This movie is excellent! I saw it with a large group of friends, both men and women, and they all loved it. My husband ordered an I Am Kenough sweatshirt immediately after leaving the theater.
The general message is that no one should be trapped in a box of societal expectations, regardless of their gender presentation. Ken and Barbie both go on parallel journeys of discovering who they are as people.
Saw it twice and all the males in my family went and loved it
I know a bunch of guys who love the movie as much as I do. This Ken Scene is one of the best in the movie!

Barbie has an existential crisis, and ken discovers a life outside of barbie. The movie is about defining yourself and not what others think of you, but its wrapped in a campy comedy. Its pg13 but i dont remember any cursing and no real violence ( except the barbie punch). Its very tongue in cheek. I think most people will enjoy it
definitely watch it!!! i went with my bf and his sister, my bf wore pink and he had a great time and lots of laughs! surprising amount of guys tbh and i was happy to hear them laughing along :3
Movie is great. So flipping quick witted
This movie is complex on many levels. Kids can enjoy it because the scenery is fun, there are exciting dance and fight scenes, car chases…. And just under the surface are some messages that resonate strongly with both men and women. While the doll, Barbie, in all her iterations, provides a template for girls being whatever they want to be (doctors, president, astronauts…) the doll alone does not fulfill any promises. Like most toys, the one playing with them must use imagination. The doll, Barbie, merely provides a door that can be opened by that imagination. This is why in the movie, Barbieland is pretty, and it seems the girls have it all, but it is shallow. There is nothing but pretty clothes and parties. And this movie is NOT about hating men. When Ken says he is always number two to Barbie, it is an echo of how many women feel in our society - never quite enough. Ken is revealing how that same social judgment might feel to men: no matter WHAT they do, they are never enough for the dominating elements in society. They aren’t buff enough, tough enough, rich enough…. which mirrors women never being pretty enough, smart enough…. This film is a commentary on how our society is cruel to EVERYONE because of the hierarchy of social worth and power in which we live. Everybody ends up feeling badly about themselves. This is why Ken’s insistence that he “is enough” resonates with so many people. He is taking control over deciding how much social worth he has, and that perspective will guide his behavior once he has more self confidence. Which we all need. Think of the hundreds of messages in media, TV shows or commercials, film, fashion…. that thrive on putting people down and claiming they are so inferior, no one will ever love them. Is it a wonder there is such a mental health crisis in our country?? Barbie is a movie that makes people think, question, and homely join in meaningful discussions.
I definitely think it's worth watching, all the guys I've talked to enjoyed it because its just very fun and well written

I had zero interest in this movie until I saw the full trailer. It looked so funny and weird I changed my mind. It wasn't what I expected from a Barbie movie AT ALL. It was really funny and Ryan Gosling's Ken is the best character, you should see it!

It's a movie that gives the message that men aren't needed. Yes watch it so you can tell us what you think.
No. It gives the message that men are "kenough" and don't need validation from women to feel complete.
No. It just flipped every romcom ever made except for 500 Days Of Summer. Men are needed, but they shouldn’t be the priority for women to attain happiness.
It's a satire reversing gender roles to make you think about the social expectations of women and men. Barbie and Ken come to know themselves better in their journey through Barbieland and the Real World.
How sad that this was your take away. You completely missed the point.
