At 26:45, regarding the way to buff her extra attack. There is another way to buff it actually which is Append Skill 1 which gives 30-50% Extra attack effectiveness
Is that additive or multiplicative with her built in extra attack buffs in her kit. If it's additive I'm not sure how impactful that append skill will be. Since she can already boost her extra attack so much. Multiplicative would go crazy though. But I don't have her so this is just me theorycrafting. I might be wrong

Something to note is that after a same-type brave chain (ex : AAAE chain or NPAAE chain for aoko), the extra attack gets a higher attack multiplier (350% instead of 200%, 175% instead of 100% for Aoko). But still not worth using probably (you'd prefer to save her magic bullets for her NP).
Aoko's kit is quite interesting for sure. But for a reason that I will not specify here I will unironically save quartz for her like I saved for Maou Nobbu.

Once Foreigner class score releases, without a doubt she's gonna be the servant that benefits the most of it. Kuku will remain insanely powerful, Koyan Dark will be even stronger, but Aoko in particular is going to get A LOT back in the Extra and Buster department. She feels kinda like Arcueid; with low-mid investment, she's just ok at best. For those who hyper invest tho? 120 max appends Aoko with maxed class score is probably bonkers. I legit hope she has a future in the game, perhaps even getting buffs to solve this unnecessary extreme balancing towards making her the "not second coming of Kukulkan". Her top tier animations deserve the power to show them off often.

Her Buster and Extra performances are halved compared to other servants, making her AoE honestly kinda weak - only players who hyper invest into her (AKA a minority) will see them actually doing something. What's more, the first NP, which buffs her Buster and Extra, consists of a REMOVABLE effect, even though they're a permanent buff for the transformed state. Buff removal is frankly quite common in harder fights, many times happening upon breaking an HP bar. Her Supereffective niche is inconsistentas she demands too many Magic Bullets to be relevant, so she has to have dead turns to stack them enough for damage to be really significant; the Extra attack consuming all bullets is a huge offender for this issue, as even with CD reduction stacking S1 Magic Bullets is a tad hard. Lastly, her NP gain lowered in Super form coupled with the fact that her pre-transformation S2 gets blocked post transformation really seals the deal.

@@morsayxd She's only just OK because for all her complexity she doesn't meaningfully push the envelope in any direction, and has limited best use cases: she's not good for farming, she's not good for TAs, and needs high investment and commitment to understanding her kit for mixed play. In the end what she's a natural fit for is Castoria stall in CQs, which she's a good unit for but unremarkable given the solved nature of the playstyle.

The whole thing sounds like the only thing dragging her down is the mechanics of the AOE normal attacks. The other flaws become easily excusable if this wasn't the case and more team options open up. However because it is a game mechanic it is extremely unlikely to ever be changed.
The only thing thar drags her down is the need to NP before getting a real one and having no proper self charge in the base form, Its reverse jekyll he can transform easily but then gains nothing, she has a hard time transforming but becomes good.

