As we arrived at the Copper Coast, the setting sun cast a warm glow over the dramatic sea stacks and rugged cliffs. The waves crashing against the shore beckoned us to capture their raw power and graceful motion. My favourite technique of using 1/2 second and 1/3 second shots allowed me to create stunning images that froze the waves in time, yet added some motion to them also. Each frame told a story of the sea's relentless dance with the land.
The sun's descent approached, and as we set up our equipment, something unique happened. Michael, in his true California spirit, decided to shoot barefoot. It was a moment of true communion with nature, a symbolic connection to the elements, for me however it was borderline madness :-)
As he adjusted his settings and composed his shots, it was evident that his dedication knew no bounds. I however thought he was crazy as the water here was quite cold.

Great video Darren. I have a suggestion on your next visit to the copper coast…the center stack in the first part of your video has an outline that looks like a profiled face looking to the sky. If you use a zoom and focus on that filling the bottom right corner with the “face” against a cloudy sky it might be an interesting shot. Just speculating. Again really enjoyed your video!!
