining the methods was so relaxing
When I start watching for the first time Bob Ross, around 1995, I didn't trigger my ASMR, so I didn't knew by that time what ASMR is and how make you feel
There is listening or watching stuff to help you relax and or fall asleep and then there’s asmr, where you actually have a physical response.
This guy sounds like a happy Mr. Crocker
......
I was thinking the same thing haha
Literally coming to the comments to say that
Oh, man. Thanks a lot. 🙄 Now I can't unhear.
exactly what i think
I love this so much, you can tell he loves maths and what he's doing. It feels like he's really enjoying telling you everything. I also liked how he showed how he got it wrong. Even though I'll probably forget this, it was fun/interesting to try and wrap my head around it whilst still feeling very relaxed.
I'm going to sleep as average Joe and wake up a genius

Who is Joe
@@ZayxSt anyone

I understand maths enough for this to keep my brain active but not enough to understand it fully so this just frustrated me. Still a good video
Yeah right there with you. Going to try to code a project that shows how to the 17-gon. It usually helps build the understanding if I'm actually capable.
I couldnt find the words to say it, buts thats just how i feel
Im still shitting myself over maths
Watch the original then.
Man I feel you! Today was a really hard day for me with my programming because I couldn't solve simple things and they took me hours, I got so annoyed. And now I look at this video and professor is really good, but I'm so stupid and the fact that I don't know these things completely wasted me.
"I really love the precise construction" ~uses a 1/4" sharpie and compass dipped in ink~
Ancients: construct massive, literal wonders of the architectural world, using three, four, five sides
Also ancients: "You think we can add another side?" *Error 404 not found*
Very good explanation, step by step instructions etc. The only question I'm left with after watching this is "WHAT???"

“He didn’t write down his proof. That was left as an exercise for the reader.”
Thank you Leonard Euler and Friedrich Gauss...for bringing MANY contributions to mathematics...and for this fine piece of ASMR, haha.
Arithmetic Sharpie Marker Response
I love people like him, who have a genuine love for what they do.
I relaxed, but ended up staying awake intently listening. I was never too fond of algebra 2 in high-school, but I did love geometry. I still find geometry fascinating.
I used to have a lot of ASMR sessions every day back in the school days lol
I love random stuff like this 😆
This is fascinating!! What a wonderful way to illustrate complex topics. Love that professor and his calm and cool voice
Watching this without the stress of having to do it is pure bliss
Idk why I love hearing teachers talk so much lol, I find it very cute how they get excited when they’re explaining something from their subject
Good to know I'm not the only one who loves drawing this sort of stuff. To me it's like meditating, the only thing that will quiet my mind.
He is a professor at UC Berkeley
Bengla bolte hobe
I've never been so relaxed and stressed at the same time
I already watched this video before, but its always nice to rewatch some of my favorite numberphile videos
This reminds me of my sophomore year of maths. I was so excited to go to class everyday because he had the most relaxing voice in the world.
You really -are- the best unintentional ASMR. Cheers my friend, for more fantastically surprising content.
This is the wholesome lecturer you could listen to for hours, I have one in my university he's just so fascinating ❤️
wholesome teachers and professors are so awesome dude
this is so precious
he is so wholesome 🥺
This is the only time I have not gotten anxiety from math
I was wondering when Prof Eisenbud would appear on here. Love his videos
for the interesting maths but also for the unexpected ASMR.
The only thing I learned is that there's red sharpies.
Duh...
No test or worksheet due over this so I'm relaxed 😴
I've never been so stressed and so relaxed...
the best combination to fall asleep. asmr and math
As someone that's been in the construction field his eyeball skills make me happy
any math video is automatic asmr for me, i fall asleep every time
I love numberphile
Man this makes me miss geometry class. My absolute favorite math I took in high school.
Couldn’t have this dude as my teacher, because during his lectures I would get relaxed and fall asleep
Asmr can feel so freaking random. That’s exactly why I find it fascinating. Someone is totally vibing out to this.
Great vid! If only all math lectures in college were like this 😭.
I wish this guy was my maths teacher back in college. Then again I was already good at falling asleep during class. :P
Great video to fall asleep to. Asmr and learning.
I applaud anyone who can understand or perform this.
He draws this, not by visual memory, but by thorough understanding of the mathematical formula that the process represents.
Thats incredible.
This makes me feel obsessed with Math! ♥️
Me : *doesn’t understand simple high school math classes*
Me watching this video : *“ah yes of course, simple really”*
Math and ASMR are the keys to the universe.
This video combinates the two things that make me sleep, maths and ASMR
Finally,a math class I’m allowed to fall asleep in!
I'm very sleepy right now. Best asmr
Absolutely mind-boggling.
If this guy was my geometry teacher I'd have actually had a good excuse for falling asleep in class.
i have no idea wat this guys talking about but i love it
And I spent all of 8th grade learning what he teaches in 25 minutes
Great find
Im not a Math buff, but I really like these videos. The history of math and a lot of the principles behind it are quite fascinating, and even though half the time I don't understand what's going on, its still fun to watch.
Woooooooooooooooooooooooow
This is absolutely amazing .
Nice! Didn't know Ephimeral Rift taught math!!
Aww man I love this guy!
Definitely my brain wasn't built to understand this, but really enjoying the relaxing aspect.
Yes. Please. This is infinity better than the mumbo jumbo angelic interdimensional video. I prefer listening to stuff that are interesting or practical. :3
Was falling asleep to this a hole week.
Now im in Oxford.
My geometry teacher told me that I was never good at math. He was right but it still hurt. This guy taught me more then I ever learned in 2 years of geometry.
Very interesting video. Thanks.
Thank you for the Asmr commercial.
Just like when i use to fall asleep in geometry in 10th grade lol
I love the fact that Professor David had his name dynoed onto his ruler!
I love this guy
I wish my high school Geometry teacher were this cool.
I hope this guy is happily playing with compasses all day
I highly recommend anyone and everyone to subscribe to Numberphile.
Fantastic channel, great little tidbits of the world of mathematics explained by professionals, awesome host and very clever editing and graphics to accompany the video. It really is superb!
I agree!
I'm trying to understand but for some reason I keep getting asmr tingles🙇😃
Never been this invested in a math class before.
Yup. Math can still make me fall asleep.
i wish i had gotten this in school, it was always 'memorize this!' and we never got the why or the how.
In the first ten sec i thought that paper and style reminds me of numberphile so when the preview ended i was happy
This man’s a genius. Now my head hurts 😉
It’s so relaxing watching this after finishing GCSE’s
Tyger Hil best of luck on your results :)
I didnt understand a single word this man just said but it helped me sleep.
You my man, are an artist
Now I know why I was bad at Mathematics! I was too busy falling asleep because of the ASMR... 😂
I like how he just casually segways geometry into real analysis.
His voice reminds me a lot of a professor I had in last year in school. If I didn't get a good enough amount of sleep the night prior then the chances were decent I wasn't making it through the period
Why I found this so entertaining?
No wonder why this is sleep inducing
Having this man as a teacher when you had a party the previous night should be hard
I already fall asleep when I just see the thumbnail.
I couldnt sleep so im listening to this..good night.
i listened to this before i sleep and when i wake up, i could now calculate and dethrone my professor.
Weird, i found numberphile today and saw this video about 20 mins before seeing your upload. When i was watching it originally i thought it was perfect asmr.