Just the fact that she's Aoko is enough for me, I've been waiting for her for years. Best servant this year unless summer decides to finally give us what we've been begging for years.
A single NP interlude fixes the worst parts of her kit imo. Bumping those buster and extra damage up numbers to double that would go a long way to making her AOE face cards less embarassing then they can slap a QOL buff like NP gain rate or something to make her arts cards a little better. Here's hoping that actually happens at some point. Still gonna whale for her. Aoko best girl.
While more interesting of a kit I also feel it's less functional. Like if I wanted to stall I'd grab my Castoria, Merlin or Tamamoo and if I wanted to farm I'd use someone more suited for that. So for me Aoko gameplaywise doesn't really have a purpose other than being the first summonable unit with AoE Buster & Extra cards, that's it just a gimmick.
[Super] Aoko works best for dealing with wave 2 or 3 in 90++ multi core setups. She actually is really strong with Arcuid too because Arc’s 3rd skill and NP gives Aoko charge (at least 50% total) on top of Arc own 100% battery on 2nd skill to deal with Wave 1. Wish Super Aoko’s NP (and deck in general) was more Buster orientated though to synergize better with that 20-50% Buster up permanent uptime from using normal Aoko NP. Normal Aoko should have been more Arts orientated with more emphasis as a support role considering Normal Aoko has a skill that gives party 20% battery every turn.
I really love that double Aoko and Tonelico/Morgan team. Those charges are crazy and made Tonelico/Morgan alot better. Hoping to save for next year and the next 2 years.
What would be Aoko's append priority? Extra buff or mana loading first? It seems obvious, but I am honestly doubting myself given everything she has going on. Thanks for the video!
I see ironic that that Aoko is so complex when in Mahoyo out of her true Magic she only shoot Magic bullets, and Alice the one with the complex magecraft of invocation and semi reality control is way more simple in game
I believe the intent behind losing the S2 buff after transformation is that it literally turns into the passive, so it wouldn't make sense to have both at the same time. Sure, you could've differentiated them a bit more so it wouldn't be necessary, but so much of the game's mechanics are already defined by flavor, I kinda feel like ship has long sailed on that one. Even Aoko's Territory Creation and Item Construction are only there to show how much she sucks at magic. I also assume this is the same reason her NP gain is so gimped after transformation: she has to have a passive for her magic circuits, so the rest of the kit has to allow for it.
Wait, her AoE cards deal half damage to all targets? I thought she dealt full damage to the selected target and half to the other targets on screen, damn. Well, at least I rolled her cause I like her gameplay and her NP has one of the coolest animations in the game IMO. Great video.

I am quite content with Aoko because they don't make Type moon heroines OP maybe because they know they already are a fan favourite so they don't need to spike the hype by making them op. At the same time I love how Aoko just doesn't fit the norms, this is one of the few servants which makes fgo players actually read and understand the servant before putting it into action. We already have explosive servants fighting with explosive servants for that number 1 title so its kind of a nice fresh air seeing a servant who's just not like anything we've ever seen.
@@Dorrovian you could say that but talking about power dynamics usually leads to a power hierarchy where Arcuied isn't even able to beat her own class competitors. She's good no shade just nothing ground breaking which is what everyone is after.
If Tamamo gets a buff related to her NP or one skill buff that mirrors Koyanskaya this will bring out the potential of Aoko to fruition imo. Regardless of that, Aoko just as she is is simply too fun to use in mixed teams and she basically doesn't have to tie herself to a specific comp to be used.

even at np1 she would have been great on y account since i have both buster and arts supports. but it was not meant to be, even as i spent hours getting 4 servants above bond 10 to give me the goods and it was not enough
I think there needs to be maths done regarding her Extra card. I'm pretty sure it should be situationally more powerful than her NP cards. Keep in mind that Extra cards can also be powered up by Append 1 and Class Score (when unlocked) so there's definitely ways for it to out-perform her NP, assuming the Invul Pierce and/or Def Ignore is not needed. Also, keep in mind that Extra cards in a Triple Card-Type Brave Chain (unsure about Mighty chain) have a 350% card modifier instead of the usual 200% on a regular Brave chain.
Ok even it’s possible why bother , most cases you would rather use her NP still regardless, the np doesn’t even waste all the bullets if you have over 10
@@PlushieMistress In terms of solo runs, lower NP levels actually makes her Extra more appealing to use. NP1 with 8 starting stacks and max Append 1 as well as all of Super Aoko's buffs will result in her Same-Color Extra doing 1653.75% damage while her NP does 1176.12%. Even with team support, unless you can ensure that Aoko can have a persistent amount of Arts Up and/or NP Damage Up buffs, there will be windows where using her Same-Color Extra will result in much more damage. I'm just mentioning it because I feel that it's an outlook that's being missed atm and if someone wants to min-max Aoko's damage, they need to also take this into consideration. EDIT: Apparently, Mighty Brave Chains do not get the boosted 350% Extra modifier but gets the base 200% Extra modifier. Makes it less appealing and harder to make her Extra attack be useful unless solo-ing or by some miracle of god.
Nice video dude! Aoko may not be an explosive, out of the box farmer or dps, but her kit is super interesting and allows for some interesting team synergies / experimentation. Servants with interesting kits are a huge draw for me.

