This is a great video as usual, and I'm (I' say) a veteran PES player. However, let me make a suggestion that I think in most or all of your videos. The part where you explain, and arrows, and all, is necessary and good. But I really miss a replay of each particular play to get a sense or the whole thing with its real pace. I think after getting a good understanding first, being able to watch it again as it happened would complete the understanding and be a big help. That could also be before the explanation, but I feel at the end would work better. Hope you think about it. I know maybe you're worried about the length of the video or whatever, but for let's say 5 clips, 5 seconds each... not that much more if you ask me.
I love this game so much, it's so technical, especially when you play online with decent players. You have to keep an eye on what your opponent is doing tactically. Unlike some other game where you just blast your way through defenders like Lukaku and shoot to score from 2000 yards out *cough* FIFA.
Pes dribbling feels so wrong coming from Fifa. I'm trying to get my head around it. It's like you have to do less with the controller to get more out of it.
Hi dude, it takes a bit of practice. If you prefer to do more...turn off auto feint. However, if you want a more responsive way of playing ..auto feint is the way to go. It takes practice but once mastered is a fun part of the game and unlike FIFA...sometimes skills work, sometimes they don't. I find in FIFA, certain skills are so OP
Been waiting for this one Mr Spoony! I am terrible at dribbling and my players always seem to turn around sooooo slowly when I try and change directions or cut behind. Must be an angle thing. Thanks for the video!

Thanks dude, just keep practicing dude. I'd say choose one thing, repeat it over and over until it's second nature. Then move to the next. That's what I find works for me when following other peoples tutorials.
Beautiful vid Spoony. Told I'd be back. Only managed 4-5 games so far since my purchase of PES19. I was worried from the demo that it would be to easy. But I'm on Top Player and I feel the gameplay is more fluid and better than PES18(And I loved PES18 -Despite Legend difficulty being to hard) Well surprised and happy. But I'm struggling to score. Have had 3 nil nils in a row, then I scored a brace in the next game. Your dribbling vid is really gonna help as none of my tricks of the trade from PES18 are working. Hey dude, so many people say I have the best colour/graphics settings even compared to likes of other UA-camrs. The key is... you know that graphical setting at the start of the game? Leave that at 50/50. I tried doing what everyone else does, about looking for the shades etc... but just leave it at 50/50. Works a treat!
I actually dont like the dribbling after the patch. Loved it pre patch. Before i could control the pacing, combining direction and sprint. Now momentum kicks in, hitting the sprint button resulting in a longer time to change direction and longer sprint. My dribbling feels less snappy. Dont like the off balance when in contact with the opponent. Also shielding is much harder to do. I primarily play online
Good tips in general, but the first tip is a little outdated for this year's game. Martial and Pogba could perform the neat drag across because they have the "step on skill control" player skill. That's new this year. Those without it initiate a much clumsier lateral movement which is extremely easy to intercept by a pressuring defender. Talisca in your video is able to pull off the dummy while doing the animation, but most players are really bad at it. It's a lengthy animation which you can't cancel once you've initiated. Caught me out a lot when the game was first released. I don't recommend being in the habit of using the R2 sidestep unless you know your player has the special skill, or you expect your opponent to be defending very passively in one-on-one situations.
Hey dude, none of these players have Step on Skill. They have high ball control stats 85+ certainly helps when performing this move. Step on skill is best if you want to hold R2 down and drag the ball left right backwards etc for a series of steps but this quick shift doesn't require that, just needs high ball control stats. Spoony Pizzas Oh interesting. I think it's the case that Step On Skill automatically gives the player the ability to do the drag across, reliably. Whenever I've tried it with players who don't have it, they can only pull it off like once or twice in every ten attempts. But I'll check out the effect of this 85+ ball control stat. Even so, I think that bears emphasising, because most players in the game don't have that stat. So it's only going to work smoothly if you're playing with top teams.
@@janguvpes7518 In the demo I think it had a far greater effect but in the full game I barely even train Step on Skill as I can find any player with decent agility or ball control stats are fine at moving the ball with the step on skill. Spoony have you made a video on how to keep the ball when a defender is pressuring you from behind? When I play the ball into one of my forwards with his back towards my opponent, my opponents defenders just seem to be able to run through me to get the ball. It seems to be happening more to me in this pes that previous ones, I used to be able to hold the right trigger and dummy it past my opponents a lot, but they've really nerfed that skill in this pes. Also when you were downloading the kits from pes universe did you download the 1024 or 2048 options, I just own a normal ps4 not a ps4 pro? Does it even matter, do you own a normal ps4 or a ps4 pro?
I'll make a video on being pressured from behind. I usually use the drag back control to create space. I use PS4 Pro but to be honest the high Def kits don't matter when playing, only during replays but it's so minor.... I'd just apply them to your favourite league.
You can only apply a few 2048 kits as they take up more slots. So as I said, apply to only one league. It's a trade off, less high def kits or more low Def kits.
Wow, VERY EFFECTIVE! Although I want to add a smart thing, don't get overconfident and use R2 + R1 with the central defender in front of your own box...LOL
Too true mate. FIFA 19 was awful! Wasn't too bad before patch on slow speed but the new patch just made everything faster and online is unplayable. It's like a game of basketball.

