I do think it's important when you speak about relating to the content curriculum that is taught in the regular classroom how important it is for e s l teachers to have previous regular classroom teaching experience ... At least one or two years. Our students spend the majority of time in the regular classroom. ESL educators need to have personal first hand experience to understand exactly what occurs and what the regular curriculum goals are. I also don't understand why you feel it is necessary to separate ells from any other students that lack language due to at bringing and so forth. Thank you.