My team with Aoko support is double Koyan Light, Arcueid and Aoko, I focus in buffing Arcueid and in the final wave I will have Aoko and Arcueid Np available because of Arcueid's np charge, this is not a good team I think but is better than double Koyan, Arcueid and mystic code with cooldown reduction, not big of a deal I just commentig how Im using Aoko.
They already fixed the problem she has. Ptolemy and Melusine are in the game, even jekyll got a charge buff to transform(well he turns into nothing). If they wanted AoE to be usable we have mechanics like saber turning all her cards into buster etc. She was intentionally gimped for no reason.
I absolutely adore double Aoko and Tonelico setup! It's so much fun to do it Aoko has very unique kit and playstyle. I wish she'd have at least two buster cards in her deck after transformation but in general I love when they ate trying new things not just your standard 3turn farming unit (we have plenty already I want new, unique stuff) so I am happy with her and just so glad both Aoko and Alice are in fgo now! 🥹

I think you may have underestimated her potential for crit support. Her base form's 3rd skill is strong, even if the demerit nullification isn't useful for the main DPS. The 2 turn CD on her 1st skill makes it so she's going to be making a ton of stars over time, especially with 2030 ce. The 2nd skill gives 20% np per turn, which is also very strong. She can even help by doing some damage with her own crits, since the bullets give her a 50% attack buff. It's not going to be optimal, but using her as a support to enable crits has its merits. Merlin is going to be better, but maybe you want to use Oberon 😂
Hopefully in the future she will be buffed to be able to use NP turn 1 with only Castoria's AoE 30% charge. Right now she isn't really worth for most repeatable content. Or they could add the effect that all facecards turn into Aoko buster cards the turn she uses the transformation NP, this way she may be able to kill the wave.
No actually, at least not without wasting damage buffs because you still need to commit battery charge skills to trigger her transformation. So if you take one extra turn to transform castoria’s atk up, how own skill 3, and the missiles from her skill 1 activated before transforming will run out on turn 4

Well, the game is mostly farming so makes sense the criticism is focused on farming, if anything the importance of CQ/bosses is really inflated when talking about a servant.
90% of the game is just farming. It would have been a different story if this story has other game mode for end game content instead just one CQ, 2 if they are generous, per event.
@@owo4288 90% is being generous to CQs/main quest, even if you just use your daily AP on JP you will be doing 9 nodes daily and 6 during events, its a minimum of 180 nodes per months, its probably closer to 99.9%.

Sometimes Type moon need an easy balance servant, Aoko already a repeating tragedy from before. I'm overall disappointed of the over balancing effect, still though nice np song and design.
Pretty easy skip for me, I love the fact that they're experimenting with Servant skillsets (albeit almost 10 years in) but because of how the core game is structured (and because they're not the best at balancing character gimmicks) it's just not for me. It's funny how many Servants could be fixed (quite easily) if they just got their heads out of their asses for their skill/NP buff structure. Simple balance fixes would save so many Servants really quickly instead of making these braindead monthly (if not yearly) buff "events" that in some cases don't even address the Servants issue.
You don't like it when after 3-4 years a servants gets a crit up or guts skill or they buff the np dmg from a servant with 0-20% charge and no refund 🤡

The whole thing sounds like the only thing dragging her down is the mechanics of the AOE normal attacks. The other flaws become easily excusable if this wasn't the case and more team options open up. However because it is a game mechanic it is extremely unlikely to ever be changed.
The only thing thar drags her down is the need to NP before getting a real one and having no proper self charge in the base form,
Its reverse jekyll he can transform easily but then gains nothing, she has a hard time transforming but becomes good.

Her kit is a controlled mess where everything somehow works, the only thing that seems like they added last minute is this AOE Face Cards gimmick which to be honest is pretty useless since she only has one Buster Card in her DPS form and spending all the Magic Bullets on her Extra Attack is a waste

Yeah Idk why they think Permanent buff for 1 buster card is a good Idea anyway. Like besides the 3 turn crit buff the ramp up NP is too wasteful for a full charge. Like what do you go? Ooga booga with 1 Buster or go Arts Looping? Not to mention normal Aoko skill 2 and 3 is never gonna be used because they share CD.

