I feel like every since Miriam and Leonardo's been the choreographers for the show, the tango here is just much more authentic and beautiful!!! not the acrobatic anymore ;) nice job:)

Beautiful dance!!! Not exactly "Argentine" Tango. It's a little bit difrent from what we dance here in Argentina, this is more "Tango Show", for performances, but really beautiful!!!! I love Pasha since the first time I saw him dance! Best dance partner ever!!!
@dcgsmix Yes, Lauren danced 5 pieces on finals night and 2 on finale, plus the rehearsals as you point out. Remember how tired she was after her finals nite solo and Cat mentioned "you're knockered". All 3 kids worked really hard but Lauren's amazing energy source served her so that she was able to perform with the best energy to the end. I am not arguing with anyone really, just trying to clarify specifices and keep all of us on the same page. Sorry if I came across as argumentative.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like stage tango. I guess that would make sense considering this is TV and the contestants are counting on viewers' votes. For the normal viewer all the lifts and tricks are what's 'exciting' I mean you can hear the crowd respond more when Pasha lifts Lauren.
I know that this is 2016, but I'm really tired of comments, "This is not Argentine Tango" whenever it's danced on SYTYCD. It IS Argentine Tango. I've been very fortunate in that I was able to see "Tango Tango" live on stage and this is a really great routine. And please spare me the tripe that it's "too sexy". Bull crap. The Argentine Tango that I saw on stage was so bloody hot, it peeled the paint right off the walls. Again.....spare me.

I adore Lauren and think she's overall the best winner ever on SYTYCD vav solid in all forms BUT this tango from Janette (salsa dancer) and Brandon (contemp) is simply perfect. And again the music is authentic Arg Tango music. I don't think L&M will dance or choreograph to anything less. :) Tremendous integrity vav their art form.
First non native woman I see dancing Tango SO good. Even though the coreography is not quite Argentine ( too much spinning & flying ) She got it.. her legs are constantly searching & evading, entangling her partner, and her upper body just charms him, makes him want to beg.. "here is my breast, but what you want ain't here but a bit lower". That's Tango. The courtship before making love, the woman saying no until she finally says yes. Greetings from Argentina!!

Check out M&L's SuperStars of Dance 2009 items and actually any other bits too. No wonder Lauren was so inspired and captured the soul of tango here. L'Fro blessed to work with Pasha and M&L and I bet she knows. Main flaw w/ Lauren's Tango: too brief; wanted it to last much longer.

They've been choreographing for SYTYCD for several seasons.
After watching several videos of her dancing with a partner I have come to the conclusion that gravity does not affect Lauren Froderman the way it affects the rest of us.

@dcgsmix Yes! I agree completely, with both of you actually but mostly I think your answer was exactly correct about the basis of the show. Technic is important but the judges value performance factors most because those are the factors most of the audience can see/appreciate. If dancers "get" into the character of the dance, judges will forgive tech errors unless glaringly wrong, outof sync, missed steps.The lift error was disguised from untrained eyes... judges know that.. It's all good!
@Phoenix554819 NO actually this missed lift and the near slip when her leg was wrapped around his butt, is the performance event not the encore. I have double checked both vid's and I am certain about this. At finale encore, both these elements were done correctly though the body tensions and control factor throughout were less intense and P missed waist high lift (I think P& L were simply exhausted for all her encores). Trust me on this or go run both evenings on Foxdotcom Best wishes :)
What is creepy about it? I think it's a beautiful & accurate description of Argentine Tango from someone obviously educated about & appreciative of the dance. Argentine tango is very different from the classic tango most people have been exposed to. Yes, it is extremely sensual & seductive, but also very disciplined. Check out some real Argentine tango videos~if you learn about the dance, you may change your mind about that comment

I hope you guys realise that this was choreographed by two world-famous Argentine Tango dancers. Maybe they changed it for the stage and the dancers but this is Argentine Tango, by Leonardo Barrionuevo and Miriam Larici, two phenomenal dancers. Although I didn't particularly like it mainly because it wasn't as fluid as I would like, I blame the dancers and not the choreography.
