keep it up buddy
AH! Magnificent Meg! good to see her out there fishing away.. Way to go Elias.. your such a good man my friend.. It does my heart good to see a man treat his lady-friend with such love and respect! Such good fun, watching your videos just leaves me with a calm happy felling .. I wish I was there but I am on a different ocean.... oh Meg! I am dyin' to try that recipe..I wrote it sown as you gave it.. My wife wants to use it tonight.. yum yum.. Thanks guys I really do appreciate these small moments of enjoyment.. more than you know.. carry on!
Elias, suggestion, the spanish mackerel is good grilled with rice. Just prepare soy sauce with lemon for dipping is great to go with the fish. Very simple the way pacific islanders do.
Great vid. Our family loves bluefish. I catch it regularly when I surf fish in Melbourne FL. It makes the best homemade Fillet-O-Fish sandwiches. I bread it after egg washing it, pan fry it, then serve it with shredded lettuce and tartar sauce enhanced with Slap Yo Mama or Everglades seasoning. So good!
I split the blood line out of all my fish, total flavor changer. Good stuff.
Bluefish soaked in buttermilk for a few hours will make it better. I smoke it with Alder on a cedar plank with creole seasoning and lemon slices. Can't beat it!
What a treat to watch Meg's expression when you hand her the rod! Sweet enthusiasm.
Bluefish smoked is awesome. My wife makes an amazing Smoked Bluefish dip. Love the surf videos with Meg!
The beauty in the video is your joy in fishing, sea and eating fish. Thank you, and may God prolong your life
What a date guys.
Good yous!
Man missed your C&C's those were the first fishing videos I started watching, miss you and Mario cooking up a catch, stay safe and keep up the great work much appreciated!
Man, your channel is a godsend. I live just south of you, moved here about 9 years ago but just now finding time to start fishing. Don't think my wife will let me take my kayak offshore ( I sneaked out about 2 miles once while she was in a conference but my MIL ratted me out!).
My 22' Simmons will finished in the spring and I plan to use what you've been teaching to improve my catch rate.
Promise, I'll give you a shout out if I see you but will stay out of your way! 😊
Great one.!! Great Strike and Nice Fishing sharing.!! Powerful & Support..!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Meg has too much fun, she enjoys the learning.
One way you can remove the fishy taste out of any fish that its prominent in. Use a zip lock bag , after you fillet and remove the bloodline , toss the fillets in the bag with a half cup whole milk and a touch of vinegar or lemon juice , like a cap full. Leave over night in fridge , then next day pull out and wash off fillets. Then season with choice of sauce like ya did in video , same process. Completely removes any fish taste and the acidic side of the lemon juice or vinegar will actually firm up the meat some and make it much better for use on like fish tacos , or anything else where you want the meat to hold together a little.
I enjoy your beach fishing vids Elias. You don't do enough of them in my humble opinion. Plus, it's always nice to see Meg.
Buy 10min brown or white rice.... 👍
I agree rice goes great with fish....so does grits!
And of course.... homemade slaw!!! 😋
Got into some Spanish like that 2 weeks ago here in NE FL. Filet and de-skin them, and complely bisect the filet to get rid of the blood line. Wrapped in foil with cajun seasoning and butter at 350 for 18 mins...delicious with zero fishiness.
Have you ever heard of putting your bluefish fillets in dill pickle juice for 40-60 mins before cooking? Trust me, you NEED to try this in a future video. I promise you will love it. Old timers taught me this trick and it makes average fillets taste like cod fish.
We use long shank hooks for mackerel, helps prevent getting bit off. The Mustad long shank beak hook #1 and greenbacks at the sunshine skyway.
I use the 2x long shank hook and 20lb mono. That extra shank length really helps. Wire only works if they are feeding heavily, for me anyways.
Wow amazing fishing 🎣 nice view sea and nice catch big fish 🐟. Cooking fish.
You video watching good 👍.
Meg,Elias, Show us the Surf monsters! Big Spanish would taste great! Love how enthusiastic Meg always is when fishing.looks like fun! Meg is cleaning house today. Great drag runs. Prayers sent for Meg, Elias.
Stay safe from Pennsylvania. God bless
Great video and great cooking ideas. I like smaller bluefish bled immediately and fried the same day to cook them. Blue fish the next day are awful! Spanish are good so many ways but smoked fish dip is a family favorite.
That was some stud Spanish from the surf...... great job with the catch and cook.
