This absolutely takes my breath away...WOW. Thank you so much for the various videos like this, can't tell you how much I appreciate having it in my bookmarks, so anytime if I feel low, I just look through them and feel soooo much better.
That's just incredible. One of the best aurora timelapses I have ever seen (and the first of noctilucent clouds as far as I know). Great night, great work. Well done Maciej!
Fascinating, tastefully done, and absolutely beautiful!!! There was one scene where, for a moment, I felt my imagination was being carried off into the distance within the clouds. First rate!
Living in Glasgow I have the privilege of visiting this beautiful part of Scotland often. I would dearly love to see this amazing sight for myself some night. Wonderful. Well done.
Thank you. These are red lights on the mast of TV transmitting station in Rumster Forest in Caithness. It is quite far from where I was shooting but because is quite high (about 230 meters) than is clearly visible.
Hi, I have used 2 Canon cameras to shoot this 7D and old 1000D models plus few lenses ranging from 10mm fisheye to 300mm zoom lens. Because light levels were changing during shooting than I have used various ranges and combinations of ISO, exposure and aperture. If you will be more specific what condition you will have during shooting and what you will be hunting than I can give you better advice, for example for aurora shots when dark I often use ISO 3200, 8 sec. exposure and f/2.8
This is a soundtrack by polish young composer Jolanta Galka-Kurkowska. You can find her tracks and buy a licence on Pond5.com website. Here is a link to her account pond5.com/artist/JolantaGalka
Spent many weekends on Rumster Hill photographing the hillclimbs. I used to take a few long exposures around Caithness on my trusty Praktica LTL3 and later on a Canon AE1. What I would have done back then for a digital camera!!! Another fantastic video...
Thank you. Yes, I have seen aurora pictures from north of Ireland from that night and only upper part of aurora was visible due to more southerly location.
That is beautiful... congrats on your wonderful capture.... i was out that very same night in Ireland and i cpatured the Aurora... but the NLC's were too far north beyond the Horizon. Keep up the Great work. :)
Yes, few meteors which you can see in this movie are early Perseid meteors which are remnants of comet Swift-Tuttle burning in upper atmosphere when Earth passes through trail of debris left by this comet.
Dzięki, cieszę się, że się podoba. Zjawisko zostało zarejestrowane z Caithness w północno-wschodniej Szkocji, dokładne koordynaty GPS miejsca to 58.261357 N, 3.611284 W.
Yes, Noctilucent Clouds in recent years venture further and further south and there were NLCs sighting just north of Vancouver, I think I have even seen short movie from that event. Try to type "noctilucent clouds Vancouver" in YT search engine and you should be able to find that movie.
Chciałbym tam być wraz z Panem i jeśli nie filmować, to przynajmniej towarzyszyć podczas tych zdjęć. Zachwycający jest ten film, więc wyobrażam sobie, jak musiało to wyglądać na żywo. Pozdrawiam i gratuluję świetnej roboty:)
totally awsome is it possible to know what equipement you take and the time of exposure and iso you have to take to have this results i would like to try this when i will be hunting at my camp i got very dark sky's so keep up the very good work and sorry for my english i'm french so i try my best :)
Superbe !
Auroras are associated with Sun activity which increases and decreases in 11 years cycles. Flip of the Sun poles marks the peak of Sun activity which means that auroras can be stronger and more frequent although there are also other factors involved. Sun activity of this cycle is quite weak.
Thanks. I don't think that this song has a title. On website where I have purchase a licence for usage of this song it was describe by composer as a "soundtrack".
Thats just magnificent. Im doing quite much timelapses last times but quality like this is thing i can only dream of. Mine are done by smartphone :P Szacun!
The problem is that you can't predict events like this, that's just pure luck and because these joint events, like this one are rare, this makes this footage quite unique.
Maciek, the movie is a great mixture of magnificent views and great skills. Well done, as usual :) Keep up the good work! PS. Why not put your skills to use locally in Poland? We do have plenty to offer!
Very beautiful, indeed. To be precise, however, other clouds are not made of water vapour, but water droplets, and surprisingly many of them are made of ice crystals.
This absolutely takes my breath away...WOW. Thank you so much for the various videos like this, can't tell you how much I appreciate having it in my bookmarks, so anytime if I feel low, I just look through them and feel soooo much better.
To see the noctilucent clouds together with the aurora - What a fabulous treat!!
I've never seen anything like this before. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Thank you for the experience!
That's just incredible. One of the best aurora timelapses I have ever seen (and the first of noctilucent clouds as far as I know). Great night, great work. Well done Maciej!
I keep coming back to this video. It is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

Fascinating, tastefully done, and absolutely beautiful!!! There was one scene where, for a moment, I felt my imagination was being carried off into the distance within the clouds.

This is still one of the best videos of Noctilucent clouds. The music is becoming the theme song of the NLC's.
