Nosh. Thought I would drop you a line to say how much I enjoy your videos and look forward to them. I’m a disabled angler and can only fish from March through to October. Outside of those times , it’s too cold and my hands and legs stop working. So I’m practically housebound this time of year. Your’s and Woody’s videos give me my angling fix in the cold season. Thank you.
As a carp angler Alan we regularly fish in deep silt providing it is not black, decayed and stinking. After all if the fish are there, that’s where we fish. They are usually there for a reason ie food. Maybe try adapting a helicopter rig that can be fished in the silt. Instead of the usual match style helicopter rig of trapping a quick-link swivel between 2 float stops, try moving the top stop further up the line to the depth you think you want it to be fishing. As the rig enters the water the link will be pushed up against the top stop so, although the lead will sink into the silt, the rig should settle on top particularly if you are using a wafter and a longish hooklength. When you get a bite it also has the advantage of the lead in the silt acting as a bolt rig. It will also ‘free’ easier than pulling from the bank too since the fish is in closer contact with the lead. Might be worth a go 🤷♂️
Al, unlucky but at least you caught. For the last 4 weeks I have been visiting my mother in hospital and the last two have been end of life care with us sat waiting and watching. You and our Kid (Dave) have kept me entertained and happy all this time and allowed me to get on the bank through yourselves and for that I am grateful to you both, so carry on being Mighty and to Dave Keep on Baggin! We out!
Allen you deserve any success that comes your way, you stick at it through thick and thin and I’m sure at times you are upset and disappointed you always manage a smile!!! Keep up the good work I’m sure that the results will come in these big competitions 🎣🎣🎣
well done alan you at least get out there in those conditions wet cold windy ,it would be hard for me to sit in that now i used to but i like calm ,i enjoy sedate rivers and lakes even canals ,so i take my hat of to you ,and i hope you and woody do well next time out ,tight lines and full nets,,
Wind in yer face usually works for you, but then there's wind and there's a gales with driving rain, better than working ? Yes and think of all that healthy fresh air, bracing !! Cheers.
