    You haven't hunted long enough if you've never needed a 2nd arrow to harvest a animal. They did the right thing and deserves the tag

    Eli deserves the tag but I understand Johnny's argument. Even though I believe it is a losing one.

    Eli deserves the tag and did what was ethical. The tag didn't specify one arrow or more, just that deer runs less than a 100 yards. Frenchie just trying to play the game.

    The tag was not clear from the beginning. Lesson learned for next year. The beef started before the tag issue ever arrived Eli was already mad a “frenchie” got a deee before him.

    I didn't like watching this video. To me it looks like these guys are taking ethically questionable shots. (Also the goofing off is just a turn off. It might play better if the hunting were taken more seriously.)

    Give the man the Vortex Tag. Quit trying to add more rules on it that wasn't on it It died in less than a 100 yards ! There was no stipulation on the number of arrows. get over it.....move on

    This tour should being a group of guys together. True outdoorsmen are happy for fellow hunters to have sucess, even if the circumstances could have been better, and im sure they would have wanted it to go differently. Thats hunting, especially bow hunting! I guess the PM in canada doesnt allow mistakes either!

    Johnny was being a punk arguing that the Vortex tag wasn’t deserved by Eli. The deer died within 100 yards and the ethical thing to do was to do a follow
    Up shot.
    I honestly was super annoyed by Johnny for arguing that.
    Come in man!!???
    Good job Eli and Blake!

      It was the Ethical thing to do but it's also ethical to take a shot you're 100% sure of.
      They admit it wasn't a great shot. A gut shot.
      So you're winning an award for a sub-par shot?
      You got it down, that's what is important. Congrats Eli!

    • @christopherstephens8768

      @@christopherstephens8768 Youre the type to crave the participation awards ehhhhhh? XD
      All I'm saying is if you're going to take a shot at an animal, take a concrete shot. Look at the shot Blake took, YES it's a little risky but he saw the target clear and it was close. Right through the V of the tree. Look at the exit wound. BEAUTIFUL !
      Good on Eli to finish off the dying animal. But people are watching, take concrete shots and be a good role model for those watching.

    • @willbarnett9509
      @willbarnett9509 11 місяців тому

      @@Jackofalltrdeswhere did they say the shot Eli took wasn’t a concrete shot. All video ever says is that Blake couldn’t see the deer from his tree. They said it wasn’t a great shot BECAUSE it was a gut shot. Doesn’t mean she wasn’t standing perfectly broadside when he released the arrow.

    • @Jackofalltrdes
      @Jackofalltrdes 11 місяців тому +1

      @@willbarnett9509 So you're saying it was a concrete shot and he just missed his mark?
      The resulting shot, if he had perfectly placed deer as you're suggesting, landed in the guts, winning a prize for a bad shot? It's just funny to me.
      Like I said before, it was Ethical to shoot the 2nd shot, it was needed, no animal deserves to suffer when its life can be ended.
      Above I mention Blake's shot, I'm referencing the shot of the deer he took down at the end of the video, not the camera work at the beginning.

    There should have been no argument. He did the right thing by putting her out of her misery it would’ve been unethical if he didn’t.

  • @ameri_cancountry6936
    @ameri_cancountry6936 11 місяців тому +1

    Eli definitely deserves the tag, he was just doing what any ethical hunter would do, he could have put 5 arrows into the deer and it wouldn't matter because the challenge doesn't specify the number of shots. It almost seemed like "frenchie" was begrudging someone else having success

    I think you guys should have tried to contact vortex the sponsor of that challenge to see who should have got the tag. I understand the point of view of going up with the follow-up shot to kill the doe and I understand the fact that the other guy shot the doe and it died quicker. But it sounds pretty clear The challenge was whose deer died closest to the shot, not fastest.

    If these young men want to step up their stalking skill it would seem to be a no-brainer to wear clothes that don't make noise. If the camera can pick up the sound the deer can hear them too.
