That would be me 👵 I am shocked at the amount of things I have that is "vintage". I really really need to upgrade a lot. 🤣 (they used to make things well, seems like all my new stuff breaks without much use)
Back in the day, a “record player “ was a small portable turntable. It had a built-in speaker (which gave the music a slightly “tinny” sound) and it was lightweight. Your beautiful system is a hi-fi (“high fidelity” sound”). Sometimes my parents called theirs “the stereo”. A stereo had two speakers on either side so that, standing in front, you were surrounded by the sound. Heady stuff, back in the day! I hope you’re able to find someone who can tweak your turntable’s speed! 🎶
That last black cocktail dress is stunning!!! With the hat and the stockings it looks like an ensemble that Violet would wear in It’s A Wonderful Life. “Oh, *this* ol’ thing? Why, I only wear it when I don’t care how I look!”😏💃
So remember my grandmother wearing that corset/hose holder...she was a snazzy dresser...always well put together, especially for church...she had such good taste...have a picture Of her in late fifties with a lovely floral dress with a crinolin petticoat...also, when you swish some of the slips in your videos, it takes me back to watching her dress for church...it was her only real outing and she made the best of it....in fact, you didn't recognize some of our neighbor ladies on Sunday...as they really dolled up!!!
BTW. My Auntie used to take the 2 silky pillow cases and make a skirt slip with one and add ribbon to the other one , (lace side up) and make the matching camisole top. But that was the 1940's during Wartime. A lot of Women sewed back then. They would take that table cloth and make a circle skirt in the early "40's and use the scraps to make a purse or hat. That's the thing about being a Woman, we're ingenious.
That cocktail dress was amazing. I just recently lucked out at our local thrift store with a cotton long wrap around sundress. I think late 50s early 60s. I never find amazing stuff like that. I'm always so jealous of you!
LOVE your thrift haul videos! Both those dresses are fantastic! Good thing my husband didn’t hear about the 10 record “changer”……he would NEVER let one record drop down on an other one!! I think the kids have missed out on the enjoyment (and frustration, when the records stick) of total interaction with your music….flipping through the collection, choosing what you want to listen to, take it out of the cover & sleeve, clean record, start record player ……and ENJOY YOUR MUSIC OF CHOICE!!
My parents had a big record player that was more vertical, and in a wooden cabinet like that. It was in the corner of our living room. Our next door neighbors had the "buffet" type cabinet like you do. Our TV was also in a french provincial wooden cabinet with for legs and feet. I was born in '70. xoxo
Wow, some really great finds! I love the cocktail dress, so pretty. The stereo is very similar to one that my parents had. I remember playing Disney records on it.
I remember my dad and grandfather both were very proud of their stereo systems back in the day. Grandpa had a Magnavox TV plus stereo and radio in a very nice cabinet. Dad was big on waking everyone up on Sunday morning with the FM station on his. Good memories. I still see some of these at garage and church sales.
Great finds! When I used to visit one of my grandmother's, I was allowed to play with my auntie's "toys" (she was only 10 years old when I was born). She had one of those 3-dimensional viewer things with a lot of the cards. I remember some of them being actually spooky to me as a kid, lol. Re house plants, I know what you mean. I have just two very healthy plants at this point but in the winter just not enough sun for them here in my small apartment. If I could find a vintage floor-to-ceiling plant pole again to put next to the living room window, maybe... I had one of those vintage sewing box full of goodies I found at a garage sale but finally got rid of all that and my sewing machine since I had not used them for years. I had mixed emotions about downsizing a few years ago and parting with many things but it's something I felt I had to do. I thank God for all the good memories.
I am just dying over that cocktail dress!! It fits you perfectly and is just such a classy piece! Last time I went to Deseret I found 3 late 50s/ early 60s dresses - a brilliant blue floral brocade wiggle dress, a pastel floral chiffon-over-satin wiggle dress, and a purple rose print cotton full-skirted dress. The employees gave me such a funny look over how excited I was, but they are all so gorgeous!!!
What amazing finds ! That black dress is just fabulous ! With the cute hat, you gave me memories of Annie Potts in 'Pretty in Pink" vibes. Talk about timeless style !
Love your record player its absolutely stunning. The turntable will probably need to be degreased as old grease turns into gum over the years Re grease with silicone and it should run properly.
Yep, I was part of a Columbia House subscription, too funny! The stereo is amazing, how well remembered is the stacking of albums and the sound it made! But those dresses, those dresses! Your figure in that cocktail dress, there are no words beyond stunning! Love your channel!🇨🇦
The hi fi is to die for. In the early 90's I bought a hi fi set from the 70's that had record player, 8 track and cassette player for 15 bucks from a junk shop. I thought it was the coolest. When I moved out of my parent's house I had no room for it in a series of tiny apartments. After a few years my parents got tired of it being in the now "guest room" so they in turn sold it at a garage sale for 50 bucks. They thought they were doing great since they more than recouped my original investment of 15 bucks. I so wish I had that hi fi today. It had fantastic sound.
Awww, you look soooo cute with blonde hair! So many cool finds! Liked the ViewMaster and the mid-mod record player the most, as well as the SpongeBob background looking tablecloth at 8:20 17:04 Wear it for Halloween, you look like the “Bewitched” lady (I forget her name atm)
