I heard this song few days ago and "bang!". I felt in love with the song straight away. It is so fantastically melancholic to me and touched deeply my melancholic soul.

The most beautiful woman I’ve ever known just sent this to me… she’s the love of my life that I lost for almost 20 years. It’s unbelievable what the universe has in store for everyone…. The only advice I can give anybody that’s looking for with any of this… would be to live as happy and kind as you can, and not to be afraid. Having some painful memories of someone good is one thing, but if you can hold onto them, it might have the power to bring them back to you. I don’t know what it is with life…. But it sure is exciting.
These last few songs aren’t really hitting for me like the old stuff. When you scream in the live-session recording of happy together and your eyes are completely disassociated, it’s 10x more powerful than what’s in this video because it’s visceral, authentic, and delivered so simply. The duality that you achieve by juxtaposing tender internal strife through your lyrics and blending them with rugged and often frenetic guitar riffs is the key to the most successful part of your sound.
I agree with a lot of what you said, but I don't think it's right to suggest the new stuff is not authentic. I'm a huge fan of the first 3 albums but I'm not a huge fan of the most recent album. I get the sense that it is authentic though, and it's exactly what's coming out of Leah at the moment, which is all you can ask for from an artist. Deliberately writing a particular type of music is an affront to the artistic process. The new stuff is chill and more poppy, but it's good for that type of stuff. If all I get is 3 albums that I'm in love with then that's 3 more than almost any band in the world gave me. Plus I'm still hoping I'll really like the new album. I just really hope Kyle is still in the band. Haven't seen him in a while and no one answers when people (usually me) ask about him.

I really miss the grunge. I tried so hard to like the last two albums, but nothing hits like Crockpot, horseshoe crab and beowulf.