1.) You NEED to get her Buster cards on turn 1, because one of them turns into an Arts card post-Redshift
2.) The damage from her Buster+Extra attack is nerfed to compensate being an AoE attack
3.) If the sole Buster card you get on turn 1 gets turned into an Arts card then your BB cardlock play is screwed right from the get-go

A single NP interlude fixes the worst parts of her kit imo. Bumping those buster and extra damage up numbers to double that would go a long way to making her AOE face cards less embarassing then they can slap a QOL buff like NP gain rate or something to make her arts cards a little better. Here's hoping that actually happens at some point.

While more interesting of a kit I also feel it's less functional. Like if I wanted to stall I'd grab my Castoria, Merlin or Tamamoo and if I wanted to farm I'd use someone more suited for that. So for me Aoko gameplaywise doesn't really have a purpose other than being the first summonable unit with AoE Buster & Extra cards, that's it just a gimmick.
[Super] Aoko works best for dealing with wave 2 or 3 in 90++ multi core setups.
She actually is really strong with Arcuid too because Arc’s 3rd skill and NP gives Aoko charge (at least 50% total) on top of Arc own 100% battery on 2nd skill to deal with Wave 1.
Wish Super Aoko’s NP (and deck in general) was more Buster orientated though to synergize better with that 20-50% Buster up permanent uptime from using normal Aoko NP.
Normal Aoko should have been more Arts orientated with more emphasis as a support role considering Normal Aoko has a skill that gives party 20% battery every turn.
Forgot to mention [Super] Aoko unique passive gives party 10% battery every turn which is also great for multi core support

Her Extra Attacks aren't really worth the investment so I'd say the 20% NP Charge is much more useful for her to reach Super Aoko more easily

I see ironic that that Aoko is so complex when in Mahoyo out of her true Magic she only shoot Magic bullets, and Alice the one with the complex magecraft of invocation and semi reality control is way more simple in game
I believe the intent behind losing the S2 buff after transformation is that it literally turns into the passive, so it wouldn't make sense to have both at the same time. Sure, you could've differentiated them a bit more so it wouldn't be necessary, but so much of the game's mechanics are already defined by flavor, I kinda feel like ship has long sailed on that one. Even Aoko's Territory Creation and Item Construction are only there to show how much she sucks at magic.
I also assume this is the same reason her NP gain is so gimped after transformation: she has to have a passive for her magic circuits, so the rest of the kit has to allow for it.
Wait, her AoE cards deal half damage to all targets? I thought she dealt full damage to the selected target and half to the other targets on screen, damn. Well, at least I rolled her cause I like her gameplay and her NP has one of the coolest animations in the game IMO. Great video.

I am quite content with Aoko because they don't make Type moon heroines OP maybe because they know they already are a fan favourite so they don't need to spike the hype by making them op. At the same time I love how Aoko just doesn't fit the norms, this is one of the few servants which makes fgo players actually read and understand the servant before putting it into action. We already have explosive servants fighting with explosive servants for that number 1 title so its kind of a nice fresh air seeing a servant who's just not like anything we've ever seen.

Aoko has an interesting kit, and has also the ability to shine on either a multicore farming run (with another AoE servant) or in a CQ environment.
If Tamamo gets a buff related to her NP or one skill buff that mirrors Koyanskaya this will bring out the potential of Aoko to fruition imo. Regardless of that, Aoko just as she is is simply too fun to use in mixed teams and she basically doesn't have to tie herself to a specific comp to be used.
perfect lengthy video for munching snacks to 💯 definitely won't hurt to learn more about her strengths and weaknesses, but even if aoko isn't meta i'll personally still try to np5 her and perhaps alice bcuz mahoyo sweep baby 🧎♀️