I love EVERYTHING you thrifted!!! Reminds me of my Mom's clothes. She had a similar sewing box. I especially love the record player!!! I would love to have one of those along with a TV, you know, the one that looked like furniture like your new record player does. In addition to the country singers you mentioned, I would add Crystal Gayle. Loved her back in the 70s, when I was a kid. Her hair always enthralled me!! I always wanted for my hair to grow that long but my Mom kept getting it cut :-(. Loved this thrift haul video and can't wait for more vintage fun!!
So memories!!! The handkerchiefs & table cloth reminded me of my Grandmothers. The slips and scarves reminded me of my sweet Mama (had to protect the do). We had a record player like that and lots of country albums. I'm from Kentucky and I love Loretta and Dolly is also a favorite. I saw Dolly in concert with Porter Wagner when I was a little girl. I'll never forget it she was so beautiful ❤️ still is today.
That black dress at the end is absolutely stunning, especially with how you put the whole outfit together. So so pretty & I'm just a little jealous of that particular piece! ❤️❤️❤️
One thing I’ve noticed is that you have to have a good eye for those thrift store clothes. Some of the pieces you pull out and I think, “mehh.” Then you put them on and they look great! The black and yellow cocktail dress is a perfect example. It looks stunning on you and might be one of the prettiest dresses I’ve seen you buy! I’ve never bought clothes at a thrift store before, but you’ve inspired me to give it a try!
Yes! You need to get your stereo Hi Fi record player fixed(looks like the one we had in our living room when I was a kid), wear that gorgeous black dress and host an online cocktail party with Deano playing in the background and share 50’s cocktails(or mock-tails) and appetizer how tos!!!! Fun. You really did find some great things in your haul this time. Also try planting a mother of millions plant, it’s one you cannot kill, grows little plants in the notches of the leaves and you can brush them off into another pot and they grow. I’ve over and under watered mine and they thrive. Have given lots away, wish you lived nearby so I could gift you some! 🥰 PS I love old linens and have quite a collection of 50’s printed table cloths like the one you found. My fav has salad bowls, tongs, salt & pepper shakers and olives all over it. Always reminds me of my grandmother’s and Great Aunt Martha’s houses!
I love your vintage hauls. The places by me that have authentic 50’s items sell for the online inflated price. So I just buy new vintage looking clothes online.
My grandmother wore nylon scarfs in the 50's. I remember when I was little she even wore nylon scarfs in the 80's too. I guess it was a old habit she held on too from the 50's to keep her permed curls from blowing in the wind.
That black dress looked so pretty on you. I had a stereo cabinet just like the one you bought. It was my first purchase when I had a job out of high school. Bought it at Sears with my Dad's help and then paid back in installments. Lol. Had it a long time.
Super cute red pillow cases. 😍. It makes you wonder if the person’s grandmother used the original material for a nightgown and then used the extra material for pillow cases. ❤️
It was awesome to meet you yesterday! I’m enjoying watching your vintage videos ❤️ I have so many things I think you’ll love because we like the same things 🥰 Happy Jello Making! 💕 GingerElla’s
i have been watching your channel for quite a while and love everything you put out! A collaborative video between laci and dylan hollis would be a vintage dream come true!
I adore your videos...you remind me of my Mom, Aunt and other ladies when i was growing up. I love the 'coctail' dress...it looks like it was made for you...take care.
Holy smokes, I was trying to pull out my keyboard to say what a gorgeous orange dress that you had found when you switched into the black dress. Well, all I can say is Stunning! I also loved the view master.
My husband collects old View Masters and reels. We've never seen that type and the rectangular cards. I love the record player. That's an awesome find!
I just love your hair color. I think it goes well with your skin tone and looks very fresh. Love that orange dress. It would be so cute for the fall with a twin set type cardigan. My sister, who was 6 years older than me, wore those corsets. Back then everyone called they waist pinchers.
My mom had the same green sewing kit what a memory wish I had it now 😕you find so many good things I also love Dean Martin wish that kind of music would come back thanks for sharing and as always you look Marvelous👗
I remember the Columia House Record Club; that's how I got my cassette tapes of Meatloaf Bat Out of Hell, Fleetwood Mac Rumors, and Queen tapes. I still have the Queen cassette tape.
My Mom had a yellow solid color sewing 🧵 🪡 box like the one you bought. She had so many odds and ends in it it was hard to close. I’m not sure what happened to it but I wish I had it. You brought back some good memories. Thank you! I loved going through it. 💜
I love the cocktail dress and the stockings with the seams. I also very much like the scarves, I have quite a stash of them that I inherited from my mother and I wear them frequently in the winter.
What a great haul! I think there is a scene of some kids looking at a view master in one of the Back To The Future episodes. I always wondered what it was, now i know 😎
You did great, Laci!!! That viewer is a real old one!! I haven’t seen that one in ages! All your clothes and linens are just adorable! It’s such fun when you can wear these vintage clothes as well as you do dear! Love your channel!
Fabulous finds. Love the dress at the end and the one you are wearing. Looks so cute on you with your vintage jewelry. You make want to hit a thrift store near me. Thanks
All of my table cloths from my mom and Nana are all stained 😄 I just make sure to put the serving dishes over the stains. Also, I remember those commercials! And your blonde hair looks great 💛

