Quote of the year goes to you. " I can smell beer and normally thats a good thing, but not in this case" I absolutely love and appreciate your channel man. Thank you.
Great stuff Cam, keep it up mate. All your content is a winner and its good how comfortable you are getting in front of the camera. Love seeing average folks with honest thoughts and opinions. Cheers mate.
Mad video, Well Done! It is always fantastic to see new people having a crack and making content. This trip looks fantastic and I am rusted on to see how it all goes. Happy Trails.
Thanks mate! Its an amazing country, get over and check it out if you ever get the chance. Which part of the US are you in? Ive just started an instagram account, but I'm still figuring it out! @wildtouring
Wild Touring, we’re in Portland, Oregon. Some of the best beers on the planet! I love the desert though, so I love to go out to the SE part of the state. Amazing volcanic landforms and big salt pans.
The Googs and the Finke River 4x4 track would be the two more difficult tracks towing. With a smaller/lighter trailer like the Drifta Dot, I think you would be fine. As long as your vehicle has the power to pull it through the soft stuff and you get the tyre pressures right. If youre going to be in a convoy with other vehicles then I wouldn't even think twice about it, would be easily done.
@@WildTouring jeleous people mate is why u got the thumbs down. Can't handle seeing someone living the dream. Great work, new sub here from Ballina NSW. Cheers.
Mate what a video! I had been hanging for days to get to watch this and now I can't wait to get into the second part! Keep up the wicked stuff dude looked bloody awesome
GREAT Video Cam, loved every minute of it, can't wait for the next instalment :) I bought an Ozpig thinking I'd use it for Home AND Camping, but now I'm thinking I might need a Firepit like your's for Camping and leave the Ozpig at home!!! Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)
Cheers Don. Glad you enjoyed mate! Ozpigs are bloody awesome too, and I think some areas at certain times will only allow enclosed fires, so would really come into its own there!
I have done a lot of those places and I enjoyed my trip so I will taga along with this one and see what you get up to.. Taking notes, like your setup.. Apreciate your respect for nature and to preserve the bush as it is.. I subscribed and rang that bell.. well done..
Mate just found you...don't know how!🤣 Just wanted to say your videos are A GRADE! I've only watched 2 , the chainsaw one and this one. I'll be watching the rest for sure! Great Work Bud!👍👌🍻
Well done bud, great video, all round, Lithium will provide constant voltage till the end, and 35- 45 % more usable power over time AGM will drop voltage as is being used, yes your set up is gold class, I'm running 2 AGM 195 amp hour , giving me a total of 195 amp hr usage, still not as good as yours, just can't afford it,
Thanks George. Unfortunately not this time. With the flooding of lake Eyre, the birdsville track and my planned route across the Simpson was closed. This was a last minute 'plan b' trip. I spent a little more time 4x4ing and exploring in the NT instead. Still managed to do roughly 2500kms of dirt!
Don't worry mate, i used to do it with the work van tailgate door :( How good is the LiFePO4 hey, that is awesome Re: Fuel Usage, i use Fuelio App, add receipt after every fill up It is really handy for keeping an eye on usage and any weird changes that might point to a vehicle issue of dirty fuel issue I find it extremely helpful for engine health
The lithium is amazing, its really surpassed my expectations. Thanks for the suggestion, ill have a look at that app tonight! I do need something like that. And youre bang on, would be a great way of picking up fuel quality issues.
The Fuel Apps are good mate, they can provide a lot of information in a simple form, especially after a few months of using them. You can even set Service Intervals in them so you get a reminder on your phone and also track service costs as well as fuel costs. Because fuel prices vary so much when travelling, i found it good to see my economy stayed fairly steady, even if the price of fuel didn't. Multiple vehicles can be set up too
Great series. Sorry, may have already been asked but what time of year did you travel and what is the best time to do the Holland Track to avoid the mud? Thanks in advance..
Awesome video, looking forward to the rest! Defo subbed. What lithium battery brand/model are you using? Planing a new build for my triton and finally wanna install a dual battery system
Cheers for the sub mate, glad you enjoyed! Next part will be up this Sat morning. I'm running 2x ALLSPARK 100ah LiFePO4's. They are amazing! If you have a look through my videos you'll see I did a vid on my setup in the canopy (and same setup I put in my father in laws canopy). Definitely recomend going lithium if you're building a new system, they work out similar pricing to lead acid (AGM) when you consider the service life of them, with the added bonus of a deeper discharge, lighter, more stable voltage, crazy fast charge rate, higher max discharge current and internal protection from over charge/discharge or short circuit.
But I don't want to wait until next Saturday for the next one. Why do we have to wait til next Saturday? It's not fair making us wait til next Saturday!! Can't you like, take a day off and do some editing? Seriously though, love yer work. Really good stuff. Thanks.
Ahhh Bro, I only came across your channel yesterday, fantastic. Another fellow Ginger Ninja. You have a Patreon? I live in Perth. Been to Ceduna, beautiful.
Awesome video, brought back memories when we crossed the Nulabor many years ago. Now off to watch part 2 😬👍👍. And as for the person that gave this a thumbs down 🖕
Hi mate, new subscriber here, enjoying your vids, they are getting better and better. Keen to know your thoughts on the ryobi 12v chainsaw. Also mate, what camera gear and mic do you use? Keep it up. Dan
Cheers for the sub Dan. I'll do a proper review/comparison between the ryobi Elec and stihl 2stroke soon. But in a nutshell - i think it's good for collecting wood quickly and quietly for a smaller fire for one night. Very little maintenance, small and light.
Thanks mate! It's a copy of the snowpeak portable fire pit. I bought it off eBay, they called it 'camping moon portable fire pit'. Red roads also sell an identical one .
Cheers mate. This trip was a GoPro 6 with rode external mic, gopro 4 and dji mavic air drone. Some of my other videos also include footage from a Nikon DSLR with rode mic.
Thanks mate! The follow me/active tracking on the mavic air is rubbish unfortunately. So getting drone footage while driving is a bit difficult solo haha.
Great show so far...
