You guys are wrong on how much the deferred money counts againgst the CBT. Shohei salary counts about 46 million against the tax not two. It’s the actuall value as of today. The money is also put in an escrow and obviously the player has to agree to all this. It’s really not a loophole, If players are willing to accept their money down the line, you’re basically saying they shouldn’t have that option.
That and expand playoff or they not in it and had advance of nor having a couple weeks off that is not advance especially in baseball which is all typing
Perhaps some of the other teams should use the luxury tax dollars (Dodgers now have to pay a dollar tax for every additional dollar of payroll) to actually BUY PLAYERS instead of banking and then saying, "we're a small market team and can't compete!" Friedman has noted that if you offer what a free agent is worth, you'll finish 3rd. Any team could have had Tanner Scott or Kirby Yates. They'd rather put the money in the bank instead of into players ... or even scouting and advanced coaching! Dodgers aren't falling into the trap of saying, "We have great players, we're done." because they have a lot of OLD players and some random sample of them will be injured and miss a lot of the season and postseason. They're spending money for insurance and other teams would rather save money than fill holes in their lineup.
These guys are a joke 😂 Yates has been chillin for 3 months with no contract offers, but as soon as the Dodgers have interest "They get everybody, we wanted him" 🤣🤡 even Tanner Scott said the Dodgers were the first to call, which resonated with his wife. Message to the rest of the league: STOP CRYING AND MAKE MOVES.
The owners are being cheap right now, trying to sign players like Kirby Yates at a bargain by playing the long game. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are simply taking advantage of these cheap owners.
When the dodgers won the world series in 2020, the starting rotation was claytyon kershaw, walker buehler, julio urias, dustin may and tony gonsilon, and the catchers were will smith and austin barnes, starting short stop and center fielder two premier positions were cody bellinger and corey seager, not to mention joc pederson, edwin rios, and matt beaty, the 2020 team was almost entirely home grown (not to mention justin turner, max muncy, chris taylor being cheap reclamation projects .... dodgers have the ability to draft and develop players and enable them to use their prospects as trade pieces.... who were the home grown pieces on the rangers when they won? not you world series mvp?
thank God we missed out on Soto he doesn't fit in our locker room he is to darn cocky. I love the moves we're making. Instead of the rest of the league standing around watching what we're doing, and complaining why don't they get their weight up and start making moves.
Same with the Cubs and Tanner Scott. The other teams should have pounced early while Dodgers were distracted up until last week.. Scott wanted Chicago but Cubs didn’t commit that that extra year until it was too late. The Dodgers decisiveness, not their money, is what should be scaring the other owners. They strike first and they strike fast.
In building home grown talent you must remember that teams that consistantly win are penalized in the draft. The Dodgers in the past 10 years have either picked 29th or 30th. The Dodgers have also done it with trades dealing their draftees for veterans (Mookie Betts. Shoei would have originally signed with the Dodgers if the NL had the DH when he signed with the Angels.
I been saying this for a long time now, Owners need to spend money!! I'm a long time Dodgers Fan, yes they have outside resources, Spectrum Cable deal, US Sponsors, and overseas sponsors as well. They are not doing anything wrong. Its called smart financing!!
Players have to agree to forgo millions on a possible contract cause of a salary cap and fans' feelings? Should a podcast have revenue taken away cause of another podcaster that has 1 subscriber?
Didn't the Rangers spend a ton a couple years ago? Lol. Nobody says they "bought" the 2023 championship. But if spending guaranteed anything, then the Yankees wouldn't be ringless the last 15 seasons.
What’s gonna be your new complaint after a salary cap is installed and free agents are taking less money just to play for the Dodgers? Are you gonna cry for the Dodgers to leave the MLB next???
Quit worrying about how much the dodgers spin and go out and get you some free agents tanner and Yates have been free agents for 3 months nobody bothered to sign them and now you want to cry like little babies because the dodgers signed them😢😢😢😢
stop haten you team don't spend money like the dodgers do so stop haten where we're you when the Yankees got all those super stars ba c k in the 80ies 90ies and early 2000 you and anybody never cried about it but because it's the dodgers your cry you will really be crying next year when the dodgers get bo belchete or vladdy jr to LA
I believe that with the current Dodgers roster, they are strong enough to defeat the alien teams representing the other 29 planets, and claim the championship in the “Interstellar League.” 😎
The Rangers had plenty time to sign him
Every team is rich, every team doesn't have the balls the Dodgers do. Thats the difference
The rangers bought their World Series when they signed Seager

Kirby was a free agent for 3 months.
Why didn't the Rangers sign Yates months ago?
lol only reason you mfs won a chip was buying Corey Seeger

Basically every major sport gives out participation 🏆 and some of those teams win that did not deserve it on their regular season results
Baseball is not dead,.. it's alive and well. it's alive!! it's alive!! Stronger than ever... please sign players.

"Shohei Ohtani counts for 2 million" for the luxury tax.
NO. he counts for $43 million. This was widely noted last year.
$46 mil. Which was the highest AAV ever given out at the time.
BET if the Rangers were spending this way you wouldn't be crying for a salary cap
Honestly these guys are literally embarrassing themselves and the Rangers. I wished they would stop saying all this stupid stuff.
Nope he would be saying other teams should do more
@@samuelsandate9804clowns 🤡

deferred money isnt a loop hole
That's right. It's a rule, not some genius "hack".
Why did the Rangers wait? You guys should of signed him, you snooze you lose 😆
Ehh the only ones complaining are the ones who arnt dodger fans. Dont blame the dodgers blame your team that the owners are acting so cheap

Can’t blame a guy at the end of his career wanting to get a ring.
MLB needs to make these owners spend money, not put 95% of there revenue into there bank account
Why earth why would you want to get rid of deferred money?? Dodgers are using it just fine..So are the Blue Jays!! Your owners need to srep up sir!
The owners are being cheap right now, trying to sign players like Kirby Yates at a bargain by playing the long game. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are simply taking advantage of these cheap owners.
I don’t get it. You wanted him . But let him sit on free agency for this long? What were you waiting for….
Lol it been like this for years and no one was complaining until dodgers and Yankees did it
You owners need to step up and spend money for their fans! Greedy ownership!!
PEOPLE DESTROY THAT WHICH THEY CANNOT UNDERSTAND NOR CONTROL

Quit crying. Why didn't he rejoin the Rangers 😉
We sure as hell did not want Soto…
Lol we "missed out" on Soto 😂😂😂

Impossible to hate the Rangers especially when the Trashstros er Asterisks are in the same state.
Players have to agree to forgo millions on a possible contract cause of a salary cap and fans' feelings? Should a podcast have revenue taken away cause of another podcaster that has 1 subscriber?

We’ve already done that. We’re trying to buy a dynasty. lol
Cry some more fellas 😘
Need a floor too. Too many unsigned FA getting nothing
Top of the class front office on full display for everyone to see go dodgers👍✌️⚾️😀

don't cry 😥😥😥😭😭😭😭😭
No doubt deferred money rule will change, thats why the Dodgers are using it right now before the CBA changes. Again outsmarting everyone
Nah, the players don't want any changes. They like deferring money because it saves them money down the road.
I believe that with the current Dodgers roster, they are strong enough to defeat the alien teams representing the other 29 planets, and claim the championship in the “Interstellar League.” 😎
Cry harder 😂