Hey dude, how can you use a D-pad? My D-Pad is used to select tactics etc - however, to answer your question, it will be a LOT harder as you can only move in 8 directions, where as analogue can move 360 degrees. Cheers bro (example:- Smalling doing a 160 degree turn)

Hey dude, use this tutorial as it's the best way of protecting the ball, look how Smalling shielded the ball through movement after being pressed - being pressed is much easier to roll your opponents and get inbetween the lines. I will cover shielding the ball though.

hey there, Thanks for your great videos I just have a question, i see my friend using a skill where he is on full sprint and suddenly changes directions diagonally so fast and still keeps the ball close while keeping his momentum. It is absurdly overpowered and i dont know how he does it Any idea ?
Dribbling against the ai is not right imo because for the most part you have to just run around like stupid. The ai is always chasing me down from behind while the defenders in front of me don't approach me at all no matter how close I get to them. And that's not logical. Sometimes one single step would be enough but they don't take it
I agree, it's a BIG problem for me in football games. They need to make the slide tackle actually worth while, make it more effective, accurate and reduce the effectiveness of standing tackles. I watch a Premier League game and watch FIFA or PES and it's just not the same.
I don't like dribbling against the AI and prefer passing around them, it feels more satisfying every time you manage to pull off a tiki-taka combo to release a player through on goal.
Everyone has their own enjoyment of the game that's why there is the debate about Messi and Ronaldo. People love Ronaldo because he scores a lot and has the ability to score with his head and from long range... whereas others prefer Messi because of his dribble skills and vision.
I'll cover this off in a video - but basically - go into Negations - My Team - Select player - Renew contract - I'd recommend bolstering Win bonuses/clean sheets/goals/games played and try and lower the annual wage as this comes from your salary budget which usually takes a HIT. Cheers bud
I'm a novice but when I try the first ball roll my player doesn't do the animation I'm using pogba and I tried rashFord. It's getting frustrating as I've tried it about 40 times. I've tried different timing but they don't do it.

Correct me if I am wrong but after my first steps to my club mode I notice when my opponent performs skills moves my players act like e piece of woods! This is how Konami design the game to give the opportunity to the players make the skill moves?

Thanks dude, it will take time but once you discover the all the little touches, technique from players, player ID and also advanced controls such as super cancel - check out that video btw - you'll realise how good PES is and after mastering super cancel (will take a year or two) there will be no going back to FIFA which is on rails.
Reason being: If you're competing on Legend level, you don't need this tutorial. Aspects of this still work on Legend level. Just don't expect Pogba to hold off David Silva due to stat boosts (David Silva - 99 physical strength)
Great Tutorial. However, talk about "agile" I'm glad I'm not wasting anymore time this year on PES or FIFA as my Horse on RDR2 is more agile and has more realistic animation.

