I wonder just what the Dutch civilians were handing to the soldiers at about 5:16. My late next-door neighbour who served in the R.E.M.E. and was in Belgium and The Netherlands at that time said they were told not to accept food as the people hadn’t enough for themselves. But they were so overjoyed at being liberated they brought out drink and homemade cakes etc.