She looked so excited when you handed off... well done. Love the differen types of adventures.
Dude, thank you so much for listing the equipment you use in the description, even the leader line. THANK YOU
MEG IS A FUN,CUTE FISHING PARTNER
cool to see a video that anyone with a rod, reel and simple set up can go out and do.
Dude, you are blessed to have a woman that likes/is interested in fishing. Cool video as always.
Or cursed depending on how you look at it. My wife could care less about fishing which means I get to get away. We have been together 20+ years it's healthy to do your own things here and there. I've seen relationships ruined because the girl liked to fish too much and would never let him go without her.
Great day of fishing! Thanks for catch and cook review of both fish 🐟 🎣
I'm 77 now so my fishing days are numbered, but my mother taught me a trick with blues many years ago. Soak the big blue fillets in milk for 1 -1 1/2hours. You'll see the oil float to the surface & you'll taste the sweetest blue ever. She was born in Wildwood Crest & I lived in Ocean City, NJ. Love your vids.
Love the hook to table! …. Big ups on the glaze … Blue fish works well with a red curry… wet cooking
Loved watching Meg enjoying herself. This was a fun change of pace.
Hey Elias, hey Meg. Good to see you both fishing together again. Hope you have both been well and happy. Trying to stay above the water line down here in SWFL> Hoping to do my first kayak trip next Saturday... I'm excited. Will be fishing Collier Co. Everglades City areal. Hope you got a great shot of Meg with that Blue slicker and that sky. Cool, I love mackeral... Good job. Man, Megan that second one is a beauty. Great colors... Nice catch. Great fishing going to watch you guys clean, cook, and enjoy... Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. I love Mackeral.. Meg congrats on 2 new PB's.
By the way black drum is really good eating, here in south Texas we deep fry the fish, it's what we call postas de tambor. You guys should try it. And don't forget the salsa, limes and some corn tortillas.
I have fished and eaten Bluefish here in Connecticut My entire life I am now 60 tried it so many ways my favorite is actually 2 ways 1 smoked on a offset smoker and made into fish dip my second one is fillet and soaked in butter milk breaded in Panko and deep fried made into sandwiches don’t forget to bleed them as soon as caught very very important and remove as much bloodline as you can 👍🏻
Great job fishing. Nice catch. Surf fishing looks fun.
Priceless excitement face at 0:45 ... very cool
It looks good 👍...Los Fresnos Tx. We have South Padre Island, you would Love the fishing spots and jetties with our Beach.
@0.45 Her facial expression is so awesome. She was so happy to reel it in.
God, that bluefish stank sticks around for a long-ass time, too. I keep a bottle of white vinegar in my fishing crate in my car just to help with the smell. Love fighting them, hate dealing with them.
Agree, King Mac, Spanish and blue fish have a strong taste. Nice video.
Nice beach... Have a lot of fish
Nice MACKS MEG... MEG’S a Warrior 🍀
I really enjoyed your fishing & cooking!
Spanish Mackerel must be fresh enough for Sushi or Sashimi!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Put the fillets in some cold saltwater, bring it from the beach and put two or three caps of vinegar in the water and set em in the fridge for a hour or so and any worms or parasites will come out of the fillet.
Oh and on the blue fish I try and leave a little layer of meat on the skin so I don’t have as much to clean off the fillet. I try and do that with any fish that has a big blood line on the skin.
Great video...enjoyed the catching also learned a recipe to try next time I cook up a batch of Spanish Macks...keep the videos coming 👍🏻
What a sweet heart ya got. Good cook to boot! Heading down middle of next month!!
Looks like a tasty preparation.Great work as always!
Great video! I personally like eating bluefish in the 12-18 inch size, but they definitely aren’t for everyone. Spanish are great and super fun in the surf.
Another great video Elias thank you..
unusual but good to see you on the beach
Excellent! I'm excited for next week! Hopefully the OBX isn't too blown out from weather. Also hoping to do some sound side fly casting for baby reds or flounder.
Pretty sure it's just clotting blood and not a parasite. I've caught a lot of Spanish Mack's, like thousands, and I've not had any parasites. 95% of them from NC also.
Meg's a soldiers and you are fishing royalty man!!!
Great to see Meg fishing with you. She gets so excited catching fish. Did you get her a kayak yet.
Always blows my mind youre not big on blues. Everyone is different but we love them. Spanish blues mullet and pompano are our go tos.
