Hi Tony, I'm from Costa Rica and I just bought the SMAN 480V and is funny that Fieldpiece for this leak detectors made a very nice case and for the SMAN 480V Fieldpiece just made a simple nylon bag.( Sorry my English is so bad )
i use the DR58 i love that the charging port just needs a type C which i already have plenty of sitting around. showing the numbers also really helps dial in without guesswork. a little disappointed that he didnt lower his sensitivity to be positive of the exact location, but...... it is a lennox coil ofc its leaking at the equilizer
Yes. Those tips are useful and I imagine I already found the answer to my question within but I have to ask since I've looked online and can't find anything.....what does it mean when you warm it up and it says "bad warm up"??

Hi all ! I want to know if anyone has used this detector in the automotive industry and if it accurately detects r134a and r1234yf? thank you in advance !
I purchased a Fieldpiece heated diode leak detector in approx 2015... noise defective pump from day 1 and not detecting leaks... I dropped it off at Fieldpiece in Orange County and they said that it was defective... I used the credit to by a Field piece SLR2 IR detector... from day 1 i would get a ton of false leak reading... it did detect real leaks although not small leaks; but i would spend tons of extra time ( like a lot of time) chasing ghost leaks... the last 2 years even if i just bend the pick up sensing wand to differant angles now and then the meter would show a leak while in uncontaminated ambient air but not always..... I called Fieldpiece last week and they said to bring in the detector and they would replace the sensor for $190.00 even though it is suppose to have a 10 year sensor life and the problem existed from day 1. I asked if i could get the DR82 at cost since both my detector gave me so many problems. that was not an option...Not sure if i want to spend another $500.00 for another Fieldpiece problem detector????

@@FieldpieceProducts can you also make an update to the joblink app and include more features for the sc680, the app is perfect for the probes and temp sensors but it sucks when it comes to the sc680.

Mine is broke within a year ,always been in the case , I had inficon for 4 year no problems , now I'm going to send it to fieldpiece and pay a lot ,cause warranty is out by a month
Why couldn't the audio indication be louder? If you are working in an industrial environment you quickly realize you can't hear the detector at all. TIF was MUCH louder and FASTER to latch onto leaks than this tool. I have stopped using this and use my Inficon instead, at least it finds leaks anyways.
@@PIndyJones You ever work in a pump house with compressors and vacuum pumps running? It’s LOUD. You also don’t always have a line of sight on the tip of the leak detector. This detector has also failed to register on refrigerant leaks I have verified with soap bubbles.
True, with the inficon it also has earbuds so you can focus on the sound trust I worked in motor rooms it can be annoying. I have a fieldpiece now but trying to see how good it works.
I've been using one for few weeks. While it picks up refrigerant it also reacts to thread sealwnt and leak spray so about as much use as chocolate fire guard. Going back to Javac type.
@@PIndyJones honestly , if the soap dont create a buble , then the sound level of the disturbance created by such tiny tiny leak is not enough to be pick it up by the sensor of this jig..
Good demonstration on how sensitive it is. I’m soon to put this to the test.
Flare nuts rarely bubble on small leaks. The opening is a slit that can't build bubbles.

Filter tip needs to be changed?
purchased a DR82 and the beep is so low almost impossible to hear it. How can I increase the volume
Idk about this one. Ive seen it not pick up any refrigerent leak compared to the prowler 5000
We'd love to hear your feedback!
Please can i use detector to detect leak when the AC is off and low on gas?

Should. If psi is too low on both sides add nitrogen to increase.
I just ordered mine. Can we replace the sensor?
Does it pick up r32 refrigerate?
Is this at Brownson technical school? I attended that school💪🏽

Does the system have to be running when looking for leaks or can it be off?
You have questions, we have answers! Use the “Explore” tab within the JobLink app to connect with the support team via phone or email.
Better to be off that way your psi are equalized and with it powered off you don’t have air movement with any blower.
do something like this for the 680 meter. I want to make sure i'm properly operating

I just bought this thing hasn’t been two days yet and I still can’t get it to work even on a tank of refrigerant? I think it’s a dud infrared model.😮😢

I bought this two weeks ago. Already used this on 5 systems I know were leaks. But couldn't find nothing! Thinking this infrared is crap!
I've found more leaks with infrared than any other. I'm never going back.

looks like they changed the design

Naw, you didn't get any bubbles because you weren't using Big Blu by Refrigeration Technologies 😂
TBH it doesn't look like anything special compared to a normal leak detector.

500 dollar water and soap..............
yeah that doesn't always work. I have an older model of the heated diode. I constantly find leaks that other techs "can't find" very quickly.

Lol. How you gonna see the tiniest of bubbles behind the tube that's next to the coil with 1 inch of room between?
