ayyyyy oh my god. so most of yall know i had a seizure last month and then the anti seizure medication they put me on fried my brain. ive been totally useless, but i couldnt miss this!!!! just barely made it in time, phew!
This video... is a little more abstract than some of my others! But the story I wanted to tell here, the theme I wanted to convey is... this almost adversarial dynamic between the memory of my younger self and my current self, if that makes any sense. Both in that, my self-destructive nature as a teenager threatened my old self, but my own current self's resentment of how i FELT at that time sometimes manifests as a resentment for myself during that time... Teenage me looks in the mirror and sees blood that isnt there, while in the future i look back impassively, so desensitized to my own misery i dont always even feel pity anymore. i remember, as a teenager, sometimes thinking about who i might be in the future and being angry and not even knowing why. But I was having a very difficult time. So this concept is... a little difficult to explain, but I hope I can convey the FEELINGS, at least.
Also, yes, I did the audio edit for this and yes you can use it! I really wanted to use my favourite parts of the song, so I layered the choruses together, cut in the end and intro bits and I actually recorded and added one extra little giggle in there for some oomph lol.
