In this video I will show you the process of kneading dough and how to knead dough by hand. This same technique can be used for any yeast bread dough as well as for kneading dough for pizza and various other breads.
Bread can be made without a bread maker or a stand mixer! Kneading dough by hand is a very easy process. The process of kneading works to build the gluten structure in the bread so that the gasses produced by the yeast will be contained in the dough.

Which dough method is best for piza?
Hi there! If I have the time, I prefer to use the sponge method to add a little more flavor into the dough. But the straight dough method is also great if you don't have enough time to create the sponge!
I'm going to have to try this by hand - the dough hook on my dough mixer just isn't enough and I've never seen the "press in / spring back" test... I have a feeling if I had done that with my machine kneaded bread, it would simply retain the dimple.
Try it! It's really simple and helps you to control the dough a bit better than using a machine.

But what happens to the dough when you knead it by hand. Is something activated that speeds up the reaction of the yeast?
Kneading bread develops gluten which allows it to inflate
@@dingleshit Silly me and my logic was that if you squeeze the heck out of it. Then your squeezing out the air bubbles.

@@nzs316 you definitely crush some bubbles but the yeast will make more! Kneading just makes it stronger so it can stretch and handle the air

But the surface doesnt seem to smooth like required recipe achieved :(
If it's not smooth then keep kneading until it is. It's almost impossible to over-knead by hand.
