  • In this video i'm showing you the easiest way to tie two kinds of Griffiths Gnat, classic one and CDC one. I use very simple technique to reinforce both of them but also i speed up tying of this fly. So its a one stone two birds deal here.
    Enjoy the video

The first one I tied using this method looked better than the dozen I tied before it using the traditional method. Excellent!

Glad it works well for you. Its super simple technique. Now you can apply it to other materials too...

I was present at the setting of the Guiness world record in tying flies 2017 - fly tyer from Norway Jon Strand has been tying Griffiths gnats 24 hours in a row, during Nordic Fly Fair event. He did manage to tie 1036 flies all together. Was quite an interesting experience. By the way, he was also spinning the herl and the hackle together. Actually, I’ve forgotten about this but it came across my mind when watching your video Vladimir, it’s a really good idea which I’m gonna use from now on

I heard about it from a friend who knows him. I wouldn't try doing it. Hats down to him. Its quite an achievement. Do you remember did he prep all materials prior to tying? I guess for sure.. It would make huge difference...
Regarding twisting all.... It makes sense once you see it.
I will probably redo this fly to point out some tips.

GN is my third go to dry after Klinkhamer and Parachute Adams. Never tried the CDC but you can be sure I will. Thanks for the idea.

Good fly choice 😀😀😀 try it, especially on picky fish... Try to use as little cdc as possible. But fly has to float. Also works as a wet fly

Nice one Vladimir! Gnats are great producers, I just have trouble seeing them on the water so I use them on a dropper behind a more visible fly. Like the way you tie them! Cheers and stay safe!

Thanks Hank....prior to winding all materials to the eye... U can add something like an indicator... Like u would add parachute post.... On the top of the hook shank... And then just wrap the fly as you would do anyway.... 😉 So u make yourself hi viz gnat 😀😀
