Defence need to work this case till at least Monday late morning. Expert witnesses .Cohens Ex lawyer and at least one expert in finances and laws to explain why there no crime. The prosecution is trying to use a New York State election law for a federal election, in other words Bragg has no jurisdiction in a federal election. The FEC and the SDNY Federal DOJ both passed on this case as the FEC said there was no campaign finance law violation, that tied the hands of the SDNY because there was no campaign finance law violation. Bragg thinking that a state law overrides federal law is just stupid on Bragg's part, this case will end up being overturned if the jury blindly convicts Trump. The prosecution has never identified the crime Trump was supposed to have committed and they have rested their case.

The original crime was a campaign finance violation. Covering up that crime by altering business records is the crime he's being charged with. It's a felony in New York.

But we heard from the testimony in this very case that Trump has been doing catch and kills and NDAs for decades prior to his campaign. So those expenses do not need to be reported as campaign expenses, and the FEC agrees. Local attorneys from New York do not have the jurisdiction to dispute the FEC or intervene on their behalf to pursue a federal charge, so the idea that Trump altered business records to conceal a campaign finance violation is a total fabrication by the prosecution. And again their strategy for pushing it through the system is simply to not articulate it. Bragg is on record stating that he does not have to explain the federal felony. Which is absurd on its face, but the biased judge is letting him get away with it.

Paying a person to stay quiet about an affair is not a crime. Falsifying business records is a misdemeanor. If you pay a person to keep an affair quiet and falsify business records to cover it up to keep the public from knowing about your affair while you are running for office it is a felony. Since you are essentially defrauding the public by hiding relevant information about yourself during an election your are committing acts in furtherance of the crime of hiding information from voters so they can assess your qualities as a candidate. You may not like that law but it is a law and trump broke it. No one is denying he falsified business records, and no one is denying he conspired with the owner of the Enquirer to buy stories that made trump look bad and bury them, as well as publishing stories with little to no foundation and embellishing them with false information about trump's opponents. Those are undeniable facts that have been attested to by the people who did that in court. trump's defense is that he tried to stop the story because it would hurt his wife, but as trump's associates have testified he did not care if it got out after the election ended. That means his defense is garbage and he is guilty.
