    Just to add to my last point - when Doyle thought Bodie had betrayed him, (Involvement), Doyle got angry enough to punch Bodie; but when Bodie thought Doyle had betrayed him (Fall Girl), Bodie was the one who was hurt and upset. Remember the way he shoved the rifle at Doyle so hard he nearly knocked him over, then stalked off with that vulnerable, hurt look? Their acting styles complemented each other so perfectly and completely, and made the characters so complex, so real. And yet they never took themselves too seriously. That's why the Pros is STILL the best programme ever, and still works.

    I think that the still at 0.26 says it all. Bodie was always very protective of Doyle... Their characters were so different - that's why they worked! When Bodie was injured, Doyle got upset. But when Doyle got injured, Bodie got ANGRY! Yes. they loved each other - but they showed it in different ways. Such is true friendship.

      the two actors hated each other, reputedly.

      @@lindanorris2455Nope. There was some rivalry in the beginning because a different actor was casted as Bodie and was Shaw's friend but no chemistry between them... later on they were fine. Even Shaw - who was the one mostly against that change - admitted that it was Lewis' humor and constant lightness that got them through endless hours of shooting. If you scroll for backstage pics you will find a vast amount of them behind cameras that show quite the opposite from the 'hate' they were rumored to have. Besides that rivalry and antithesis was the main cause that the ensemble was fromed with MS and LC by the production, to exactly have this chemsitry instead of the lukewarm facade they had initially with the first actor. Also watch "This is your life" for Lewis Collins. says a lot.

    the expression on their faces - simply beautiful. Their timing - synchronized to the minutest detail, yet completely natural. i watched one music video of the NEW professionals = completely expressionless. their eyes were as dead as a tree trunk - and i thought watching the Great Wall of China would be more exciting - at least it has grooves, twists and turns.

    Lewis Collins wasnt bad in it to say before the Proffs, he was a truck driver in Liverpool!

    • @joanhammond1217
      @joanhammond1217 7 років тому

      After driving trucks, Lewis was in Drama College, then teaching deaf children in Glasgow, then in a sit-com, before the Pros. Get your facts in the right order... And there's only one F in Professionals.

    These videos with bloody awful soundtracks just make a mockery of a classic British TV programme.
    Leave it alone!
