Pub quiz stat for you: That starting 11 United treble team shown actually only started one league game together in the whole 98/99 season (versus Coventry). Football is definitely a squad game!
That's class that, I think I remember Johnsen being injured a lot so Berg playing, Butt started often too, then there's the strikers so yeah I can believe it
Fantastic as always Neil, been an admirer of your work on FM for some time now. Videos are always well produced and insightful. I thought Boro finishing bottom on 8 points at the end of season two was bad, then Swansea came in with 6 points... wowzers!
Thank you Liam, really appreciate that. You know what I hadn't even noticed that! I'll have to go back into the save to screenshot that and bang it on twitter
@@StingerNeilD more than welcome! Whilst not a United fan, Fergie’s tactics and longevity have always fascinated me. Been testing out trying to replicate his tactics on this years game. Came close a few times. But your video has been very inspiring, I’ve learnt a lot from watching it! I’ll take some pointers for my own fergie inspiration
Was struggling in mid-season (almost sacked and losing grounds to qualify for european spot) after winning the league last season with united then I decided to stick to the proven method that is what Sir Alex does at United regarding Squad Building and I just needed a tactics. This video pops up and we’re now on a 5 game win streak! Hell yeah!
Awesome video! can you try to replicate André Villas-Boas 2011 FC Porto tactic? he won the league unbeatable, the portuguese cup and the europa league. never saw anyone do his FC Porto tactic. Stay awesome!
@@StingerNeilD 4-3-3 formation that switches to 4-4-2 diamond on movements with LWB attack (Álvaro Pereira) RB full back on support (Sapunaru or Fucile) 2 BPD (Otamendi and Mangala). Anchor man Fernando, then DLP João Moutinho and Regista/AP Belluschi. LWF is an inverted winger Varela, C. Rodriguez or James to play more like a 10 but starting from the left and RWF Hulk is Advanced Forward on Attack, then Falcao as AF.
Hi I love what you do with the managers look a like tactics , I created 2 tactics of El Loco Marcelo Bielsa my self, the 4-1-4-1 from Leeds and the 3-3-1-3 from his time at Lille in France, the 4-1-4-1 is working out for me in lower league and the 3-3-1-3 is working out in my Romania Save , journey man. I would like to share them with you and what you think of it , maybe you have a idea how to perfect it even more to El Loco his way of playing football.
@@StingerNeilD I'm a Man U fan for my sins so to cheer myself up, I periodically watch the highlights of the 1994 fa cup match against Wimbledon. Irwin scores a great goal making an archetypical inverted full back run (and he was right footed)

That 7-1 against Roma 😍 kinda nostalgic
Great memory you got!
Love seeing a proper 4-4-2 tactic. Fantastic video. Definitely think there's an elite tactic in there with a few tweaks. Cheers for doing this one.
My pleasure amigo
Awesome. The real Manchester team
Haha steady on
awesome. nothing like a club with its real identity

Nice to hear it helped a little bit
Great positioning for Fernandez (and Rashford)
you can be our DOF with them sales lad bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'll take the wages
Can you make video on Rafa Benitez Valencia? I understand positional play, but I wonder how to set up counter attacking tactics. Thanks
Tough to do I agree, I'll take a look

aren’t those just the meta FM team instructions
Im going to try this on the 98/99 database
Ooo great shout
try a formation with 3 anchors please
I'd have played "Irwin" inverted wingback support
Another good option

@mw56101 he was signed from Oldham where I think he played right back yeah
stinger mate I know you have plenty of pep tactics already but how about completing the trilogy and going for his 13/14 Bayern one?
Good shout
How do have no injuries? Its impossible for me to play 3 games in a row and have no injuries.
Its annoying having your star players getting injured
Literally made a point of saying how 2 of my main strikers were out nearly all season 🙃
Heynckes at Bayern please
I keep losing to Villa, too
massive bogey team for me
