I was 13 in '76 . I remember watching this going on right in front of my eyes on the telly . 3 years later I was leaving school . My parents asked me what I wanted to do . I said I want to be a racing driver . My mother said , don't be ridiculous , you must get a proper job . I hadn't got James 's big balls to argue with my mother , it just wasn't done in those days . But later on in life I did eventually get to race
I wish had the chance to Race... Cars etc . I was able to Race.. BMX .. as a Kid .. but even that was expensive for my Working Class family.. even with a Local Bicycle Shop sponsorship.. Riding gear paying my fees ... Transportation to Tracks.. was what killed it .. What I found was .. I'm a good spot, regarding all other things.. playing Pool one example, not over competitive... But... Racing!.... Even in local traffic... You know, that day to day, Slow is smooth, smooth is Fast, Hunting Apex, clean in, clean out, ... I can't turn that off... Even in my Daily Driver 1968 Dodge Dart.. inline 6 to V8 swap... I can still find ways to get around ... Faster and better handling Cars.. because of skill.. mastering left foot braking, and my own suspension setup.. Cheers from Southern California 🇺🇸... Never stop Racing
Every late 70's junior school boy admired James Hunt, Barry Sheene and Nikki Lauda. Barry and Nikki had balls of steel, both fought back from awful accidents- PROPER blokes. James was glamourous, charming, and very quick witted. LEGENDS.
Thanks a Lot for uploading such contents. Well done! I guess, it might have been such characters and incidents that causes the 70ties (and also the 50ties and 60ties) as such iconic ages. That has still such an impact on our pop culture until today. I was about 3 years old ,in 1976. And I just realized, how deep the Culture of the 70ties influenced me visually and emotionally, and defined my taste and my personality. You should create a account, wich shows up more of this legends of these ages.
Thanks...not my documentary though....you're right though loads of great contrasting personalitys in that age who made sport and music fun to watch because they were real. I've watched this so many times and it's still fun to watch. Cheers!
What gets me riled is the editors of the red tops, build them up and knock em down, it sells newspapers! There manipulation, causation of stories entrapping sports “stars” Like LBND by the BAZ of the mail. That’s Dallilglio of rugby. The journalists and editors of these stories are just scum, and check the records for those being successfully sued and as for Max Clifford all the editors knew and did nothing. The tapping into phones etc, that’s arguably not journalism that’s what Nixon did back in the day.
49:29 *Max Clifford, 74, collapsed at Littlehey Prison in Cambridgeshire where he was serving an eight-year sentence for historical sex offences. He died at Hinchingbrooke Hospital near Huntingdon on 10 December 2017 !*

The disgraced publicist died last December at the age of 74 while serving an eight-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a string of women and teenage girls an went to that place for him and Saville"!*
I thought max clifferd was great with jead guddy till I heard what he did Barry came back to race again James was a play boy I don't know about Barry there is no play boys in f 2 now could you think if Lewis was called a play boy there would be murder
I'm surprised this didn't say anything about the incident at the 1997 Australian Grand Prix when Gerhard Berger and Barry Sheene were accused of trying to make a "sex sandwich" of a 19 year old named Melanie Hilzinger.
54:20 *What happened to Max Mosley? Max Mosley killed himself after learning of terminal cancer ...Max Mosley killed himself after being told he was suffering from terminal cancer, an inquest has heard. The former F1 boss died aged 81 at his home in London in May 2021. Westminster coroner's court heard on Tuesday that he decided to take his own life after learning that he likely had a “very limited life expectancy”.!*
True.. that actual Legend.. lost the championship.. in Hospital... What's that say about his... so called Competition!?... Cheers from Southern California 🇺🇸... RIP Nicky L..
Too hard to watch and Follow!??.. I admire your courage to leave such an interesting comment on your inability to keep up with a Film Documentary... No worries to each his/her own..n

Most insulting bit was that .. Pat on the shoulder with some level of concern...

Sorry Olde Boy!!!...
I like how Sheene and Hunt would sit at the bar if the Holiday Inn(?) in Sydney waiting for the BA cabin crew to arrive.

So he had big balls too. He stood his ground against hypocrisy.
They’d have a short career? I don’t believe that at all, I honestly think if they are good enough they’d be just fine
🙋♂️
Champion only because Laura was concerned by the condition of the track. He wasn't that good