Hey dude, it's the reason I don't play online anymore. The scripting is ridiculous. I can dominate my opponent easily until I score and then suddenly it keeps the game close allowing them to nick a draw or maybe a lucky win
Really it's that bad online? I'd like to buy the full version for online, but every time I see opinion like this, I change my mind :/ I don't understand why KONAMI, so rich company, can't spend some money for some kind of anticheat or better report system. I heard that they don't even ban reported players.
Hey Andrzej, it doesn't happen every game, but there are definitely strong instances and it's like...really strong when you just want to kill the game by passing another team to death... it's like, you've had the ball a bit too much and you're not doing a lot with it... let's make this fair lol.
Wait for them to make a mistake by jockeying or running towards my own goal whilst applying secondary press... as your secondary player gets close, then you use the player you're controlling to sweep up.
The lag between switching players is a joke, theres not as much freedom as there was last year. Rigid piece of fucking crap! I'll be glad to see the back of this years version
Loved this game at 1st but don't no what's happened the computer ai seems to win every header all my passes go way word and all long shots seem to go down the middle it wasn't like this at 1st. And mbappe gets out paced by the slowest defenders . Trash
Mbappe with the ball will get caught by defenders. Long ball over the top and see who wins between Mbappe and any defender... running with ball & sprinting without ball are two totally different things. If ANY player was faster with the ball than any other defender it would be a huge exploit which is what FIFA found in FIFA 15.
I have both too, the single step over is so OP for turning/cutting in from the wing in FIFA. (rotate right stick one quarter and then change direction using left stick.) As for PES, every scenario is different, once you learn what works and what doesn't.

They nerfed the special controls button online because many were abusing it and with lag it could make getting the ball back difficult.

Some will say yes. I say no, it's all taken into stats between physical contract and strength on ball.

Hey dude, how can you use a D-pad? My D-Pad is used to select tactics etc - however, to answer your question, it will be a LOT harder as you can only move in 8 directions, where as analogue can move 360 degrees. Cheers bro (example:- Smalling doing a 160 degree turn)

Hey dude, use this tutorial as it's the best way of protecting the ball, look how Smalling shielded the ball through movement after being pressed - being pressed is much easier to roll your opponents and get inbetween the lines. I will cover shielding the ball though.

All my skills are with auto feint on. You can turn it on in controller settings menu where you set basic, advanced, manual shooting etc.

Dribbling against the ai is not right imo because for the most part you have to just run around like stupid. The ai is always chasing me down from behind while the defenders in front of me don't approach me at all no matter how close I get to them. And that's not logical. Sometimes one single step would be enough but they don't take it
I agree, it's a BIG problem for me in football games. They need to make the slide tackle actually worth while, make it more effective, accurate and reduce the effectiveness of standing tackles. I watch a Premier League game and watch FIFA or PES and it's just not the same.

I don't like dribbling against the AI and prefer passing around them, it feels more satisfying every time you manage to pull off a tiki-taka combo to release a player through on goal.
Everyone has their own enjoyment of the game that's why there is the debate about Messi and Ronaldo. People love Ronaldo because he scores a lot and has the ability to score with his head and from long range... whereas others prefer Messi because of his dribble skills and vision.

Thanks dude, it will take time but once you discover the all the little touches, technique from players, player ID and also advanced controls such as super cancel - check out that video btw - you'll realise how good PES is and after mastering super cancel (will take a year or two) there will be no going back to FIFA which is on rails.

Reason being: If you're competing on Legend level, you don't need this tutorial. Aspects of this still work on Legend level. Just don't expect Pogba to hold off David Silva due to stat boosts (David Silva - 99 physical strength)

Wait for them to make a mistake by jockeying or running towards my own goal whilst applying secondary press... as your secondary player gets close, then you use the player you're controlling to sweep up.

Loved this game at 1st but don't no what's happened the computer ai seems to win every header all my passes go way word and all long shots seem to go down the middle it wasn't like this at 1st. And mbappe gets out paced by the slowest defenders . Trash
Mbappe with the ball will get caught by defenders. Long ball over the top and see who wins between Mbappe and any defender... running with ball & sprinting without ball are two totally different things. If ANY player was faster with the ball than any other defender it would be a huge exploit which is what FIFA found in FIFA 15.

I have both too, the single step over is so OP for turning/cutting in from the wing in FIFA. (rotate right stick one quarter and then change direction using left stick.) As for PES, every scenario is different, once you learn what works and what doesn't.
