#Wiggly Wigglers
I just bought this composter, I have set it up watching your video as a guide. I look forward to see how it goes! I live in a flat and found it very convenient
You got one too. It will interesting to see how you get on with this. Great to see you at Malvern Nic. Take care Dan
Hi Dan, good to see you too at Malvern. I need to thank the g/f for her marketing patter with Heather for getting one for me and Nigel. I'll send her round to get me one of these posh green houses, lol. All the best Nic
They are magic! The worm casts/compost is so rich in beneficial enzymes.... 35yrs ago I started a worm bin, but over the years I realised they are very happy in a plastic bog standard compost bin. I am very impressed by your swanky wormery though, get you! 😁 😇
It was a lovely gesture to be given it review. So far so good. Whatever works well for the garden is even better the simpler it is too. All the best Nic
Nic's Allotment your new bin looks really neat... I hope the worms are happy. You will be thrilled with the results Nic. All the very best to you. X
Nice to see the worm activity and I harvested some of my castings today for the Chilli's. Thankyou Nic.
🌱Happy Composting my friend, Terry.
I hope they do the chillies a load of good Terry. Can't wait to get the first casting and liquid fee to use. All the best Nic
Hi Nick, I have been using a home made worm composter for a year now and it's the best thing that I ever done for my garden.
So glad to hear that Rosly, So far the worms are doing a grand job. All the best Nic
Thanks Nic! Very helpful!
Glad you found it of interest Bernardo. , I like to show how things can be done for those that struggle or just don't have a clue. All the best Nic
Hi Nick, what kind of worms did you use, they didn't look like Red Wigglers?
Hi Michael
The worms were sent with the kit from Wiggly Wigglers, but I don't remember if they were the red wigglers or not.
Thanks for watching.
All the best, Nic
Interesting product Nic, great overview and set up. Interesting to see all the activity. All the best, Hugh
Hi Hugh, it was surprising how quickly the worms worked. It's a good back garden project. All the best Nic
brilliant product review Nic of the Wiggly Wigglers Urbalive Worm Composters !! i think muddybootz is doing the same review as well........lol
Yeah, we both got one to trial. So far it's so good with the wormery. All the best Nic
Thanks for sharing
And thanks for watching AJ!!! All the best Nic
Put a cover over mine to stop them getting flooded........we are having thunder, lightening and hail all in one go 😱. Nice one mate 👍
Hope you survived the deluge and that the worms weren't too disturbed by the storm Nigel. Best to keep them safe. All the best Nic
Its a nice looking system. Lots of worms. I have a bin I made about 5 years ago in the cellar runs all year no smell. But not very easy to harvest as its one bin.
Well done on your home made one. You'll have to try and see if you can adapt it for a second tier. You must be impressed with it if you've been using it for 5 years. I'm really enjoying mine so far. All the best Nic
It is design for a family of how many person? Thank you!
Hi Nic,good update love to hear all the birds twittering away what a wonderful sound, nice shot of the baby birds too,luv the wild life.l often dig the odd worm or two for the robins/black bird etc Thankyou for sharing have fun with your wiggley worms,Was that you back garden you were filming in that looks lovely to.All the very best Joyce 🌞🌻🌱😊
I like to see the wildlife in the garden and allotment too Joyce. The blackbirds and robins follow me around the plot waiting to see what I dig up. The wormery is in the back garden so that I can keep an eye on it. All the best Nic
Hi mate, nice to see how you set up the wormery. Are you an Nigel going to have a competition to see how much worm compost you can make in a season? Take care. Nick
Good idea Nick, I'll run it past him! All the best Nic
Looks a good product but just too expensive for me at the moment thanks for update cheers 🍻
Hi Jacko, I can appreciate that but it appears quite a few people can make some form of wormery, but don't benefit from the different tiers. It's proving to be a really good product so far so perhaps you could ask Father Christmas for one, lol. All the best Nic
Hello nick, Looks like a good product. Will it be a race now between you & Nigel as to who gets the 1st liquid feed? Nice tutorial mate. Thanks for sharing.
It's going well Rod. No sign of the liquid feed yet though. Will have to be patient. All the best Nic
How long does it take for one tray compost to be ready for use?
Cool. Like I mentioned on Nigel's review - I have one that is very similar. Wouldn't be without it!
Steve
Good to hear your rate yours so well. This is going great guns at the moment but having to be patient for the liquid feed to see how good that is. All the best Nic
Not too keen on the liquid feed, Nic. But I do use it very very diluted. Compost great though!
Steve
Does this attract flies in the summer? As i have seen a couple of reviews that it does... Thanks
Hiya Sophie. I've had no problem with flies around the wormery at all. It's a self contained unit and has been great in the really hot summer we've just had. It's a really good option for home composting kitchen waste. Let me know if you need any further info on it. All the best Nic
Sorry I missed you at the show.
Sorry too Ken. Were you there with Carol? Hope you had a good show and found plenty of interest - or perhaps not too much as that can be expensive., lol. All the best Nic
Hey there. Thanks for uploading the video. I have a question. Did your worms never escaped from the urbalive wurmbox? I am trying this box now for the last weeks and I have the problem every night. Even with a LED-light over it. To find every morning at least five worms on the floor is really pain in the neck. Maybe you have some tips…
It might be oxygen problem. Reducing food and uncovering lid will help.
I just read somewhere that if it's too wet than the worms will try to escape.
Awesome update Nic
Thanks Penny. All the best Nic
Nice to see great progress. But when I think about my own garden I can't initially see the advantage over Mick Poultney's compost bins. But perhaps someone can explain why these bins are an advantage over a decent compost heap.
Hi Gordon, you can't beat a decent compost heap, but I have found the wormery really useful for home composting from the kitchen. It's just very convenient and clean for the home environment or for those that don't have a lot of veggie waste - at least they can recycle something. All the best Nic
@@NicsAllotment Ahh I hadn't thought of it like that. That makes total sense.
Check out the Living Composter, super cute, doubles as a stool and comes in four delightful colours. Made in Canada. (extra trays available) www.cathyscomposters.com/products.htm#bins
