Devastating Fire at Athgaon
Guwahati: 17 Feb. A devastating fire broke out at Athgaon godowns, the heart of Guwahati City at about 6 p.m. yesterday.
According to an eye-witness, the fire started from a nearby chemical store and several godowns burnt down. Moreover, a few buildings near the godowns were also damaged. Two workers working in the godowns were killed and another four were seriously injured. Five fire engines arrived on the spot but they were very much late. It was imagined that the total damage was several crores of rupees.