I think there needs to be maths done regarding her Extra card. I'm pretty sure it should be situationally more powerful than her NP cards. Keep in mind that Extra cards can also be powered up by Append 1 and Class Score (when unlocked) so there's definitely ways for it to out-perform her NP, assuming the Invul Pierce and/or Def Ignore is not needed. Also, keep in mind that Extra cards in a Triple Card-Type Brave Chain (unsure about Mighty chain) have a 350% card modifier instead of the usual 200% on a regular Brave chain.
Ok even it’s possible why bother , most cases you would rather use her NP still regardless, the np doesn’t even waste all the bullets if you have over 10
@@PlushieMistress In terms of solo runs, lower NP levels actually makes her Extra more appealing to use. NP1 with 8 starting stacks and max Append 1 as well as all of Super Aoko's buffs will result in her Same-Color Extra doing 1653.75% damage while her NP does 1176.12%. Even with team support, unless you can ensure that Aoko can have a persistent amount of Arts Up and/or NP Damage Up buffs, there will be windows where using her Same-Color Extra will result in much more damage.
I'm just mentioning it because I feel that it's an outlook that's being missed atm and if someone wants to min-max Aoko's damage, they need to also take this into consideration.
EDIT: Apparently, Mighty Brave Chains do not get the boosted 350% Extra modifier but gets the base 200% Extra modifier. Makes it less appealing and harder to make her Extra attack be useful unless solo-ing or by some miracle of god.
One buster card and all the magic bullets getting consumed on the extra attack kinda sucks too. Love her but yea she’s awkward.

Aoko may not be an explosive, out of the box farmer or dps, but her kit is super interesting and allows for some interesting team synergies / experimentation. Servants with interesting kits are a huge draw for me.

My team with Aoko support is double Koyan Light, Arcueid and Aoko, I focus in buffing Arcueid and in the final wave I will have Aoko and Arcueid Np available because of Arcueid's np charge, this is not a good team I think but is better than double Koyan, Arcueid and mystic code with cooldown reduction, not big of a deal I just commentig how Im using Aoko.

Aoko has very unique kit and playstyle. I wish she'd have at least two buster cards in her deck after transformation but in general I love when they ate trying new things not just your standard 3turn farming unit (we have plenty already I want new, unique stuff) so I am happy with her and just so glad both Aoko and Alice are in fgo now! 🥹

No matter how people view her usefulness, she is at least fun to play (at least for me) and that is a win
I think you may have underestimated her potential for crit support. Her base form's 3rd skill is strong, even if the demerit nullification isn't useful for the main DPS. The 2 turn CD on her 1st skill makes it so she's going to be making a ton of stars over time, especially with 2030 ce. The 2nd skill gives 20% np per turn, which is also very strong. She can even help by doing some damage with her own crits, since the bullets give her a 50% attack buff. It's not going to be optimal, but using her as a support to enable crits has its merits. Merlin is going to be better, but maybe you want to use Oberon 😂

No actually, at least not without wasting damage buffs because you still need to commit battery charge skills to trigger her transformation. So if you take one extra turn to transform castoria’s atk up, how own skill 3, and the missiles from her skill 1 activated before transforming will run out on turn 4

I think most criticisms are too focused on just farming which drags her value down a bit. Guess this means people got a wake-up call that "facecarding exists".
Well, the game is mostly farming so makes sense the criticism is focused on farming, if anything the importance of CQ/bosses is really inflated when talking about a servant.
90% of the game is just farming. It would have been a different story if this story has other game mode for end game content instead just one CQ, 2 if they are generous, per event.
@@owo4288 90% is being generous to CQs/main quest, even if you just use your daily AP on JP you will be doing 9 nodes daily and 6 during events, its a minimum of 180 nodes per months, its probably closer to 99.9%.

Sometimes Type moon need an easy balance servant, Aoko already a repeating tragedy from before. I'm overall disappointed of the over balancing effect, still though nice np song and design.

Pretty easy skip for me, I love the fact that they're experimenting with Servant skillsets (albeit almost 10 years in) but because of how the core game is structured (and because they're not the best at balancing character gimmicks) it's just not for me.
It's funny how many Servants could be fixed (quite easily) if they just got their heads out of their asses for their skill/NP buff structure.
Simple balance fixes would save so many Servants really quickly instead of making these braindead monthly (if not yearly) buff "events" that in some cases don't even address the Servants issue.
You don't like it when after 3-4 years a servants gets a crit up or guts skill or they buff the np dmg from a servant with 0-20% charge and no refund 🤡