Headed to Wrightsville Beach fishing the point this Sunday and this is super encouraging; hoping to get my brother in laws hooked up on some fish. One of them has been fishing a number of times and at almost 30 has never caught a fish in his life!! Thanks for the vids!!
Small cocktail blues are delicious
Both of those fish, do fry very well.
Nice job Elias & Meg! Nice catches with the mullets.
One of the nicest eating fish!
Hi, Elias! Really enjoy watching your videos and feel like I'm learning a lot (though we'll find out one I finally go fishing again). Question regarding when you go to fishing for groceries: Which species to you find keep the best in the freezer? Do some cook up better after thawing than others? Thanks!
just used live and cut mullet the other day for some reds! cant beat them for bait
Completely loved this video, thanks!
I've tried bluefish many ways...hands down, my favorite is super easy! Taco seasoning and breadcrumbs. Pan fry in butter...ENJOY!!
You are a really well rounded angler
I had King mackerel from a charter trip in Florida. There was a restaurant at the dock that cooked our catch (some of it). It was fantastic. Took the rest back to the cottage. Took the fillets and wrapped then around a crab and Ritz cracker stuffing (we also caught the crabs). Seasoned and baked. Fucking delicious!
I'd like to see the length on those mackerel 🙏
I’ve found blackened bluefish to be delicious! Particularly the fish 2-3 lbs or less
I feel like I am a third person on there date lol
And we're not going to talk about how much he sounds like Ray Romano?
I didnt notice until now....you bastad lol
That sandbar took off like a rocket with that bait !!! Awesome content just subbed
Great video! Mullet run is going on here in North Florida! Tight Lines Everyone! #MilesAwayFishing
Unbelieve , its really awesome
Yuhuu.. Fishing lover
Yeay yeay
Fish on ...
love this type of fishing
Thanks for sharing!
I was in South Carolina this week. I was using a casting net to catch live mullet. I was surf fishing by free-lining them and had a big bobber on top, hooked them just like you did. No luck for me unfortunately. I will try your method next time!
I tried the big bobber during the week with a hard wind at my back. It should work as well. I think you need the right conditions for that method as well.
I dry brine and hickory smoke blues on the charcoal grill and they are good!!
Very effective . Nice spot. Keep safe . God bless
Where your fishing on the beach did you just pick a spot over you looking for something specific? Thinking about taking my wife down for her birthday on Tuesday
try just zesty Italian salad dressing marinated then grill . basic and taste awesome. for the Spanish
Blue fish very good 😍
I love blue fish my favorite way of eating it is really simple salt pepper light flower and deep fry.
Awesome video bro.
Meg is back! So much fun to watch. The BG is holding up on the shore. Have you tried the Spinfisher VI Live Liner in the surf yet?
Man she did a great job !
Great channel. I caught blues on the bay in Newport, RI in jr. high with lures. We ate one and it tasted horrible. It was catch and release for those fish from then on. Blackfish was great eating though. Only caught one and on crabs.
She is going to keep you young buddy.
good fishing - you accomplished mission - pls try to do some fishing for kings and albies/bonito as the blitz happens this fall - do some chumming? don't go overboard due to sharks but it can be effective in keeping them around
do some panko and grilling and make sure to stock up - easy st is not going to last
you taught your gf howto perfect - very patient and you all keep it low key and fun - the fish variety is great, catch and cook is great - you should rate the final product - also don't eat the big monster fish - staying with the small ones is def the most healthy way to go
Love the vid Guys, keep them coming.
Does Meg yak with you out in the deep or on the reefs?
I'm liking the vids from the surf 👍🏻 more would be great
That preparation looked fire. Next time you get onto some pompano I highly recommend doing a misoyaki marinade, unreal.
I'm guessing the majority of the guys watching this dude fish with his wife are all thinking "yooo this is 1 lucky guy"..being able to enjoy the outdoors with your wife/gf that's not only enjoying it with u but also enjoying to be around??🤣 hard to come by
Different species of fish compared to NY. But some are the same. Nice video from the surf. ANY RED SNAPPER VIDEOS COMING SOON??✌🏾✌🏾
Love the surf fishing videos. Keep it up.
shes adorbs. Your best catch yet.
No blues no sharks in the Pacific love it!
Uncle Ben's rice only takes a few minutes and us real good!
yes i love blue fish exelent fish Thanks
Speaking of tough, have you ever done a catch and cook halibut?