I’m still only at level 5🥲
The black dress looks like it was made for you - stunning! Xx
I just want to take a moment to thank the pack rats over the decades who didn't throw these things out so we can enjoy them now! 😀😁😂
Here Here....we love the hoarders.
Yes maybe someday they will be saying that about all us thrifters who save the stuff today 😁
That would be me 👵
I am shocked at the amount of things I have that is "vintage". I really really need to upgrade a lot. 🤣 (they used to make things well, seems like all my new stuff breaks without much use)
I’m 44. I remember the infomercials that were selling the complication cd’s. Wow, the good ole days!!
Hey my gorgeous friend!
That cocktail dress is exquisite!! I die!! What a score for $6!! Well done you & it looks divine on you too! Xx

Love the kitty planter!!!! You are so funny. Succulents never die!!!! SUCCESS! 😂😂🤣🤣
My favorite was the cocktail dressssss!!!! Beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for modeling your vintage clothes. It looks like you stepped out of a 50's fashion magazine!
That's what I said!
Great finds! The cocktail dress is fabulous!
You look lovely in all the vintage fashions.

OMG, that console! I miss these, my parents had one, and just thinking about stacks of albums piled up made me smile.
Those hose with the black dress. 🤩🧐❤️
$200 for a console that works!!!!😮
Great find!!
Can't go wrong with The Lone Ranger! 😍 I had a crush on Clayton Moore when I was in elementary school. The Lone Ranger was my hero. 😂

I remember those TV commercials selling the records and CD’s K-Tel was one brand! How fun!
"Whose Line Is It, Anyway?" does a whole parody on this!
Your record player is actually called a hi fi , I love your videos ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!
Yes!!! “High fidelity sound”…hi fi.
I also have a stereophonic!!! I spent about $225 for it to be fixed …. Love it 😍
Really liked the nylon scarf, and both dresses look really beautiful on you.
I've had a couple View Masters, with the flat discs, but I never saw one of those Tru-Vues! That's a cool thrift find! Laci Fay made my day!
Laci, I'm at the point where I like before I even watch. I just love it here at the vintage neighborhood 🏘🏡📺
K-Tel records...... the original 'mix tape'except that they were 33 1/3 RPM records.... lol great finds...
LOL you 'got lucky' at the thrift store..... that doesn't sound right...... lol
The head scarf is very Marilyn Monroe, beautiful.
Thanks! It feels very glam!
Love your record player its absolutely stunning. The turntable will probably need to be degreased as old grease turns into gum over the years Re grease with silicone and it should run properly.

Bewitched lady samantha as played by Elizabeth Montgomery

Love the view finder and the record player ❤️❤️
Love your haul and new stereo. My parents used to order many of those record albums from the TV commercials in the 1970's...and lots of Elvis! Fun..

It's true, Dolly Parton does have the greatest hits.
I see what you did there. 😉
My grandmother wore nylon scarfs in the 50's. I remember when I was little she even wore nylon scarfs in the 80's too. I guess it was a old habit she held on too from the 50's to keep her permed curls from blowing in the wind.
I really like the sewing box. My parents had the same exact one when I was a kid.
Those dresses are stunning! It's as if the dresses were waiting for you
That tablecloth is absolutely gorgeous!! Such great finds!!!
I remember my old Columbia house CD subscription! I probably signed up through one of those infomercials 😂
Loving the blond on you!!! You look stunning! And that record player.. OMG
That black dress looked so pretty on you. I had a stereo cabinet just like the one you bought. It was my first purchase when I had a job out of high school. Bought it at Sears with my Dad's help and then paid back in installments. Lol. Had it a long time.

My Mom had a yellow solid color sewing 🧵 🪡 box like the one you bought. She had so many odds and ends in it it was hard to close. I’m not sure what happened to it but I wish I had it. You brought back some good memories. Thank you! I loved going through it. 💜

We called the corset item "Merry Widows". I had one and wore it! I was in the late teens, early twenties.
I love the colour of your hair, gorgeous lady. You have got some amazing thrift shop finds there. I always enjoy watching your thrift haul videos. 💖
