It's a shame that most game companies nowadays would NEVER have the balls to make something as ambitious or innovative as this. Probably because they're all too busy making COD and Fortnite clones.
The creator who lead this at Capcom later admitted even back then it financially wasn’t really useful to them but he did it cause once they got approval they knew they’d never be able to again. Was totally a passion project
I wish i bought this when it came out. As good as gaming is rn, this was next level. If society is still a thing in 50 yrs, imagine what an unopened copy of this game and peripheral could possibly go for!?!
Finished this game many times, it was absolutely Glorious! Then, they released a stand alone expansion (Line of Contact) that added online competitive multiplayer and the real war began. It was absolutely epic.
I have looked many a time to see if it would be worth me picking up an old xbox just to get this game. Would people consider that a good or baaad idea 😅
I wanted this game SO bad when it came out! But my Xbox had just died, si I sent it to Microsoft (extended or special warranty and all). Anyway, I'm thinking they were gonna repair my system with files intact...they sent me what may as well have been a new system. I was pissed. Needless to say, I never got the game
I'm literally working on that as we speak. Just finish the USB converter. And now I'm working on script and some things for steam input. I'm gonna try this setup with my steamdeck....
did you know that hd crt are the worst to play retro games? Are even worst then flat lcds, because they scale wrong the analog signal of your retro console. Switch to a non hd crt and you will see the difference!
You should watch the Linus tech tips on hdcrts. They actually showcase this specific model. They are good for xbox 360, ps3 generation, or games with pixels. I also have another crt, but I like this one for certain games. I also like watching vhs and dvds on this for fun. ua-cam.com/video/C_-9Rw5CJNE/v-deo.html

If you didn't eject in time you'd also have your save deleted. This game was brutal. Never finished it.
Same, the Game kicked my ass....
It WHAT???
@@2-bit567Well, you would be Dead-
Pro tip, if you pulled the controller cable out of the xbox it paused if you want to cheat and save your pilot.

I remember seeing them preview this game on Xplay back in the day and always wanted to own this. It's just as awesome as I remember.
Used to actually own it and yes, it's awesome! Ridiculously hard but awesome!
9 year old me would have sold his dog for this back in the day.
lmao i like how there’s a bunch of build up and then it skips to the next frame with “killed in action” that sums the steel battalion experience
I have this system :) mine has the blue buttons though. I love the tutorial. "GO!"
Nice, blue button was the second release of the controller. Low key I love that color scheme

Let's hope that society doesn't collapse and become an apocalyptic wasteland by then lol
Last I checked the controller alone is going for like $300 used.
Hold up did that just say it was made in nude maker?
😏🤔
This is the first im ever hearing of this and it has blown my mind
Me watching this video: IS HE GONNA DO IT, IS HE GONNA DO IT? HE DID IT!

One day I'll buy this. I should have done it when I was irresponsible with my spending in my early 20s.
Omg i remember this been a decade but dang bro!! Nice 😎😎😎🤙
Make steel battalion content more often! :)
There was a blue instead of green button version of the controller too!
yes it was the second iteration of the controller.

That about sums up the experience
There's a pedal too
